Seven Powerful Reasons I'm So Thankful!

Seven Powerful Reasons I’m So Thankful!

So entrepreneur here we are about to enjoy yet another thanksgiving holiday season. So I simply have to ask you? What (pray tell) are you most thankful for? Hey listen, I realize you’ve got a lot to do today and through the coming weekend, so I’ll be extremely brief today! (Sort of!)

But seriously, what readily comes to mind, regarding what you’re most thankful for? Now please do me a favor! Before you go off on another one of those  rants about “the holidays are just too commercial” for your taste and therefore you don’t or won’t celebrate and or recognize them etc!

I get it! But let me add this; are you familiar with the name Maxwell Ivey (aka) “The blind blogger!” Yea this extremely dynamic entrepreneur is actually blind!

And yet he’s far more adventurous and or courageous than lots of people with both sets of eyes! Now, I’m sure in those extremely quiet moments when he’s all alone with nothing but his (extremely) private thoughts, he has plenty of questions about “why” him etc!

Yet, in spite of the incredibly challenging circumstances beyond his control, this trooper forges on with genuine vigor! So while you in all likelihood are begrudgingly enjoying the use of both eyes, legs, arms and ears etc!

(Even if you’re not yet astute enough to take and make full use of them!)

Max forges ahead and routinely reaches out to help others that may be temporarily struggling with their own form of limitations as well! So please forgive me if your “rant” falls on temporary deaf ears! With that said; here are my seven incredibly powerful reasons for being extremely thankful!

My Seven Incredibly Powerful Reasons For Being Extremely Thankful!

Hey listen up! Nobodies suggesting that you and I don’t have the right and or justification to occasionally voice our disappointment! But to constantly sound like a broken record, when there are most certainly those among us “who” are really up against it!

So here’s my short list of seven reasons for being extremely thankful!

1.) Reason # one: I’m extremely thankful that my Mom is still alive and in fairly good health and she’s still mentally sharp and aware!

2.) Reason # two: I just recently enjoyed traveling to be with her on her birthday! So I’m extremely grateful for that opportunity!

3.) Reason # three: I’m grateful that my best friend growing is still in reasonably good health and he and I were able to re-kindle a great friendship that had been dormant for the decades after I left California!

Another mutual childhood friend got his number and emailed it to me! And now he and I periodically spend hours on the phone laughing about the incredibly crazy times we had growing up!

4.) Reason # four: I’m extremely thankful that my brother and sisters are still here and in really good shape mentally and physically!

5.) Reason # five: And I’m extremely thankful for some absolutely  fabulous coaches and mentors who’ve reached out and gone above and beyond for me! On more than one occasion!

A few of their names are, but certainly not limited to the following incredibly dynamic individuals!

A.) Becky Joubert! (She’s helped me immensely, especially during my extremely challenging early struggles!) B.) Donna Merrill C.) David Merrill D.) Adrienne Smith E.) Vanessa Duplessie. And of course, my expert WordPress guru, coach, mentor and friend. The one and only “Jupiter” Jim Landers. Just to name a few!

(And just this week one of my coaches/mentors actually took the time during their extremely hectic run up to Thanksgiving, to not only answer my distress email, but to pick up the phone and personally walk me through a maze of confusion!

And made sure before they hung up that I was crystal clear on “what” (I specifically) needed to do!) So I”m extremely thankful and grateful for their personal support and encouragement!

6.) Reason # six: I’m extremely thankful for my customers and clients that have been with me for years and they’ve sung my praises as they’ve done so!

The Closer You Look The More Things You’ll Discover You Definitely Need To Be Thankful For!

7.) Reason # seven: And finally… I’m extremely thankful for the challenges I’ve had to face and been forced to go far beyond what I previously thought was my comfort zone! I’m thankful that I’ve been forced to struggle and learn from my mistakes, in order to learn to trust and believe in myself, to a greater degree that I previously thought I was capable of!

Bonus:

8.) Reason # one eight: I’m extremely grateful and thankful that for whatever reason(s) you decided to stop by! Thanks! And the best to you and yours going forward! That’s just a small sample of what I’m truly thankful for this holiday season! How about you?

  1. I think the world would be a better place if we took more time to notice all the great things in our lives and what we are thankful for. My birthday always falls very close to Thanksgiving (sometimes the day of), so I’m always thankful for another year of life. It’s so nice to spend that time with loved ones and to be reminded of how blessed we are to have food on the table and clean water to drink – there are so many others who don’t have the same luxuries. Thanks for posting such an uplifting piece of work!

    • What yo say is so true Tori!

There is an awful lot to be extremely thankful for!

It’s easy to take so much for granted!Al the things you mentioned and more!

And besides, you really can and will accomplish so much more and affect
far more people with a positive and grateful mindset!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

I quickly glanced at your site, do primarily target college and grad students and
the problems and challenges they face?

  2. I thought you said seven? But that beautiful list was eight. If there is one thing I’m grateful for, it has to do with fact that I’m still alive and sound and reading this.

    Glory be to God!

