You’ve probably heard it said (by the experts) that football is a game of inches,correct? Which simply means, often the margin of victory is razor thin. So too in business (sometimes) my friend, often it’s those tiny little minor differences, that will permanently separate you from 98% of your competitors.

And it’s your strategic selling methods and the like, that can and will give you the edge.

Believe or not, far too many business owners and service providers, (especially) the small cash starved Mom & Pop type, simply have no written formal daily, weekly, quarterly, semi annually and annual plan of attack.

In other words, about 90%, have no (formal) written down business plan. so their just sort of wining it and hoping for the best. Good luck, because statistically speaking, within five short years or less, a grand total of 60 months or less. They’ll be long gone, for any number of valid reasons!

Part of the way (all important) strategic selling can and will help you, is because it will help you to formalize your written daily, weekly and monthly battle plans. And the best way to start benefiting from your new “strategic selling” motto, is by stop relying on random marketing activities to carry the day, like periodically leaving your best market tested , lead generating business cards inside of various books relevant to your industry, each time you happen to visit your local Barnes & Nobles.

Instead, start institutionalizing your daily, weekly and monthly marketing activities etc.

1.) Strategic selling strategy # one: For ex: since you already know that (as of last count), only one in ten (or 10%) of all cash starved small business owners and or service providers, ever bothers to create (more like) commit to a written business/marketing plan.  Your job (goal) is to make sure that you create a simple, non techie, non complicated, daily, weekly and monthly stated (written) marketing goals plan for your business.

This way, just like your diet/exercise plan, you can honestly access and track your progress or lack thereof!

2.)  Strategic selling strategy # two:  piggybacking off of proven concept # one. It’s also a proven fact that, the ten percent of all small business owners and service providers, that bother to write down (commit to) their stated business/marketing goals.

Guess what? On average, that ten percent, typically does 50% better than the other 90% that didn’t commit to (bother to) write down their intended goals! How much more evidence do you need?

3.)  Strategic selling strategy # three: And just to take the a fore mentioned concepts to the all important next step/level. Get this; of the ten percent that bother to write down and commit to their written goals, not only do they often out perform the other 90%, by at least 50%.

But when they bother to assign someone (preferably yourself) to actively monitor their progress, guess what? they often out perform their counter parts by a staggering 500%! So you might wanna really pay attention here!

4.)  Strategic selling strategy # four: The other way you gotta strategically sell from now on is, you gotta make sure you’re constantly maximizing your personal one to one customer/consumer interactions.

For ex: from now, don’t simply let a real life customer get a rain check for some item that your temporarily out of stock! And leave your store and go spend that (hard to come by) discretionary income somewhere else! No way!

Instead, make sure you offer them one of your VIP discount coupons, that good for X percent off (say 20% off) their next three purchases, but it must be used by the next 30 days or less.

You’ll definitely need to inexpensively test that aspect, to discover what time length produces the best results!

5.)  Strategic selling strategy  # five: Now leverage the last activity to the max! Huh?

Since your savvy enough to start systematically leveraging your “rain check” process. Here’s how you strategically (and almost) effortlessly, take that entire rain check process to the next level!

Now that they’ve been giving your special time sensitive VIP discount coupon, that’s good for X % percent off their next three or five or whatever number of  purchases, you wish to give them.

Now all you have to do in order to systematically boost your profits, is offer an additional 10% off (or X), for every new first time visitor/ customer (not currently) on either your email and or offline database list, they bring with them to your store. That’s over 18.

You give your VIP customer 30% off their total purchase, with no minimum purchase requirements, and they’ll actively recruit new long term potential customers and clients for you, for literally pennies on the dollar!

That my friend, is mega proven strategic selling at it’s best. Don’t you agree?
