What Can The Clint Eastwood Movie The Good The Bad And The Ugly Teach You About Successful Blogging?

So entrepreneur are you a big fan of Oscar award winning actor/director Clint Eastwood (aka) “Dirty Harry? Well long before “Dirty Harry” descended on the fast paced city streets of sunny San Francisco California as streetwise (and 357 Magnum toting) police inspector Harry Callahan (aka) “Dirty Harry!”
He actually made his mark by appearing in a series of rather low budget (for that time anyway) western based dramas (more affectionately) referred to as “Spaghetti westerns.” And one of them that helped catapult him to stardom was called “The Good, The Bad And The Ugly!
And while the film featured a bevy of solid performances by some incredibly gifted (although) not necessarily famous actors and actresses.
The main three stars were the late great veteran actor Elli Wallach (Tuco- The Ugly!) and the late great (steely glaring, cold eyed) Lee Van Cleef (Sentenza- The Bad!) and “Dirty Harry” himself (Clint Eastwood) (aka – The Good!) as this cool as ice water, mysterious pistol packing character whose first and or real name is actually never revealed throughout the entire movie and or series for that matter!
Although Elli Wallach’s character (Tuco) is fond of referring to him throughout the entire series as Blondie! Anyway, just in case you’re wondering “what” if anything, some classic (rather low budget) spaghetti western film series, (The Good, The Bad And The Ugly), has to do with you’re becoming a successful blogger? And therefore “how” it all relates to successful blogging.
Hold that thought! Because you’re about to get your answer! And it’s probably nothing like you think!….
So What If Anything Can The Classic Clint Eastwood Film The Good The Bad And The Ugly Possibly Teach You About Successful Blogging?
Believe it or not, there are actually three really important (blogging) and or general business lessons that can and should be derived from Clint’s classic movie series. You see, “The good, the bad and the ugly” is an analogy for the way you should blog and communicate with your target audience!
Because nobody has everything go 100% in any particular direction (good or bad and or otherwise), all the time, correct? Therefore, it’s that real life ebb and flow that helps your readers really connect with you (us) on a much deeper level.
Your audience wants to know that you’re not a super hero! Instead, that you and I have our ups and downs just like everybody else. (It’s just that when life knocks us down, we always find a way and or reason for getting up!)
1.) Classic movie blogging lesson # one: First (The Good!), for me the good was the day after this past Thanksgiving -2014. When one of my coaches and mentors, a very successful Internet marker/blogger in their own right!
Actually took the time during the hectic holiday season, and got on skype and personally walked me through a maze of technical mumbo jumbo! So that I could participate in this mini launch!
Successful Entrepreneurs Make Time For Others! (So their Ultimate Success Is a Lot More Likely!)
And made sure I had working links and the correct ones etc.
And let me tell you, were it not for their incredible generosity and expert guidance, it simply wouldn’t have happened! And they made sure I was secure and had a much better idea of what I was doing before they called it a day! How cool was that?
2.) Classic movie blogging lesson # two: Next, (The Bad!), for me the bad was when I got several personal emails via the contact page of my WordPress blog, detailing how several regular visitors had tried unsuccessfully several times to leave a comment, but for some reason my captcha form was preventing them from doing so!
So after I contacted my WordPress guru in a complete panic, he had a look at the code somewhere in my dashboard (don’t ask me how or where!), but once he was done, the problem (thank goodness!) was resolved! And hasn’t resurfaced yet! What a relief!
3.) Classic movie blogging lesson # three: And finally… (The Ugly!), well even recalling this particular sad tale, automatically triggers some rather bitter memories!
So perhaps it’s fitting, this particular part of my blogging story is appropriately referred to as “The Ugly!” So here’s the skinny! I used to belong to this paid membership site and over time as I continued my Internet marketing education. I found (believe it or not), that I would actually log into the paid membership site less and less.
Success Minded Entrepreneurs Stay Focused And Engaged!
Even though I was being debit charged for it every month! Strange I know! Anyway, unbeknownst to me, the original owner had sold the site to another popular online marketer, that also pretty much had guru status at the time. ( I guess that’s the price you pay when you stop opening and reading their emails!)
So one day out of the blue, about one year later, I finally decided to log in and see (what) if anything is new and improved. Well low and behold, both my username and password is no longer valid! Say what?
How the heck can that be? I didn’t change them! This has gotta be some type of computer glitch right? So I’ll just contact support and this whole giant misunderstanding will quickly be resolved, right? Not exactly!
The short of it is, support gets back to me within 24 hours, but they were sorry to inform me, that not only had the site been sold to a new guru like owner!
But even worse, the price per month that I was was currently being debit-ted, was now 3.5 times higher! Huh? And that’s why I could no longer log in! So let me get this straight I asked in my immediate follow support ticket inquisition!
You’re telling me that even though the site has been sold and both my username and password are no longer valid! And the new monthly price is now three and a half times higher that what I was originally paying! You’ve still been debit ting my account at the old rate of X per month for the last twelve months! You’ve got to be kidding!
Your Readers Want And Definitely Need To Know That They’re Not The Only Ones That Life Throws The Occasional Curve Ball To!
And after another 24 hour wait, (that seemed like an eternity!) their luke warm response was yes! That my friend is “The Bad!” And yes this is a true (but oh so sad) story! And yes I’m partly to blame for not staying on top of things more!
But there is no ethical way they should have continued to debit my account for X every month, when the new owners monthly rate was now Y and they knew my log in details were no longer valid! Would you not agree?
But who reading this hasn’t had and or experienced a momentary lapse in judgement or two! But it’s stories and true life situations, like I just described, that really helps our readers experience “The Good The Bad And The Ugly” of our blogging and or real life/business situations!
Just Stay Of The Mindset Which Ultimately Produces Viable Solutions! (And Long Term You’ll Definitely Be Okay!)
And therefore help them connect with us on a much deeper level! Don’t you agree? And that’s what a classic Clint Eastwood movie can teach you and I about successful blogging! Any questions?
