So “what’s” your favorite social media strategy? Do you currently have a favorite social media marketing strategy? Well, whether you do or not, here’s the thing. Unfortunately far too many small business owners and service providers (are) on paper anyway, attempting to be as proactive as they can be, with regards to actively promoting their brands and building stronger customer/client relationships.
With regards to social media. The problem is,”how” they’re going about it. Which means, if you or any of your top joint venture partners and or cross promotional partners, ever find yourselves, doing any of the following three things, my friend it’s definitely a surefire sign that your social media strategy is probably not going to work!
Three Surefire Signs That Your Social Media Strategy Might Be In Trouble!
Of course you know and realize that you definitely need to be proactively involved with social media. The problem/challenge is, “what” and or ‘how” do you actually go about being both productive and effective,right?
You’ve heard (to no end) that a proactive presence on various social media platforms, is a must,right? But “how” exactly do you boost business using social media? And more importantly, “how” and “what” are the surefire trouble signs that indicate your current social media marketing strategy is probably gonna be a bust!
Let the following three surefire signs (if nothing else), be your initial guide.
1.) Surefire trouble sign # one: Oh you’re proactive in “social media” alright! And that my friend is the problem!Huh? You’re way too proactive for your own good! My friend, you’re simply stretched way too thin!
In essence you’re dabbling in this or that, but not mastering and therefore truly benefiting from your watered down presence on various social media platforms! You’re better off figuring out (asap) which specific social media platform, a majority of your particular target group spends their time!
And devote the majority of your social media presence there.(let the 80/10/10 formula be your ultimate guide. Spend and devote 80% of your time on the social media platform, where the vast majority of your target market is.
And the remaining 20%, ten percent in the other two respectively. So basically figure out between the big three, twitter, FB & Linkedin, with one deserves the 80% of and the remaining two get ten percent each.
2.) Surefire trouble sign # two: Unfortunately when it comes to effectively using social media to further your customer/client relationships or to further enhance your brand etc.
Someone has convinced you/us that what we need is more “likes!” And by spending a vast majority of your irreplaceable time collecting “likes”, that they will somehow miraculously lead to more sales! Good luck with that deal!
Hey, don’t misunderstand here, without a doubt, it’s totally cool to get positive online affirmations (from) both your peers and your/our devoted customers and or clients! But my friend, you’re ultimate goal is to serve and grow your business! and to do that you/we need sales!
3.) Surefire trouble sign # three: This next one, sadly even yours truly unfortunately also has to volunteer to go to the front of the line!
It’s being way too inconsistent with your proactive social media marketing activities! For ten days or three weeks, you’re actively tweeting and posting on good old FB! Then just like a major college campus during spring break, you suddenly disappear!
Or worst yet, you temporarily go into the witness protection program! None of which helps your/our cause! The bottom line is simply this; whatever you do going forward, if you’re truly serious making a positive go of your time and efforts, with regards to effectively using social media.
Then make sure you eliminate (as best you can) the aforementioned three surefire danger signs to your social media strategy going forward! And you’ll be so much better off long term!
Bonus tip: As if this really needs to be said, but none the less! A truly deadly surefire danger sign is; if for whatever reason(s) you’re totally ignoring your all important social media marketing presence altogether! You absolutely can’t afford to go there! Don’t you agree?
