Hey, don’t get me wrong! I’m all for having complete confidence in your natural creativity.But entrepreneur, it’s not a total substitute for having an effective marketing plan of some kind.
Winging it, especially as it relates to your business, is incredibly dangerous and will likely end up being the main reason your business, product and or service, not reaching anywhere near it’s true full capabilities!
On the other hand, you couple a little marketing creativity, and you’ve most certainly got something worth exploring further!Let’s have a closer look at an instance or two, shall we?
So When Does It Really Make Economic Sense To Rely On Your Natural Creativity As Opposed To Your Official Marketing Plan?
Officially, I don’t know that I ever want to be on record encouraging anybody, (especially) a newbie entrepreneur, to rely strictly on their over active creativity glands, as opposed to their far more reliable (not to mention), stable (and therefore) adjustable marketing plans.
However, without a doubt, I’m totally comfortable with (not only) suggesting, but definitely encouraging you to implement a comfortable blend of the two.
In other words, it’s simply amazing, when you combine some of your natural creativity with your tried and true marketing plans.
For ex: let’s suppose you (and or) someone you know and love, runs your typical corner deli store.
And you know the usual stuff you sell there, right? But let’s focus on your beverage sales for just a second. And by beverages, I’m referring to your coffee/cocoa/tea and or freshly squeezed lemonade sales.
Yea, we’re definitely talking old school here. Meaning; when it comes to your coffee, you are constantly on the lookout for some of your city or counties best tasting exotic coffee and or other beverages!
That of course, is according to the general consensus of all the local fanatic coffee drinkers you personally know and the ones you follow on twitter and or Instagram etc!
They routinely spend big bucks and often consistently show up to local coffee tasting events, with iphones in hand and sharing notes among each other and frequently tweeting about their findings etc.
As well as posting on FB and Instagram etc.
So at some point you discover this local vendor that seems to have one of the best tasting exotic coffees and teas around.
So here’s “what” you initially decide to do (test.) You purchase at least two pounds and immediately create an “Exotic Coffee Club.”
And get this, (you only) sell large cups of this exotic coffee and or tea. Just depending on which one you initially start out with.
Give Your Natural Creativity A Chance To Blend In With Your Formal Marketing Plans!
So (hopefully) only the truly interested will want to join your newly created “Exotic Coffee Club.” And of course you’ll still sell regular coffee in small, medium and large portions, for those that don’t want to initially join your semi exclusive new club.
But here’s where your marketing creativity can potentially start to serve you.First, the very first time your “Exotic Coffee Club” members buy their very first large cup, with normally retails for anywhere from $3.79 -$4.29 per cup!
You’ll let any body that asks, to sample it, sample a tiny cup full. And once their sold on it’s magnificence, you’ll let them purchase their very first cup for just $1.00 dollar!
Say what? That’s right! Think about what will happen!First of all, it’s already been established that their hard core coffee/tea/ cocoa lovers, correct?
Witnessed by the fact they’re consistently willing to pay anywhere from $3.79 – $4.29 for a cup of one of their favorite addictions! 😎
Well, more than likely they’re traveling around on the local or county circuit, taste testing the various exotic coffee’s correct? Which means they are probably extremely active on the various social media marketing platforms as well, correct?Bingo!
You could also reach out to a few of the highly influential local bloggers, to have them come in and see what they think, while you supply them with free coffee/tea and or cocoa, in order to do so!
Remember Your Natural Creativity Is Merely A Spoke In Your Marketing Wheel But Not The Wheel Itself!

Think about “what” will start to happen!They’ll fill out a slip and hand it to you, with their best, most honest creative suggestions, on “how to” improve your business!
And for every strategy you decide to at least implement, it only cost you a lousy cup of of exotic good tasting coffee/tea and or cocoa!That’s definitely win/win, wouldn’t you say?
And here’s the other strategy, after they purchase their very first cup for just $1.00 dollar, then they pay retail, but on your slowest day(s) of the week, if they come in and present their laminated card, they only pay $1.50 for a large cup in your exotic coffee club!
The main thing these strategies accomplish is, it inexpensively gets them back in your store, as opposed to frequenting one of your main competitors!