  3. Hi Mark; thanks for all the kind words. It is a blessing to be mentioned as an example and be able to motivate and inspire others. and i wanted to comment on one thing you mentioned in your list of seven that being that your mother is alive and physically and mentally healthy. some people get down on themselves because they haven’t reached the level of financial success they aspire to and are living with parents brothers roommates, etc. well its not you have to live with your parents its that for a while you have the blessing of spending time with them while you build or rebuild your life. and as for the idea of making a change and having something to celebrate on new year’s eve it came to me while trying to decide or focus on what I would say on a radio show monday morning. Its the largest audience show I’ve been on so far and i was starting to get nervous. then i remembered two things. ONe i pitched my appearance as time to tell my story something I’ve done a lot and am getting better at. and two while they may have more people listening I’m not talking to them I’m only talking to the host and having a conversation. but i thought for a guy whose message is do what you can every day that the idea of not waiting until the new year was a no brainer. 🙂 thanks again and blessings on you and your family in the years to come, max

  4. Hi Mark; well, I was kicking back listening to some college football when i got an email from our mutual friend and blogging super star adrienne smith. she told me that i was mentioned in your post and wanted to make sure I knew about it. So here I am. thanks so much for those kind words. its basically what my friends finally convinced me of before i started the new site, began offering coaching, started putting myself out there for speaking engagements, and wrote my first motivational ebook. They said there are so many people out there with no physical reasons not to rock their lives but yet they do nothing with theirs. so while i still think of myself as doing ordinary things every day i realize to a lot of people doing nothing what i call ordinary is what they think of as extraordinary. so, with a month left until new years I hope everyone reading your post will decide to do one thing for themselves between now and the time the ball drops. Like i say if you start now by new years eve you will have something really worth celebrating. thanks again for the great mention. take care my new friend, Max

    • Thanks for stopping by Maxwell!

And like you, I too love watching college football! But my friend make no mistake about it!

You are doing some extraordinary things! And being introduced to you has truly inspired me
and I’m sure many others as well!

You help us realize what’s truly possible, once we get laser focused and totally committed!

And congrats on publishing your very first (and hopefully!) not last motivational ebook!

And you’re so right, far too many so called able bodied people do absolutely nothing with the wonderful
opportunities afforded them! What a shame!

And I really like your suggestion, that with basically a little over month to go before new years, if we start something
right now, by new years eve we may actually have something worth celebrating!

What a great thought! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your incredibly invaluable feedback! I
      truly appreciate it!

  5. Hey Mark,

Well you definitely know I agree with you about Max. He’s an amazing man and I’m so honored to know him. Whenever I have a moment I think of him then I feel bad for ever having that moment. No telling what he has to deal with on a daily basis bless his heart.

Your list of what you’re thankful for, well I go down my list every single morning and my family and friends are all on that list too. I appreciate you naming me as well so I’m honored to be among your coaches and mentors and just glad to be of help.

I normally start with just being thankful I was given another day on this earth in the condition that I’m in with the things that I have. I think a lot of people take Thanksgiving to do this but I make a point of including in my everyday things. How can you not!

Thank you though for this post and I’m glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to spend that time with your Mom. I know she appreciated that as well.

    Have a great weekend now.

    ~Adrienne

    • Thank you so much for your extremely kind words of encouragement Adrienne!

You’ve certainly gone above and beyond for me several times! And I greatly appreciate you
taking the time to help shed some light where I was totally blind, confused and clueless!LOL!

And I couldn’t agree more about Maxwell and his incredible drive, sheer determination and perseverance!

What a truly inspirational guy and story! His efforts let’s us all know what’s possible!

And like you, I too feel equally blessed to be presented the opportunity to be here another day!
And to be able to enjoy and be inspired by dear friends, family members, coaches and mentors such as yourself!

Thanks so much for all you do and have done and will do going forward!

It means a lot to those of us that are constantly striving to one day hopefully
      emulate your success!

      Your grateful student in progress!

  6. Hi Mark,

Wonderful post and I agree with you Max is an inspiration to all of us and when I read his posts or his comments, he is such a great friend and a gentleman with a passion to help. I wish him all the best in whatever he sets his mind to do.

Your reasons for thanksgiving are all valid my friend!!

I am thankful and grateful for the breath of life, for God’s hands in my life, for my family, my husband, my kids, my brothers and sister, my blog, my business and everyone who visits my blog, including YOU, my parents who passed away and the list could go on and on but I will stop here!!

Thanks Mark for sharing and I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones. Enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful weekend ahead.

    Be Blessed,

    Neamat

    • Thank you so much for stopping by Neamat!

And I’m so sorry to hear about your parents!

My Mom had a mild heart ache a few years back and it just frightened me to death!

Every time the phone rang my heart skipped, thinking it might be bad news about her!

So I can certainly appreciate your grief!

Thanks as always for you extremely kind words of encouragement!

And yes I enjoyed my THG day as well! And Max is incredibly courageous isn’t he?

May we all find his type of courage and perseverance! Thanks as always for your extremely kind words of encouragement
      and for your continuous support!

      I truly appreciate both!
