So do you have any current projections that you’ve been working on for what seems like the longest time?
Hope not. Because if you do, the is a very good chance that you have or are about to fall victim to the dreaded perfection syndrome.
And successful entrepreneurs simply don’t or won’t let that sort of thing happen. or if they do, it’s only temporary.
Seriously, it might that perfect video and or ebook (PDF) that you’ve been working on forever and a day.
Or worst yet, that article/blog post and or series of posts that you’ve not yet published, because there’s still that (all important) missing piece.
That you just can’t quite put your finger on yet. And until you do, you’re simply not going to publish your “masterpiece” until it’s (well) perfect. My friend if this unfortunately a huge potential, and perpetual mistake, you and so many other aspiring entrepreneurs keep making.
Wonder Why Successful Entrepreneurs Just Seem To Know How To Avoid These Seven Critical Mistakes!
In any event, there are lots of semi road blocks and or temporary mental and or physical temporary setbacks, that if you’re not careful and stay on top of things.
Before you know or completely realize it. They will stop your progress cold! And you’ll become a virtual prisoner of indecision. And that type of mental torture simply isn’t for you.Right?
So this post is dedicated to hopefully helping you recognize, and avoid seven critical mistakes, that often plaque less focused small business owners, service providers, solo-preneurs and or aspiring entrepreneurs in general.
First of all, let’s be crystal clear. Even successful entrepreneurs occasionally get sidetracked, frustrated and distracted.
While It’s Definitely Not A Crime To Become Temporarily Or occasionally Sidetracked! (The Trouble Almost Always Potentially Emerges When These Sidetracks Become All Frequent!)
(Not often mind you) but they do occasionally find themselves not being nearly as productive as they can and should be.
However, unlike most, they quickly make the necessary mental and physical adjustments and quickly get right back on track.
So it’s not like they have some type of super powers. Quite the contrary. They’re just ordinary men & women, that consistently put in extraordinary effort!
And as a direct result, more times than not. They get or create the long term profitable results the rest of us so desperately crave!
But one of the main reasons that they succeed where so many others fail! They just somehow seem to know “how to” avoid being victimized by the following seven, (all too) common mistakes that so many otherwise extremely savvy, and extremely talented entrepreneurs commonly make. Over and over again.
Take A Really Close Look At Your Five To Seven Most Common Habits And You’re Definitely Looking Directly At Your Future! (Only It Hasn’t Happened Yet!)
1.) Major critical mistake # one: This first one is freaking huge. (Entrepreneur) no matter who it was that originally convinced you! Be it a really close friend, an ex, your current spouse, best friend, kids or a subliminal message from your dog or cat!
You need to get over this obsession you have with, (either) trying to be perfect or (thinking) that you somehow are the only person walking the planet that has to be perfect! You don’t!
So (please) do yourself and everybody else a favor asap! And get over it asap!
2.) Major critical mistake # two: Stop looking for answers and or solutions initially outside of your control! Meaning: there is no Calvary that’s coming to save you! You and I are it! Now get to work already.
There’s Far More Which Lies Within Us Than Which Lies Outside Of Us!
Especially in the beginning! So stop blaming your local banker or Google-s latest update, or your paid autoresponder service provider or your web designer etc.
Sure they may temporarily disappoint you and I, but by in large, they pale in comparison to what you and I need to do, in order to reach our stated goals and or objectives!
3.) Major critical mistake # three: stop thinking that you (just) need more time! You clearly don’t! What you’re really saying is; you’re simply not as organized and prioritized as you could and or should be!
Because (news flash), nobodies getting any more time in their day! Not even you!So you’ve got to get your priorities in order now! Eliminate your time draining activities.
Successful Entrepreneurs Aren’t Smarter They Just Work Smarter!
4.) Major critical mistake # four: You can’t (nor) are you qualified to do it all! Meaning; you’ve got to really learn how and when it’s definitely in your best interest to, (either) delegate a particular process and or procedure etc.
For ex: rather than invest the next 10 or more hours or weeks trying to figure out “how to” add or tweak the header to your Facebook fan page! Or whatever.
Instead, hire a pro over at fiverr and invest the $15-$100 dollars ( or X), and be done with it already! And put your efforts into maximizing your time and results.
Start Looking For And Or Become Part Of Some Type Of Paid Mastermind And Or Collaborative Support Group!
5.) Major critical mistake # five: You need to become part of some type of “Mastermind” and or support group asap! Because you and I definitely need that ongoing accountability, collaborative and creative support!
The right type of group will encourage, inspire and compel you to be your best more times than not! You’re not an island! So stop trying to run your business or service like you are!
6.) Major critical mistake # six: When you’ve turned over every single rock and gone as far as you can by your own initiative and creativity etc!
And you still don’t have the results you want.My friend, it’s time to hire another expert! Sometimes you need to invest in (either) a one time or ongoing coaching/consulting of some kind!
You’ve Definitely Got To Know When It’s Time To Hire A Coach And Or Mentor Or Two!
Hey, even Micheal Jordan had a coach! And Tony Robbins readily acknowledges he has mentors too!
7.) Major critical mistake # seven: And finally.. stop trying (desperately) to re-invent the wheel! i know you’ve heard that one before! But here’s part B to that far too common statement!
No matter what you’re into! Somebody has always, and already scaled the mountain of success!
And made all the mistakes you’re (either) about to make, and or already have made! And chances are they (either) have some type of info product that can and will save you a ton of time, frustration and money!
You Definitely Don’t Need To Try And Blaze the Trail Alone!
Or they offer some type of personalized, (and well worth it) one on one coaching and or mentoring to help you finally reach your goals!
So put your extremely limited resources into studying their proven blueprint!
And get over this obsession of yours of thinking you’ve got to be a pioneer! You don’t! Because chances are you and I simply don’t have what it takes to be trail blazers anyway!
So that my friend are the seven extremely critical mistakes, that successful entrepreneurs are wise enough to avoid! How about you? Now it’s your turn to share your thoughts below!

