So have you ever noticed “how” especially when you’re first starting out on your Internet marketing entrepreneurial journey, that you just seem to be constantly having major and minor misstep after misstep?
That is,until you “finally” get and develop somewhat of a reliable formula or two that you can consistently follow.
And that’s usually only after you’ve invested more than your fair share on money and committed a ton of time to developing and honing your skills.
(And at least one of these all too common Internet marketing mistakes, if not corrected asap! Can and definitely will lead to some long term incredibly destructive consequences!)
That just seems to be “how” it goes, right? And try as you may, you can and definitely should (both) read and consult with as many qualified sources that you can beg, borrow or “whatever”, in order to try and shave your real world learning curve!
But try as you may! There is simply no viable substitute for a little reality based (real world 101) entrepreneurial learning! Don’t you agree? In a way it’s too bad that the mere reading of text books alone, cannot and definitely will not totally prepare you for the rough and tumble world of business ownership. And or being an entrepreneur!
You just gotta get in the game and take your inevitable lumps! 😉 In order to grow, right? This post will focus on three of those (all too) common Internet marketing mistakes! And “how to” correct them!
Introducing Three All Too Common Internet Marketing Mistakes Far Too Many Aspiring Entrepreneurs Make!
(And “How To” Correct Them!)
Now of course the reality is, you could literally have a list of a gazillion and one (all too) common Internet marketing, mistakes and still barely scratch the surface!Right?
So the real purpose of highlighting these three in particular -all too common- online mistakes, is to help you avoid the three that are extremely easy to fix and, they’ll definitely help boost your long term profits, because you did so!
And by avoiding number one in particular, you will be potentially dodging a huge bullet! That said: take a look at three all too common Internet marketing mistakes!
And “how to” correct them!
1.) All too common Internet marketing mistake # one: Entrepreneur, this first all too common Internet marketing mistake, can be potentially deadly to your chances for long term success, if you don’t avoid doing it altogether initially!
And or “if”, once you become aware of it, you don’t nip it in the bud and correct it asap! And that’s if you haven’t already, please do not use the word “admin” as the username for (anything), but especially as the username for your WordPress website and or blog!
Because this all too common name is one of the very first one’s that professional hackers use to try and breach your account(s)! And sadly not a one of the instructors paid classes I took to initially learn WordPress, ever pointed this out!
So there I was a potentially sitting duck like a ton of other newbie online marketers! Now if you did have the misfortune of using that word, contact a qualified WP techie asap and pay them to correct this potential problem asap!
You Can Do Wonders For Your Long Term Internet Marketing Brand By Consistently Sharing Extremely Helpful Information For Your Specific Target Audience!
2.) All too common Internet marketing mistake # two: This next one, “thank goodness” is not nearly as potentially destructive as all too common Internet marketing mistake # one!
Here’s where and “how” newbie online marketers miss out on tons of potential traffic retention. Because of this all too common and incredibly simple online marketing mistake!
Ladies & gentlemen, whenever you hyper link to a source outside your website! Make sure you click the button that says “open in a new window.” This way, once your visitor is done looking at that site or sites, they can simply close it and remain on your site!
Otherwise, you seriously risk them closing that site and being off your site as well, and simply not bothering to come back! Ouch! Believe it, because it happens all the time to the unsuspecting newbie marketers!
And if you’re paying for that traffic, it’s costing you in more ways than one!
3.) All too common Internet marketing mistake # three: And “finally” the third all too common Internet marketing mistake that you definitely want to avoid is this:
Believe it or not, one of the most viewed pages on your WordPress blog is your all important “about” me/us page! That being said, you really need to have some way of consistently capturing your viewers (all important) opt in email information from so many of them visiting your highly visited “about” page.
Otherwise, you’re missing out on one of the simplest ways to leverage your visitors!
Well there you have it entrepreneur. With the exception of number one, the other two aren’t very earth shattering! But still in all, you change and address all three all too common Internet marketing mistakes!
And you’ll dramatically increase your chances for long term success! Don’t you agree?

