Why Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Must Learn To See Past The Trees To See The Entire Forest!

Entrepreneur, hopefully you’re not one of these single minded focused marketers, that unfortunately can’t see the entire forest of overall marketing possibilities, because of the (tree), of what’s currently going on with any given marketing situation, you happen to be involved with are you?

The reason I ask, is because of a recent post I just published about “how” some extremely savvy entrepreneurs (such as yourself), are effectively using an extremely powerful, little known marketing strategy, that when implemented correctly and consistently.

It definitely can and will lead to some really big money. And that’s always a good thing right? But here’s the thing, rather than simply refer to this particular post as part two, it’s far better to go about describing this posts content, from a slightly different perspective.

And by doing so, hopefully the overall main point will become much clearer.Because (unfortunately) far too many extremely savvy entrepreneurs, can’t or don’t think conceptually!

For example, if you were to say and then demonstrate, 7 + 3= X, they don’t readily grasp the overall marketing concept that (mathematically) speaking, so is 30-10 divided 2 = X as well!Let’s take an even closer look to really see and hopefully appreciate what’s really going on here shall we?

So What Are The So Called Benefits Of Some Of Today’s Extremely Savvy Entrepreneurs Seeing Past The Tree In Order To See The Entire Forest Of Long Term Marketing Possibilities?

So just to quickly recap from the previous article about how some of today’s extremely savvy entrepreneurs, are systematically cashing in, (big time) , because of their ability to see far past the immediate (tree) of what’s going on and, seeing the long term (forest) of overall marketing possibilities!

Now specifically speaking the primary marketing concept that I previously referred to in the previous post was using the little known marketing concept, that’s often referred to as your businesses back end.

But rather than merely go there and leave it at that, I decided to try and provide some real conceptual marketing meat on the bones and provide a graphic example of it being put to use in a major way, by a really large and extremely successful company!

And there in lies the major problem!Huh? Far too many (extremely savvy) entrepreneurs, can only see and or partially appreciate your specific example(s),(the tree), but not the overall long term (forest) of overall marketing possibilities!

Because when they read, that Walmart’s decided to (first) allow any customer that spent over X amount of dollars, to automatically be allowed to purchase any DVD that cost $10 dollars or more and just pay $10 dollars for it!

In order to hopefully stimulate a ton of future DVD sales!Especially on the more expensive end of the retail DVD sales spectrum.

And when they also read that Walmart formed a temporary strategic alliance with Netflix, (in this particular hypothetical case only!)  And that Walmart would include a special offer insert inside all of the DVD they sold, that’s the mathematical equivalent of saying, 7 + 3 = X!

Entrepreneur Your Creative Sales Process Requires Some Long Term Marketing Vision As Well!

So they’re automatically dismissing a particular (battlefield tested) marketing strategy & tactic such as this, simply because they read the words Walmart & Netflix!Big mistake!

Which in and of itself, proves they’re not grasping the overall (forest) of long term marketing possibilities!

Instead, they’re primarily focused on the (tree) that which is directly in front of them! Want or need further proof?

Case in point. Ladies & gentlemen, here is an incredibly brain dead simple spin off’s of the exact same (overall) marketing concept, that was demonstrated and highly advocated for in a previous article/post!

Let’s take one of the top (and therefore) most expensive luggage retailers in the entire world! What if an extremely savvy airlines formed a temporary strategic alliance with them.

And going forward, every customer that purchases any luggage from them, (no matter what price they  paid for it), when your customer opens their main piece of luggage, they’ll find one of their best market tested offers from the airline!(Or savvy retail company X!)

And they invite you to head over to their mobile responsive WordPress blog and enter their VIP, “You Can Go Anywhere In The World On Our Dime!” Monthly free drawing!

And each month, two grand prize winners, one male, one female, must be 18 & over, (in order) to legally eligible, will be awarded a round trip airline credit, car rental & hotel fee guest package worth at least $7,500 dollars or X!

Now hopefully, one of the top retail luggage sellers in the world, currently sells millions of dollars of top end luggage every month! (Or close to it! 😎 ) Which means, (both) they and the extremely savvy airlines can and should be amassing, a huge and highly targeted opt in email (and or text message) list of potential repeat customers, correct?

(Note: Ladies & gentlemen, this type of marketing approach is just sitting there (literally) begging some of today’s extremely savvy, although clearly (single minded focused), tunnel vision challenged entrepreneurs, to wake up and smell the long term marketing opportunities already! 😎 )

That being said!Without going any further in part one. Entrepreneur, please readily acknowledge, that (strictly) from a mathematical standpoint, you can appreciate, this rather watered down example is the equivalent of 3010 divided by 2 = X! (As opposed to merely saying 7 + 3 = X!) Thank goodness!

We’ve delver even deeper in part two for sure! But for now, hopefully you’re starting to appreciate how and why, some of  today’s extremely savvy entrepreneurs, have to be able to see past the tree, in order to see the entire forest of long term marketing possibilities? Don’t you agree?

  1. Hi Mark, once again!

Entrepreneurship manifests in all sorts of different ways for all sorts of people.

And you are right – all of us must expand our vision.

In the blogging space too often I see bloggers with tunnel vision – and they wonder why they’re not making any money!. Merely selling a a few products here and there from their blog will not cut it. Instead they need to step back and create a new vision for their blog.

I see my own blogs as simply hubs or entry points for what is to follow. Having an upsell pathway that feeds into big ticket product offers, is one of the crucial innovations that a blogger can embrace. If they do that they’ll start to make some serious money – for a change.

    Thanks again, Mark!
