As of right now. How would you define effective marketing strategies or tactics? And does your current definition involve an extremely big, traditional advertising or promotional campaign?
And if not. How would you define it and why? And going forward. What proven strategy or strategies do you plan on consistently implementing in order to start generating either some initial front or long term back end gross profits?
And do you honestly feel your current or future marketing or promotional strategies will get you there? Without having to constantly spend a ton of money.
Whether you primarily market your business or service on or offline. These proven concepts will definitely work for you or your major competitors. Just depending on the degree to which you chose to apply them.
Ever Wonder What Are Some Examples Of Great Marketing?
Believe it or not there are plenty of extremely practical examples which don’t require fortune 500 advertising or promotional budgets. For example. Let’s say you own or manage a fairly successful, single location retail appliance center.
And your ideal customer, (especially) men between the ages of 21-55. They’re typically have a total lifetime customer value metric of somewhere between $250- $9,500 dollars.
Give or take over the next five to seven year period.
And since the metrics for your ideal female customers are pretty darn close with regards to women as well. (Let’s just run with the exact same metrics for your ideal female customers as well.)
So imagine one of your best long term repeat customers. Whose just purchased a state of the art refrigerator for her house. Which it turns out also doubles as the office space for her residential (maids) cleaning service.
And to date she currently has a total of nine employees. Six are full time. Seven counting herself. And three are currently part time. And since your head delivery person collected certain extremely valuable data. You now know the anniversary date of when she initially started her business. And the month and date for her actual birthday.
And on the anniversary of when she initially started her service. (Even if the day falls on a Sunday.) You text her to find out if she and any of her current staff likes extremely great tasting gourmet coffee. And some extremely great tasting pastries, donuts or bagels.
You Don’t Have To Just Rely Heavily On Those Outrageously Expensive Traditional Advertising Or Promotional Campaigns. (In Order To Move Your Business Or Service Ahead In A Big Way.)
Case in point. While the vast majority (at least 90%) of your local competitors. Have been known to invest anywhere from $25,000 – $40,000 dollars a month. On those outrageously expensive, dismally performing traditional local billboard campaigns.
And when actually run your numbers. You quickly realize on average your cost per lead (CPL) for those not exactly cheap local billboard ad campaigns. Typically cost anywhere from $400 – $750 dollars per lead. Say what? Nod your head cadets because it’s true.
And remember. Whether you or your major competitors are constantly wasting money on those outrageously expensive, dismally performing local billboard ad campaigns.
Or those outrageously expensive, prime time local 30-60 second ad campaigns etc. You or nobody else can generate business from running just one or two ads. Correct? You have to constantly run them over and over. Otherwise you may as well not bother.
You Or Your Major Competitors Definitely Can Consistently Create An Avalanche Of First Time Customers! (For Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)
So when you invest (maybe as much) $80 dollars. For a gallon of extremely great tasting gourmet coffee and some extremely great tasting pastries, donuts and bagels etc.
First of all. For just a moment put yourself in the shoes of one of those maids. What type of positive word of mouth and mouse impression. Both on and off of social media would this rather simple and non expensive marketing ploy have on you? Think you might constantly share the retail appliance centers marketing generosity with a few of your closest personal inner circle members? Bingo.
And this includes current and past neighbors. Extremely close friends and family members. Former and future co-workers. That’s a whole lot more positive, potentially bankable exposure. For a fraction of the traditional cost. Is it not? Absolutely.
And going forward. You also purchase a twenty lb. bag of gourmet coffee every month. All the cleaning maid business owner(s) has to do is personally pick it up from the gourmet coffee shop. Because you will issue her a monthly credit of X.
And give it directly to the gourmet coffee house. And they agree to sell you the gourmet coffee at a good discount. Because they want the inexpensive exposure and constant, positive word of mouth and mouse buzz.
This Is How And Where You Put This Particular Proven Marketing Strategy On Marketing Steroids!
So imagine this. On the annual anniversary of the cleaning service being started. You have a dozen roses and a gourmet box chocolates sent. And of course a gourmet birthday cake with the exact number of candles, for the exact number of years the business has been running.
Again. Think about both the owners and her current workers reaction. Do you think they’ll tell anybody about the your marketing generosity? Plus on the owners actual birthday. (Remember just the month and day she was born ladies. Not the year.)
Anyway on her actual birthday. The very first time you will send her. Get this. You will send a dozen roses. A gourmet box of chocolates. And the original lady killer. Huh? No it’s Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington. It’s a seven foot teddy bear. Say what?
And on the other lady (maids) employees actual birthday. They will also receive a dozen roses. Plus, an extremely time sensitive, two sided gift certificate.
Side (A.) invites these female employees to enter your monthly free drawing. For a chance to win a state of the art, deluxe home entertainment system. Which normally retails for $2,500 dollars. (But truth told only cost you no more than $950- $1,300 dollars.)
And side (B.) makes them aware. Simply for dragging a friend with them to your store. Whose at least 18 and not a current subscriber. Before the handwritten date on the certificate expires. They can save 40 or X% off their very next or first purchase up to $1,500 or X number of dollars.
Otherwise if they decide to come alone. They only save 10% off up to $300 -$500 dollars.
You Can And Definitely Should leverage Your Current Customers And Both Their Professional And Personal Inner Circles! (For Long Term Maximum Profitability!)
Here’s one of you or your major competitors really nice incentives. Every time your cleaning maids owner generates a brand new first time customer. You have them find out if they are gourmet coffee lovers.
And if they are. You have the cleaning service owner give their new customers a sealed envelop. With the words written in bold red letters on the outside of the envelop. “You definitely deserve this!”
So you know it will only take nano seconds for them to rip the envelop open. Right? Agreed. You’ll discover “what” you or major competitors put inside the envelops in party two. Okay? For now. Are you starting to better understand and better appreciate “how” and why certain proven effective marketing strategies will boost your long term profits? Say yes.
