So as you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series about how to promote your business on an extremely tight budget.
Lots of times, if you just look around with your creative marketing eyes, you can often discover tons of currently untapped opportunities for helping another profit seeking small business owner (and or) entrepreneur, simultaneously lower their traditional upfront out of pocket cost, while helping you systematically build your business as well.
Case in point: Ladies & gentlemen, (did you know) or have you heard, that way back during it’s original start up phase.
Actually they had been doing major business for quite a while! But (nevertheless), there was a time when you would walk into a Sears store and see little kiosk’s that mega Insurance conglomerate Allstate had set up, in order to do business right on the spot, with some of Sears’s loyal daily walk through customer base! (Of course you do know and understand that Sears in fact owned the auto mega conglomerate, up until about the mid 90’s right?)
Think about the incredible daily foot traffic they were able to take advantage of, seven days per week! Nationwide no less!
(And that doesn’t even take into account the mad rush (every year) during the year end holiday season stampede!)
And even if they only converted a measly one percent a year of all of those bodies, hopefully you can see “how” Insurance industry giant Allstate was able to eventually leverage all that business into literally millions of dollars in extra gross revenues to per year! Correct? Say yes!
Well entrepreneur, I submit to you, that exact same sort of currently untapped mega marketing leverage (opportunities) is available to you and I, on several different levels of course, in various forms! Practically everywhere!Seriously!
(Provided of course), that you learn to develop your long range (opportunistic) “think outside the box” marketing mindset.
“How To” Promote Your Business On An Extremely Tight Budget!
(Just Like The Ultimate Insiders Do!)
Case in point: First let’s take a look at a few rather “no brainer” type of potential long term, currently untapped marketing possibilities. Which have some serious long term money making potential!
Then we’ll switch gears and take a look (even further) under the hood (so to speak), at some other less obvious potential underground ninja marketing opportunities and strategies.
But first up: Here’s a really quick question for you. Have you ever ridden on a plane and ordered any type of beverage? And it doesn’t have to be alcohol BTW.
Wanna take a wild guess “how” many different airlines serve some type of paid alcoholic beverage, that one of their customers bought?
My personal educated guess is, that daily number would be awfully high, don’t you agree? Now then, so “why” don’t or “why” haven’t) the extremely savvy marketing departments for the airlines, got together with one or two of the most popular premium beverage suppliers to the airlines (and hotel industries too BTW!)
And whenever a paying customer orders any type of alcoholic beverage, the stewardess should immediately offer them a special VIP (affiliate coded) discount coupon, where the customer can go directly online and order two six packs of some extremely popular, high end premium (beer and or wine and or wine cooler etc) from some company the airlines is doing a joint venture/cross promotion with.
And the customer can get their first two six packs of premium beer and or wine delivered directly to their home for the price of one!
In other words, they are guaranteed X% of savings on their very first order!Just the suppliers way of saying “thank you” for becoming a brand new first time customer!
(Note: Because remember, to that point, all the airline (or company X) did was save the beverage supplier from spending the traditional 500% more in up front, out of pocket cost, in order to initially find that all important, first time customer!) Entrepreneur, “what’s” that worth to any serious business owner, small or otherwise?
This Is Currently Untapped Business Just Waiting To Happen!
(Don’t You Agree?)
And because the airlines is their affiliate, they receive X% per initial front end sale, plus X% of any and all future sales the customer makes on the suppliers state of the art (mobile responsive) WordPress blog!
Plus, the airlines will tie the customers yearly online gross purchases from the beverage supplier, to a sort of ongoing points system, so that at the end of every fiscal year, the customer can apply all of those total points to (any) and all current frequent flyer miles they may already have with that particular airline! “How” cool is that?
Now stop and think about the outrageous potential long term marketing leverage, with this one particular approach! (Just for starters!) We’ll definitely pick up even more steam in part three!
Let Each Proven Marketing Step Strategically Lead To Another!
But for now: since the customer took advantage and ordered (let’s) say that initial double six pack (new customer offer) for the price of one, plus free shipping on their very first order!
Let’s say they absolutely love (both) the premium beer and upscale wine they ordered! (Two things!)
A.) Think they’ll mention it to anybody? Repeatedly! Both on and offline! Plus on the job and at each and every social event they attend! Entrepreneur, can you say bingo!
B.) Think they’ll order a few for close friends, relatives, in -laws and co-workers, kids and or respected colleagues around the holiday season, or for birthdays and anniversaries etc? You’d better hurry up and know it!
Can you (hopefully) now see “why” it makes total sense for the airlines (and or) extremely savvy marketing company X to do both a joint venture and or cross promotion of some kind with the beverage supplier asap! Say yes!
Because remember, every time that customer orders from the beverage suppliers state of the art WordPress blog, the airlines earns an affiliate commission of some kind! Make sense?

Hi Mark,
This is a great topic because, I think you can agree, most starting out don’t have too many coins to throw around.
I had no idea Allstate did that. I wouldn’t even think to find that in a Sears store.
You’ve noted some interesting and creative partnerships opening our eyes to what is possible and out of the box.
Truly creative!
