Three Simple Reasons Why A Staggering 95% Of All Newbie Affiliate Marketers Constantly Fail!Part Two

So as you previously discovered in part one, of this ongoing series, about “why” a staggering 95% or more, of all aspiring newbie affiliate marketers, struggle mightily, and then ultimately fail!

While there are (literally) a ton of minor overwhelming reasons why this sort thing, constantly keeps happening! In a nutshell, you can basically boil all those seemingly unconnected reasons, down to this one glaring simple reason!

By in large, the vast majority of them, (are either) (A.) Failing to run their affiliate marketing venture, like a real profit driven business and or service etc!

Or (B.) Truth told, they really don’t understand, the ABC’s of real, profit rending affiliate marketing!

Other than, they don’t necessarily need their own products, services, and or mobile responsive WordPress website and or blog, in order to begin earning money, by actively promoting/marketing another vendors products or services etc.Huh?

In either case, their lack of real understanding, of “how” the affiliate marketing game is actually played, and their total un- sophistication, leaves them potentially vulnerable to never actually getting their venture off the ground properly!

And therefore they never truly experience any momentum building mini successes!Let’s see if their real world learning curve can be shortened!

So Why Do A Staggering 95% Or More Of All Aspiring New Affiliate Marketers Ultimately Fail?

First of all, one of my blog commenting buddies, expert affiliate marketer and email marketing specialist, Peter Beckenham of “The Village Marketer.com” fame, and for the record,(I highly recommend) you check his excellent blog out,for the very latest, in cutting edge email and or proven affiliate marketing strategies and or tactics etc!

Anyway, Peter stopped by and left an extremely helpful, (slightly more advanced) comment on part one’s post! So, I’ve decided to merely piggyback off his extremely timely comments!

Basically, the overall theme of “what” Peter was sharing was this!He astutely pointed out, that (unfortunately) at least 95% or more of aspiring, newbie affiliate marketers, will often spend far in excess of “what” they will actually be earning on the vendors front end (sales funnel) info product, and whined up not only losing money!

You’ve Got To Not Only Learn But Develop Some Bankable Skills Before You Attempt To Profit From Your Sales Funnel!

But the really sad part, they still created a new customer for the vendor, that now (routinely) goes on to sell that customer, far more expensive info products and or services etc!

And the poor (bewildered) newbie affiliate marketer, doesn’t receive a dime of all that additional, (short or) long term, back end residual income, they spent a fortune on the front end, creating for that particular, (far more) experienced marketer!

Is that Ironic or what? (And just like Peter pointed out, this far too common occurrence, happens far more often, they you and or those aspiring, newbie affiliate marketers can even begin to realize and or appreciate!(And as if that wasn’t bad enough?)

The Vast Majority Of Aspiring Affiliate Newbie Marketers Simply Will Not Last Long Enough To Actually Start Consistently Earning A Profit!

Here’s another major reason “why” the vast majority of aspiring, newbie affiliate marketers ultimately fail! (And do so miserably!)

Let’s say, they’ve decided to market a product, (like maybe) a “how to” training course on how to build you very own, mobile responsive WordPress website and or blog etc.

And let’s say this particular – eight week- hands on, step by step instructional course, currently retails for $997 or more! And the affiliate marketers receive a 30% commission, for each completed sale!(Which sticks! 😀 )

Your Direct Marketing Strategies And Or Tactics Will Be A Whole Lot More Successful And Profitable When You Understand The Basics!

Better slowly re-read that last statement again, (entrepreneur), because your thorough understanding of “how” this particular type of, industry standard affiliate payment commission structure, could potentially negatively affect you economically, in the not so distant future!

So it’s extremely important, that you totally grasp what’s going on here!Once the sale is completed and the transaction is actually finalized, (which) you are about to shortly discover, are in fact two completely separate things!

The vendor will then (either), credit some account you have set up, (like maybe) your Paypal account, or they may (actually) send you a physical check for 30% of $997, or your commission is $299.10! Hey, major congrats! But wait a second! Not so fast!

If Your Affiliate Marketing Strategies Aren’t Profitable On The Initial Front End Of Your Sale Funnel! (You Want Be Able To Reap Any Long Term Financial Rewards On The Backend!)

Two really important things have to be considered, (and potentially) accounted for here! And if they aren’t, your excitement can quickly turn to disbelief and total frustration!

(A.) First of all, (entrepreneur) hopefully, you didn’t over spend on various forms of paid advertising, like a “drunken sailor,” trying to generate that 30% commission did you?

And in the process, actually spend more, (often times) way more than you’re actually going earn per finalized sale! And again, it doesn’t matter if you’re talking about receiving a 50% or 80% commission of a $97 dollar product!