Great information not just for newbies only. I use the plugin Wordfence on my blog and it emails me any issues found on my website. One of the many times I get emails is when someone tries to login, into my blog and they mostly use “admin”, “administrator” and “support”. And they even try to do password recovery. Thanks So much for bringing this up.

You’re extremely welcome Siphosith!
And “thank you” so much for sharing some extremely valuable information
as well!
Because I have never previously heard of the WP plugin you’re currently using called
Wordfence! I’ll definitely do some research on it!Thanks!
It sounds like a must have piece of security software! And the professional
hackers attempting to do password recovery is extremely scary!
And i hadn’t even realized (until you shared it!), they are doing that sort of thing!
Wow! There is so much to this online thing, right!LOL! Thank for sharing your excellent
really word tips!
I truly appreciate it!

Thank you for the great post Mark. Great information for all newbies. Even this not-so-newbie found something that resonates. I do not currently have an opt-in on my about page. I honestly had not thought of that and yes, that page is visited often on my blog. I am in the process of migrating my WordPress hosted site to self-hosted (I started my blog long before that was an option) so I can add opt-ins and landing pages, etc.

That’s great and and so good to hear Tracy!
And hey, we were all not so sophisticated newbies at some point, right?
I can remember when I first became aware of the potential issue with hackers, with regards to
using “admin” as my username on my WP blog. Or any other site for the matter!
And by then, as I mentioned in the post, I had taken at least two
major 8 week courses on “how to” build your own WP blog and not one of those
so called expert instructors had bothered to point this potential problem out
to us!
Anyway, I’m so glad that yo found some value in the post. And thanks for stopping by and sharing
your thoughts!
BTW, do you currently have a gravatar? The only reason I as is because I’m seriously considering
constructing my commentluv premium plugin in such a way, as it will not allow comments
unless your gravatar has your picture in it?
Because (these days) what little spam actually gets, often comes from individuals that have
defaulted gravatars and not their pictures in them.
But in any event, thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your extremely valuable thoughts!
They are always welcome and greatly appreciated!

Security is so important but thankfully you can guard against problems using the methods you talk about and with security plugins.
Marquita, thanks for the warning about the “remember me” box.
I would add a warning about insecure login passwords too. It’s best to use a long password which includes numbers and symbols.
Sue Bride recently posted…Free Tools to Check Competitors Websites
That’s an excellent point Sue!
What Marquita shared is another all too common online marketing mistake as well!
Maybe “what” you shared is simply my cue to add another sequel and or maybe a “how to” video
to the mix as well!LOL!
Thanks!Because you’re also correct where you warn against using only letters to create your passwords!
I readily admit I was pretty careless in this area initially as well, until it got pointed out
to me “how” vulnerable I was leaving myself!
Great points Sue and thanks so much sharing them!

Well I will admit to having made the first two bloopers as a newbie. The other thing I did was check the ‘remember me’ box on my sign in and was like an open invitation for hackers to come on down – and man oh man did they ever! That one cost me precious time to clean up and you wouldn’t believe how many ‘experts’ looked at my site trying to figure out what the problem was before a kind hearted support person at the company where I hosted that site happened to notice it and bring it to my attention. These are all important things to be aware of and I’m looking forward to what you come up with in your follow up Mark!
Marquita Herald recently posted…Making a Commitment vs. Being Truly Committed
So sorry to hear that M!
But like you, my first few (so called) WP expert instructors never said a word about
and or even addressed # one either!LOL!
And even though nothing really bad ever happened, like you say, I along with so many others
were just sitting ducks!LOL!
So I definitely realize “how” common that one was, i decided it made since to mention it.
Hopefully my “warning shot” can at prevent at least a few of going through that potential
nightmare!LOL!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your real world insights!
They are always welcome and greatly appreciated!
