Come on, you’ve seen all of the fancy videos, seen the over the top interviews in various magazines, and heard the pod casts -about- the so called Internet marketing lifestyle.
And it’s all great! But ‘how” much of it is actually pie in the sky? These seven common myths address those issues and more.
1.) Big myth # one: You purchase your domain name and then you own it and ride off into the sunset! And eventually after lot’s of extremely hard work, you earn millions!
Well, not exactly! For sure your business may eventually reach the eight figure status mark and beyond, but that’s not really the myth part!Huh?
The myth part is, you don’t really ever own your domain name(s.) you may have purchased! You’re basically periodically leasing them! Because once those names come up for renewal, and you don’t pay for them again. Guess what? They go back on the open market, where anybody can claim them!Ouch!
2.) Big myth # two: As long as your online (using) paid web hosting of some kind, you’ll always be making some sort of monthly or annual hosting fee! Unlike your home mortgage, you’ll never be paid up! Oh those ongoing fees! They do add up!
(The myth part is, unlike eventually paying off your home, you never stop paying for hosting, no matter how long you may be online!)
That automation cost you money every month! The myth is, that somehow a complete novice is going to be able to jump into all this automation and be up an running in a nano second or two! Fat chance!
There is a learning curve my friend.
4.) Big myth # four: Yes you can and should get a state of the art paid autoresponder service, and a state of the art paid shopping cart system. The myth is, that just because you’ve got a state of the art paid autoresponder service, that somehow you’re going to magically know “how to” write persuasive copy. Not in the beginning!
5.) Big myth # five: Once you’ve got -either- a WordPress blog and or your own self hosted website, you’ll generate tons of free (organic) traffic to your site! And make tons of sales 24/7.
That’s the big myth! Fact is, if your site is currently ranked on Google or any of the other major search engines 8th or 9th page etc.You won’t ever receive any decent traffic ever.
Which means, you’re going to have to become very skillful at other forms of steady targeted traffic generation.
6.) Big myth # six: My friend, unless or until you start consistently filling your state of the art WordPress blog up with extremely helpful, problem solving “how to” content. Whether you pay for your traffic or not. There really is no reason for your paid first time visitor to come back to a virtual ghost town! Don’t yo agree?
Honestly, “how” many times would you come back to a site with just five blog posts-or less- on it? And your last entry was seven weeks ago, or longer!
7.) Big myth # seven: And finally…. My friend the so called carefree “Internet marketing lifestyle” that everybody so desperately craves! Not in the beginning. You’re going to have to burn the midnight oil, until you develop a steady audience and some all important cyber cred.
Ask any seven or eight figure earner that you respect, and the honest ones, will gladly disclose, that all successful entrepreneurs, that eventually make it online, will come face to face with the seven big online myths!
