Just Get Really Good At Referral Generation!
(And Watch And See Which Direction Your Long Term Profits Go!)
So let me tell you what actually inspired this particular blog post. I was speaking with the managing editor of a popular. Local, upscale, life style type of magazine.
Where I had just purchased a display ad. Coming up in their April/May 26 edition. (Can you believe Mr. Marketing is actually investing in some type of traditional display advertising.)
But it’s for my alternative lending services. Not my consulting services. But it’s what happened during our conversation. Which sparked a creative referral generation strategy. Which could at least be inexpensively tested. Entrepreneur are you ready to take things to the very next level or two?
You Don’t Need To Constantly Spend A Fortune! (When Your Lead Generation Strategies Are Above Average!)
She mentioned she currently has her very own opt in email list of 12,000 plus subscribers! And steadily climbing. Clearly this lady or someone in her organization. Definitely knows a thing or two about effective list building, right?
In addition to purchasing a display ad in their magazine. Which basically goes out to 30,000 plus locals. And your ad stays in both the April & May issue. (For both the print and digital versions of the magazine.)
Anyway, for an additional X amount of dollars. She would run a “broadcast” email blast to her entire list of 12,000 subscribers. (Which basically reveals!) Without her having to actually disclosing it. Her list is not strategically segmented.
Sometimes There’s Hidden Or Underutilized Profits In Certain Assets You Own! (Or At Least Control!)
So her offer is basically an “upsell” offer. But you can only buy an email blast for X amount of dollars. If you’re running some type of paid ad in their upscale magazine.
But here’s the 1st additional modified upsell offer. Which could at least be inexpensively tested.
Instead of charging X to do a broadcast email blast to her list. (But only if you’ve bought an ad in their publication. She (or you!) Charges X plus! And you don’t have to buy an ad in their publication.
So if you want access to her subscriber base, And you don’t want to buy an ad. You just pay X% more for the option to just pay for an email message to her list.
But she only runs your message twice. She creates another subject line. For all of those subscribers. Who didn’t open her 1st message. And resends it. And that’s it!
Potential Joint Venture Partners Will Be Attracted To Non Directly Competing Vendors! (Who Help Them Lower Their Advertising Or Marketing Cost!)
Now consider the following. Either she approaches other local, non directly competing vendors. And she (or you!) Offer to send some of these non directly competing vendors. Best market tested offers to her list.
But instead of charging them an upfront fee. She or you earns a 25-50 or X% Joint Venture/JV commission. On the initial front end gross profits only!
And the vendors net 100% of the long term gross back end profits. On the repeat sales, referrals and or testimonials too! Plus the vendors have no or very little upfront cost, right?
You get really good at profitable referral generation. And watch “how” fast! Previously closed doors will open to you!
Let Your Major Competitors Sweat Over Their First Time Customer Acquisition Cost!
