Maybe It’s Time You Stop Focusing On Blogging For A Living!

    (And Did This Instead!)

Entrepreneur “how” long have you actually been blogging? Really? And do your blog posts consistently rank on Google or any of the other major search engines 1st or 2nd page? For the specific -hopefully- long tail keyword phrases you’re attempting to rank for?

If not (news flash) it’s probably not even worth your efforts. If you’re trying to consistently rank on Google-s 1st or 2nd page and you’re constantly coming up short. Because if that’s your primary strategy for blogging for a living. You may have already discovered there are some awfully lean times ahead. Agreed?

For several reasons. Primarily practically every day more and more aspiring entrepreneurs are attempting to rank for some of the same long tail keyword phrases. And as they do. This literally forces the major search engines to become incredibly select about “whose” sites rank in the first ten slots per page.

So the extremely sophisticated online marketers with the most relevant backlinks pointing back to their specific pages. And those backlink sources which currently have the most domain ranking authority in Google and the other main search engines mind. More times than not their pages will consistently rank the highest. The end. Or is it?….

Strategically Blogging For Business Is Definitely A Little Different Than Trying To Earn A Living Through Blogging!

Don’t get me wrong here. If you currently have an active blog. (And for our purposes let’s define an active blog as you publishing some type of fresh, relevant content, for your specific target market at least once a week.)

Of course you can definitely publish more often than that. As long as you can keep up the pace. Because your target audience will definitely want some type of consistency.

Just a quick side note. Entrepreneur did you know the average aspiring entrepreneurial blogger, especially those who have their own self hosted WordPress blog. (And make no mistake about it -your own self hosted blog for frequent content publishing is definitely the way to go.)

They all but totally abandon their blogs within four short weeks or 90 days or less. Say what?

Nod your heads cadets because it’s true. That little tid bid is being shared with you. In order to set up what’s coming next. The average entrepreneurial based blogger will no longer be active just four short weeks in.

So let’s say they consistently posted one new fresh piece of “how to” problem solving content -of some kind-to their blog for the first three weeks their blog existed.

Then suddenly without notice they (or you) simply stopped. And abruptly moved on. Huh? And for a second. Imagine your blog is an offline, neighborhood corner store.

And for three weeks a certain percentage of the residents within a three to five block radius are slowly coming to your store. Then suddenly without notice. They start showing up at 7:30 am one particular morning and there’s a prominent-clearly handwritten- notice on the front door. Stating the business is permanently closed. Say what?

You Definitely Don’t Have To Try And Be Or Become A So Called Traditional Blogger!

Some of you already know my expert seven figure earning coach, mentor and friend James McAllister of jamesmcallisteronline.com fame, correct? And in James-s excellent “Blogging” course he readily points out. Just like your opt in email or text message database.

Your blog is most definitely an incredibly valuable asset or resource. And depending on “how” you or your major competitors utilize it. It can or quickly become an incredibly pro-active marketing/promotional tool.

Case in point. Take a look at the screenshot image of a recent email message I received from freelance writer Courtney Rosenfeld of gigspark.biz fame.

She (or the automated software she or someone in her organization) may be using. She reached out to discover if I currently accept guest blogging opportunities. (Which I definitely do under certain circumstances. Which I’ll detail just a little further ahead.)
