Why Out Promoting Your Big Buck Major Competitors Is Not Optional!

Why Out Promoting Your Big Buck Major Competitors Is Not Optional!

So are you strategically taking advantage of the Internet’s number one secret weapon? And what pray tell, might that be you ask? Email marketing what else? Of course you’re thinking, oh that.

Yea, well according to recent statistics, good old email marketing (when done) correctly, can still offer ROI”S (Return On Investment) of a staggering 43 to one! And the best part is, you and I don’t have to get anywhere near that type of overall return, in order to make effective email marketing profitable! And without a doubt,’it’s still one heck of an efficient way strategically of out promoting your big buck major competitors.

Because remember, that email still ranks in the top two or three activities that people do at least once or twice per day, while they’re online.

And since it’s really such an essential and affordable option, just depending on which paid autoresponder service that you ultimately choose, you can most certainly find one that fits both your budget and your particular business needs as well.

So it only stands to reason that every serious, cash strapped small business owner and or service provider should definitely be using inexpensive opt in email as a way to systematically follow up with their hottest prospects, customers and or clients!

Strategically Promoting Your Business, Product Or Service Doesn’t Have To Be Expensive!

Of course there’s a little more to it than simply composing a lame email message and pressing the send button. And hoping that at least some of your opt in subscribers click on one of you or your top joint venture partners links and ultimately purchases something.

If only…And here’s the other thing, keep in mine, let’s say your current opt in email list is 10,000 strong. Do you realize that if you send an email offering some product that cost just $27 and only one percent of your subscribers actually purchased it.

One percent of 10,000 equals 100 paying customers. (10,000 x.01%= 100 paying customers or clients.) which equals $2,700 dollars in gross revenue. ($27 dollars x 100 paying customers = $2,700 dollars in gross revenue.

Say what you want about that particular gross amount, but what you need to keep in mine. It’s extremely likely that if you mailed 10,000 postcards to your customers and received that exact same (dismal) one percent response rate.

That $2,700 dollar gross profit, in all likelihood, probably wouldn’t even cover your typesetting cost and postage etc.

The Real Beauty Of Strategic Email Marketing!

Now let’s take a play right out of the successful marketers hand book. Let’s take the once mighty Kmart for this particular hypothetical. As some of you may well know, you’ll notice a lot references to Kmart of a ton of my post.

And the main reason being, Kmart is still struggling to regain it’s footing in the marketplace. So they would probably welcome some market tested creative marketing alternatives.

For ex; watch how this extremely simple hypothetical marketing example, allows Kmart (or major retailer X) to build a huge opt in email list, while simultaneously decrease their ever expanding overhead.

Have noticed “how” several of the major big box retailers and local major grocery store chains, carry this DVD’s that offer two movies in one for a price, that’s slightly less than the normal retail cost for two? Meaning: you might see one movie (just depending) on how old it is, that normally retails say $7.99, but the cost of the two movie set is just $11.99

So here’s where Kmart goes all in! They simply place a bright yellow sticker on all the movies informing all their extremely valued customers that only their valued opt in email subscribers get any three movies for just $11.99!

In other words, the third movie is actually free! And they get any two movies for just $8.99! Plus, included with every two movie set purchase the customer automatically gets a free (totally unannounced)  $20 dollar gas with each purchase and a  free $50 dollar gas card with each three DVD set purchase!

Put Your Extremely Valued Customers First And The Money Will Surely Follow!

Now remember, these exclusive offers are only being extended to their extremely valued opt in email subscribers only!

That should instantly create some serious positive on and offline buzz! Would you not agree? And should cause more and more of their consumers to rush to join their list, right?

Which means, Kmart (or major retailer X) doesn’t have to spend nearly as much money each month, on outrageously expensive traditional advertising mediums, such as local TV and radio ads etc!

And they simply take a portion of each months saving and ply them back into ethically bribing their shoppers to join their list! and again, we’re talking basic opt in email marketing here! That’s all! But just by getting slightly strategic, Kmart or a savvy service provider is strategically out promoting their major competitors, for literally pennies on the   dollar! Don’t you agree?

  1. Very good advice on email marketing, Mark. It’s an area I’m going to ramp up this year. I keep seeing articles and emails that say that email marketing is dead, but that simply is not true. People who work hard on email marketing definitely see results. I appreciate your thoughts.

    All the best,
    Leslie

    • Here here!

You get an email from some guru telling you that email marketing is dead!LOL!

Then they proceed to try and sell us something via email.

So much for credibility!LOL! Effective email marketing is still extremely viable.

And thank goodness! As always I definitely appreciate you
adding to the conversation and for your continuous support!
