Entrepreneur, have you ever heard the saying, “don’t raise your voice! Improve your argument!” Sound advice indeed! The main point being, there are far too many proven types of marketing strategies, that the typical cash starved struggling small business owners and service providers often overlook, or ignore altogether!
The logic being, stop desperately trying to re-invent the wheel! Translated: create or invent new (previously) untested marketing strategies and instead strategically improve or creatively implement the ones you already have! That have already stood the test of time!
Three Proven Types Of Marketing Strategies Small Business Owners Should Stop Ignoring!
Just like the line in the song says, “little things mean a lot!” Sometimes you should focus on improving incrementally, and not try and create sweeping whirlwind improvements!
The following three, rather simple (and non techie) examples should demonstrate this powerful concept.This first example refers to any and every organization that struggles with (first) setting appointments -with prospective customers or clients- and then (unfortunately) having to consistently deal with anywhere from 25-55% of them not showing up! And when they don’t show up, you (or I) don’t get the chance to share our valuable products or services with them!
So let’s start (inexpensively) testing some proven strategies, to see “how” much better (incrementally) that small, but consistent improvements can be made!
1.) Proven marketing strategy # one: One of the simplest (and) proven strategies for incrementally improving your appointment “no shows” percentages, is by simply offering your prospects two really valuable free gift certificates (of their choice!) just for keeping the appointment!
In other words, make them aware the moment you set (and confirm) their appointment, that provided they keep their scheduled appointment on the first first try!
They’ll receive two valued gift certificates valued at X! But they forfeit them if they cancel or no show on that first appointment.
2.) Proven marketing strategy # two: Whenever you have a major retail space that unexpectedly becomes available, because for whatever reasons your current tenant has to break their lease!
Offer to lease the space for “free” for at least three months, for any tenant that signs an approved new lease! However, offer this powerful benefit by way of a free drawing! This way you create a ready made list of semi qualified leads of prospective tenants, that are (on paper) at least financially capable of making monthly lease payments of anywhere from ten-fifty thousand dollars per month!
3.) Proven marketing strategy # three: If your business is primarily an offline bricks and mortar business. Find yourself a non competitive company that operates primarily online, and propose a joint venture, where say once every three months (90 days), you’ll allow them to set up a large “free drawing” display inside your business and consistently drive a percentage of your daily foot traffic to (hopefully) their market tested lead capture page.
But you charge them a three month upfront set up access fee! Plus, if they want you to periodically send (either) a text or email (or solo ad) to your email subscribers etc. That of course will cost them a little more up front cash!
