So when was the last time you were (really) in the market to buy (either) a house or a car? You’ll discover “why” those two revealing questions are extremely relevant in just a minute, so please pay close attention….
And “what” if anything do those two critical questions have to do with you (hopefully) avoiding three of the deadliest types of marketing strategies, the average misinformed small business owner and or service provider, often attempts to use, in order to make more sales? So glad you asked!…
Introducing Three Of The Deadliest Types Of Marketing Strategies!
(You Definitely Need To Avoid!) Otherwise You’ll Go Broke!
So “who’s” into self sabotage and wasting a ton of valuable resources, not mention time and money? Anybody? Hello! So you say… But let’s dig a little deeper and see “what” you might discover.
If you’re even casually thinking about trying to use any of the following three (potentially) deadly small business marketing strategies to grow your business. Here’s basically three words of advice. “Forget about it!”
1.) Potential deadly marketing strategy mistake # one: Entrepreneur, whatever you do, please do not attempt to ever inject your own personal political and or religious views into any of your marketing messages, that are aimed at the general public!
Basically for two (very good) reasons. First, “nobody” cares, ‘what” you think politically about this or that! They turn to your business, product or service, in order to solve a specific problem and or issue!
Second, no matter where you happen to fall politically, (or not at all!) someone else- namely (your future potential customer or client) has a different (and in their mind), equally as valid point of view!
So don’t thrust your pro or con political and or religious views on them! (Obviously, the exception being, if your business, product and or service is politically and or religious based!)
2.) Potential deadly marketing strategy mistake # two: Ever hear the names Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg,Chris Rock or Tina Fey? Entrepreneur, those professionals are paid extremely well ( millions of dollars in fact) , to make people laugh! That in essence is their job! They’re professional comedians!
You and I on the other hand are not professional comedians! So please do not attempt to inject ‘humor” into your marketing messages. Basically for two reasons.
A.) First, there is “absolutely” no one size fits all blueprint for humor!
B.) Second, “what” you swear is outrageously “funny”, your current and or future potential customers and clients, may and probably will not!
3.) Potential deadly marketing strategy mistake # three: This last one is huge; self made multi millionaire, direct response copy writing ace Dan Kennedy, expertly points out the “major” problem with the wishy washy type of (all too) common advertising that you (unfortunately) see constantly going on with your local furniture stores and local car dealerships!
The vast majority of (both) their outrageously expensive TV, radio and local newspaper ads is this; at least 90% of their ads focus on the vast majority of the general public, that at the exact time of their being exposed to the advertising.
Guess what? At least 90% of them (or more!), aren’t specifically and emotionally ready (and or) currently in the financial position to buy! Which means a staggering 90% or more of your hard earned ad dollars are simply being poured (at lightening speed) down the corporate drain! Ouch!
And that’s simply no way to grow a successful business! Don’t you agree? That being said, that’s “why” you definitely want to avoid, these three deadly types of marketing strategies!
