So are you into ( so called) business stats of any kind at all? (No, no not to be misunderstood here! I’m not asking if you’re one of those stat junkies!
You know the bean counter type that I’m referring to.Don’t you? They never (or hardly ever) see the grey areas of being in business, just straight black and white.
But the sad (undeniable) fact of being in business is, everything isn’t always as straight forward as that, now is it? But, don’t get me wrong either, because some of these stats will most definitely help the serious, dedicated entrepreneurs among us!
That being said, both on and offline, you could very easily get lost in a literal sea of data of every kind imaginable, if that’s your goal.
Case in point: just for laughs (if you’ve got the time) and you’re really into the numbers (analytic) side of business. try to make heads or tales of some that gibble -D-gook found in good old Google analytics!
Have fun!But rest assured there is simply no end in sight and or, no shortage of numbers and or systems and checklist of numbers and on and on down that never ending rabbit hole, that will most certainly short circuit your brain in short order!
And even after you recover, you will not have even scratched the surface. However, all is not lost, because you are about to be exposed to at least seven fairly interesting stats, that hopefully will shed some much needed light on various aspects of not only being in business, but your specific business as well!
So What Are These Seven Extremely Critical Stats That All Serious Entrepreneurs Definitely Need To Know?
Warning!
Simply by reading the following (arbitrarily) chosen list of seven extremely critical stats, will not automatically make your business IQ increase, nor will it automatically make your legal tax burden go down! Nor will it make your kids, colleagues, spouse and or significant others, vendors, bankers nor IRS agents, fall in love with you!
(Not immediately anyway!)
However, they may in some small way serve, as a much needed wake up call. Or not! In any event, too much emphasis (and or expectation) of much better things to come! Should not be placed on them, simply because you took the time to do nothing more than read them! That said:
1.) Extremely critical stat # one:This first (rather) eye opening stat, is at best, a little odd!Because according to recent (here comes) that dreaded word again. But according to recent stats, a staggering 65% of most (non as productive as they could be) sales reps time is spent not selling anything!Come again!
Wouldn’t that sort of like be saying that 65% of your car Insurance premium doesn’t actually apply to your coverage! Then (do pray tell), what are they doing on a daily basis (other) than cruising Facebook several times a day, with that much free, unproductive sales time?
2.) Extremely critical stat # two:Next, rather eye opening stat is; the experts say a staggering 90% of all the information our brains take in, is visually based!
So (I’m guessing here) that would explain “why” so many wannabe bloggers, hardly ever use (either) infographics or images and or videos, in their blog post, right! Just saying!
3.) Extremely critical stat # three:Piggybacking off of stat # two. Strangely enough, the tweets that have infographics and or images of some kind in them, (on average) receive a staggering 832% more retweets, than those that don’t!
Not All Stats That You Read Are Strictly A Waste Of Your Extremely Valuable Time!
4.) Extremely critical stat # four: Here’s a rather interesting stat for all those eye balls reading this post that constantly “insist” that blogging (of any kind!) is simply a giant waste of extremely valuable time and or manpower resources!
Well according (Ignitespot),61% of US consumers, have revealed that they have made some sort of purchase, as direct result of reading a blog post!
(So stop your hating, because I’ve embedded my paid autoresponder services affiliate link in this highly informative article! 😎 !)
5.) Extremely critical stat # five: Moving right along; Companies that blog (on average) have reported that they typically generate 88% more new semi targeted leads per month, than those companies that don’t!
Hey, it’s just another one of those semi meaningless stats. You draw your own conclusions!
6.) Extremely critical stat # six: Unfortunately, on average, only about one percent of your twitter followers, ever see your tweets! So unless you (either) have a gazillion highly influential followers and or have a gazillion followers to begin with.
Don’t totally expect to crush it, simply by using twitter!
(But hey,you still might wanna tweet this anyway, even though there is no image, infographic and or video to go with it!)
7.) Extremely critical stat # seven: And finally, entrepreneur please make darn sure that your WordPress blog and or website is mobile friendly! Because (whether) you realize it or not, about 53% of your current web visitors are viewing your site on some type of mobile friendly device.
And that figure and trend is only going to go up!
Which means, if your site covers their entire screen and they have to scroll right or left in order to see your entire site, instead of it being condensed to the size of their particular device.
They are so gone! And you don’t get the chance to (either) enroll them as a subscriber and or first time customer/ client or repeat customer! Ouch! So as far as your typical run of the mill stats go.
Most serious entrepreneurs, such as yourself, can and should see the value in these seven particular ones, correct?

Hello, Mark,
I was under the impression that you were going to be talking about stats that we should keep track of and watch closely, but I see you’ve shared some stats with us that are very interesting!
Well, I’m a very visual learner, so I really like images and any sort of graphic really. I prefer video to text, and audio to text, but will definitely enjoy reading if the blog post is formatted well. 🙂
Not surprised by that Twitter stat. LOL I don’t use social media much – I spend about 15-20 per day, that’s it.
Yep, mobile users are increasing each day, and it’s staggering. Google has even incorporated this into their algorithm – sites rank better if they’re optimized for mobile users.
Enjoyed it, Mark! Have a great week coming up.

I’m definitely with you when it comes to images and graphics Carol.
And I to will hit the play button on a video, although as long as I’m being
educated and or entertained, when I’m reading something, then text is okay.
And don’t even get me started on social media.LOL!
If twitter or FB had to rely on people like me for it’s ad revenue,
they would be toast!LOL!
I just don’t get this whole fascination and downright obsession with FB?
Now the mobile angle, I can definitely see, even though I didn’t adjust
right off initially.
And without a doubt, the long term trend with mobile is up! We definitely both agree on that as well.
For me, social media use is like certain tax obligations. Meaning, I try not to use it anymore than is truly
necessary!LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by Carol!
Your extremely valuable thoughts and insights are always welcome!

Mark — I agree about the use of images in blogs and social posts. They do boost traffic. But just as important, in my view, is that using images in blog posts makes the content more compelling to readers. We live in a visual society now — movies, TV, streaming media — and it’s what people expect when they visit your site.
