Entrepreneur, do you enjoy the outdoors? And without getting too involved here, are you environmentally conscious at all? If you’re not, no ones gonna lecture you or anything like that. So you can exhale.
But here’s the thing; have you ever really stopped to consider, just how much you can and should learn about long term success (and failure) for that matter, simply by observing good ole mother nature?
It’s true. Seriously. Granted, probably not the way you’re currently envisioning, but true nonetheless.
You’ve all probably heard the saying, “It’s not nice to fool with mother nature,” correct? Well, in this particular blog post, you are being highly encouraged to observe how mother nature does in fact demonstrate an incredibly powerful lesson, about what it takes, mentally & emotionally, in order to truly be successful.
Now this is not one of those straight forward things, but still in all, a powerful and much needed lesson is delivered courtesy of mother nature.
Can Mother Nature Really Teach You Anything Of Value About What It Really Takes To Be Successful?
Now entrepreneur, since your time is extremely valuable and limited. And cannot be replaced, if you’ll allow for a little leeway, let’s cut to the chase and the main gist of this post. Fair enough. Great.
Ever hear of super motivational and highly inspirational and extremely charismatic speaker Les brown? Figured (at least) some of you had. Les tells this incredibly powerful story about how somewhere in the Asian countries (please don’t) hold me to all the vital particulars!
(Especially if you’ve already heard Les share this powerful story before!) Anyway, seems there’s this tree they plant and water every single day for five straight years, come hell or high water!
(Quick note, other than breathing!) Can you honestly name anything (myself included!) that you’ve done every single day no matter what, for the last five years!) Other than eating and continuously breathing.
Anyway, here’s the thing and why I’m sharing this post. For those first 60 months (aka) first five years, or something close to that affect. Absolutely nothing happens! Huh? That’s correct!
Now if this plant had the success DNA make up of 98% of us! Myself included! The plant would (mistakenly conclude) this was a gigantic waste of time and effort and simply decide it wasn’t meant to be and give up! (Remember it’s the remaining two percent that consistently makes the really big money!)
Buckle Up! Because It Definitely Ain’t Gonna Happen Over Night!
Ah but you see entrepreneur, because it is ultimately mother nature in charge of this entire process. Guess what. During the last (either six or nine months) of this entire five year process.
That tree (or was it a plant?) grows more that the first four and and a half years! What’s the lesson you ask?
You/our journey to success, will take long continuous effort! Especially in the beginning and early stages! And during that time as we hone our craft and constantly develop our skills, it may seems at times that absolutely nothing is happening! On the surface or tangibly anyway!
Then, as is so often the case. As our skills of all sorts start to get better and better! And all of a sudden! Or so it seems, like a rocket you/we blast off and seemingly leap mountain after mountain of obstacles in a single bound! And major success, after major success seems to fall in our lap!
Baloney! It took all of those previous non tangible results, to make it possible to enjoy (and hopefully) appreciate those later tangible results, right! So that my friend, is the extremely powerful (and hopefully) in the not so distant future, extremely profitable lesson (s) about long term success, you (and I) can and should learn from good old mother nature! Any questions?

Hi Author,

Hi Mark. The only Les Brown I knew of before this was the guy whoor career singing with his band. She wanted to be a ballerina, but she broke her leg. Her mom knew Les Brown and got her the gig singing, and the rest is history.
I have a different view of mother nature than people. I know everyone is about saving this and saving that. But think about it. Is an animal that can only live in one environment or eat one specific thing worth saving?
The animals I root for are robins, coyotes, raccoons, and others who have learned to adapt to their environment and thrive. That is what survival of the species is all about. I love all animals – don’t get me wrong – but if we cannot adapt and thrive in our environment, we’re not going to go very far – or become extinct. Thanks for a great post.
All the best,
Leslie

Isn’t that the truth!
It seems no matter how you slice is Leslie, either you adapt in business or life or both! Both if you don’t
ultimately you will fail!
And sadly it seems in business or life, are geometrically opposed to adapting! Guess we
know what fate ultimately waits them don’t we? Thanks for stopping by