You can’t spend more than your ultimate commission percentage pays you!

Or you will quickly find yourself “upside down!”  (B.) But here’s the other extremely important (and so often) overlooked component of the affiliate marketing game, that all but does a staggering 97% of them in on the initial front end of their sales funnel!

In Order To Truly Succeed At The Affiliate Marketing Game You Have To Graduate Beyond The Aspiring Wannabe Newbie Affiliate Phase!

Entrepreneur, (there is) a very good chance, the customer that spent the $997, or (even bought) the other more expensive item(s) from your vendor! More than likely, the chose the (more ) economically affordable, “easy payments”  option plan!

In which case, your 30% commission, will be broken down into a smaller number of affordable monthly payments! For illustrative ex: (purposes only!) Maybe five full monthly payments of $167 (or X.) And one final partial payment of $162 dollars.

Unfortunately Far Too Many Aspiring Affiliate Marketers really Don’t Know And Or totally understand the Basics Of What They’ve Gotten Themselves Into!

Entrepreneur, no matter “what” type of “easy payment plan” option your buyer actually chose, your 30% commission payment(s), will be based on the actual amount your vendor, actually receives each month and or quarter (every three months) etc.

Of course, (now you’re thinking), so “how” does this potentially negatively affect me, if your buyer goes ahead, and pays the entire $997 or or more, in a one time payment! Great! And again major congrats to you!

No Matter Which Online Marketing Strategies You Implement Be Sure You Invest In Learning The Basics First!

But here’s the thing! You see, whenever anything gets sold, (on or offline), but especially online ,and it’s a fairly expensive, (what some) like to refer to as, a “big ticket” item!

Entrepreneur, there’s always the very real possibility, that a certain percentage of those“sales” will be cancelled within the standard 30- 60 day grace period!Oh yes.

In which case, your vendor, is not going to credit you (or I) with a finalized sales commission of X, before their grace period ends! Which means, even though your buyer purchased  something,(and in all likelihood) it was probably, some sort of digital information product (and or service etc.)

And they paid the full amount of $997  (or X.) And your commission is 30% of that amount, or $299.10! ($997 x .30% = $299.10)

The Best Marketing Strategies Won’t Be As Profitable If Don’t Fully Understand The Pros And Cons Of The Particular Strategies!

Until that sale actually clears the “cancellation” grace period of (typically) 30 to 60 days later! Guess what? You (and I) won’t be seeing a dime of that commission, until those sale(s) actually finalize! So hurry up and wait!

My friend, (word to the wise!) Hopefully, between “what” you’ve discovered, parts one & two of this ongoing, two part series, you can as least partially appreciate, “why” a staggering 95% (or more) of all aspiring newbie affiliate marketers, make very little money and ultimately whined up going broke! Makes more sense now, correct? Great! Now as is customary during this part of our show.

  1. Hi Mark and I thank you for your kind mention and feedback.

    Truly appreciated that mate.

Like you I am a very enthusiastic affiliate marketer as well as a blogger but I’m just sick of so many marketers losing out and really not understanding why they are failures – often after they have invested so much effort and money.

By the way most folks who set out online to be affiliate marketers are not stupid or lazy – they are just ignorant of the key factors that enable affiliate marketers to succeed. I know that for a fact because that’s what happened to me!

That’s why posts like these 2 of yours Mark are so important – and I have shared them as widely as I can so many people are made aware of these extremely valuable affiliate marketing “survival points”.

I must add that its not all doom and gloom for new affiliate marketers – not by a long shot.

Affiliate marketing is definitely as great way to get started online as you have none of the customer service or product creation hassles to content with – just sell and collect the cash.

My advice to all newbie marketers however, is to make sure you are list building right from the start.

So rather than spend your hard-earned cash sending paid traffic to some vendor’s sales page, send that traffic to yourself with an optin free offer that lines up with the affiliate product you eventually want to sell.

To create such a free offer you can search for a quality relevant PLR product or simply go to the sales page of the product vendor, look for the key benefit and “pain point” bullet points the product addresses.

Then either create a simple short video or report talking about why these benefits are so important and how overcoming their “pain points/problems.challenges” can improve people’s lifestyle. And in your video or report provide your affiliate link to the product solution

Then in your follow up emails simply reinforce the benefits and the pain points the subscriber will receive from overcoming these challenges and once again link them to the solution – your affiliate product.

This affiliate marketing strategy enables the new affiliate marketer to make multiple sales to the SAME subscriber over time rather than just a “one night stand” approach. To achieve this, however, the newbie marketer has to spend time building relatonships (and trust) with their ever growing list by adding as much value as they can (and if not sure how to what to do then simply borrow tips and ideas from more advanced marketers and share them).

Best wishes as always from a remote Thai village Mark