Hi Mark,
I learned a long time ago that it’s important to just get it out there. It’s really interesting if you think about it.
Why did Apple not break through in the 1990’s and Microsoft did?
One reason is that Apple had to be perfect. Microsoft didn’t. Microsoft is notorious for rolling out software that isn’t ready. How many Windows versions have come to market plagued with problems that they fixed as they went.
People complain about it, they didn’t like it, but they still bought it because it was there.
Apple wasn’t ready and as a result, they lost the PC wars. Now, they made it up by competing where there was no initial competition and they could afford to get it as perfect as possible in the beginning. But, that now has even swung back the other way next to Android.
I don’t want to suggest that you can launch a bad product. I just want to emphasize that if it’s as good as it’s going to get, then launch it with a premise that updates are coming soon.
One thing I enjoy doing now and then is just walking away for a day or two. It helps me recharge and get excited about getting back to work.
Love the post Mark. It’s been a while since we chatted last. Hope all is well!!!

What an awesome and totally true observation Don!
And BTW, let me just say before I go any further.
Your extremely well written headline caused me to actually stop!
Read it first, before I actually read your excellent comments!LOL!
Initially it was it’s entire length, but after reading it; I thought wow!
How bout that! And of course a guy as brilliant and practical as yourself would never suggest
anyone purposely launch a defective product!
But merely, as you so wisely pointed out,in Apple’s endless quest for illusive perfection! They ended up losing far
too much ground and it cost them!
Wonder how many times that same basic line of thinking has and will cost future entrepreneurs!
Thanks so much for sharing such an incredibly powerful and potentially tragic insight!
It’s much appreciated! I’m not sure which one, but several of videos will be appearing in more of my future
blog posts!
Well as a recovering perfectionist I can certainly attest to how destructive that can be. The thing most people who aren’t perfectionists fail to understand is it’s almost never about ego which means you can’t just get over yourself quite that easy but it can be done with self awareness and behavior modification. As far as the time issue, I couldn’t agree more with you about priorities. I also think it’s important to manage energy because no matter how focused one is on their priorities if they are down for the count at 3pm it’s going to be tough to make progress. Thanks for another great post Mark!

Two extremely excellent points Marquita!
And you articulated them both so eloquently! As only you can!
In fact, your reasoning is actually the basis for a follow up article and possibly follow
video as well!LOL! Thanks!
And you’re definitely speaking the truth as it relates to energy levels! More times than not, I’ve hit the wall
of creativity (or lack thereof!) right in the middle of partially completed blog post!LOL!
And had to simply leave until later. So I can definitely relate to what you’re saying there.
And just as the name o your post implies and refers, trying to work while suffering from a real
or total lack of energy.
You are most definitely going experience some type of stress!
Thanks for being so supportive and encouraging! And for your continuous support!
It’s all greatly appreciated!
