Three Proven Ways To Increase Profits Even During A Nagging Recession!Part Two

As you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series about what you need to do, to strategically increase profits,  especially during a prolonged nagging local recession of any kind.

First of all, money is extremely tight and all of your readily available resources are already stretched to the hilt, correct?

And you’re constantly stressed and while you’re seriously considering dramatically cutting back on your allocated marketing/advertising dollars, your target markets disposable income is steadily shrinking too.Is it not?

Now’s really the ideal time to get proactive about strategically growing your small business or service and expanding your first time and repeat customer base. Say what? That’s correct.

Think about it for a second; during a prolonged nagging recession, prices (generally speaking) across the entire board, are usually 20-75% cheaper! Right?

Plus, it’s during these extremely nerve racking times, when savvy business owners or service providers such as yourself, (and or aspiring entrepreneurs) are literally scrambling to maximize their short and long term profits, that they’re usually the most flexible.

Their ears and attitudes alike, are open to exploring less conventional marketing/advertising techniques and or strategies etc. The remainder of this post will introduce you  to at least two more, such potential marketing possibilities.

How To Increase Profits Even During A Nagging Recession!

First of, as you recall from part one; profit increasing strategy # three, that’s where you strategically cross promote with local vendors that are non competitive with you. And you inexpensively expose each other, to the others steadily growing customer/client base.

For ex; let’s suppose you run a local art gallery and you regularly showcase several up and coming local artists.

And since your clientele is in the lower to upper middle income range, you seek out a reliable upscale gourmet coffee retailer. (Preferably one still aggressively trying to build their local customer base. And their social media following. 😀 )

And you arrange for the coffee retailer to offer one free (or deeply discounted) large cup of gourmet coffee to the first 50 (or X) number of customers that come to your gallery on a certain day.(Or they each get one free large cup if they bring a friend over 21!)

You Can Definitely Increase Profits By Helping Boost Other Non Directly Competing Vendors!

Both of you will definitely put the word out via social media. But here’s the potential second leg of this proven low cost marketing alternative.

Part of this long term viral marketing strategy might also include at least two local charities. Both you and the gourmet coffee retailer agree to donate 10 (or X%) of your gross receipts for the day.

And since you plan on inexpensively testing this strategy, one day per week, preferably on the traditional slowest day of each month.

As long the charities agree to tweet out your weekly events to both their twitter followers and post it on their FB fan page, and send either an email alert blast and or mobile message or send an inexpensive snail mail post card to their database as well.

The charities customers will receive special VIP time sensitive discount coupons from both the local gourmet coffee retailer and your art gallery.

And as long as the charity is active in promoting your weekly events to their audience, they get their 10 (or X%) donation from both you and the gourmet coffee retailer.

And both you and the gourmet coffee retailer get additional (relatively inexpensive) exposure to new and hopefully repeat customers, for literally pennies on the dollar.Correct?

And the local charities gets a commitment from you to donate a certain percentage of your weekly gross profits. A rather interesting way to increase profits, don’t you agree?
