How Some Really Simple Creative Marketing Ideas Made This Entrepreneur A Fortune!

  (Even Though When He Initially Started Out There Was Virtually No Internet And Absolutely No Social Media!)

When you mention one of the longest running financial shows which focused primarily on “how to” build wealth through real estate investing.

The name Dave Del Dotto will definitely be at or near the top of practically every list. And for very good reasons. Dave parlayed his financial information publishing venture as well as his paid live four and eight hour workshops.

Coupled with his high end mastermind retreats into a multi million dollar a year mega cash cow. And the fact he along with several others did it pre-Internet. For Dave and his inhouse promotional team of experts. He/they primarily relied on some rather simple, yet proven creative marketing ideas and strategies.

And the fact he did it without the use of any type of formalized social media marketing whatsoever is beyond impressive. Don’t you agree?

Those Info Pioneers Who Successfully Marketed Before Both The Internet And Social Media Existed! ( Are Proof Implementing The Right Revenue Generation Activities Are Really What Counts!)

Case in point. Whenever Dave traveled across America promoting his two or three day live workshop events. Typically he (meaning his expert marketing/promotional team) would start running his paid 30-60 minute info-mercials on various local channels.

This way his ideal prospects could call the toll free number in order to register for his free 90-120 minute introductory workshop.

And typically on the back end of his outrageously successful direct response sales funnel. Dave and his team would market/promote his most popular  paid info products and services.

If his primary goal was to sell his high end 2-3 three day live boot camp educational events in the same hotel during Thursday – Saturday. Or Just Friday & Saturday of the same week.

He usually employed a few different, (yet standard) marketing/power list building strategies. On the other hand, if his primary goal was to sell as many of his incredibly popular home study courses.

Which back then retailed for just $297 dollars. (And of course on the back end he heavily marketed his various higher end paid coaching programs.

Which by then he had trained sales reps who worked along side Dave and those interested individuals invested thousands of dollars to be part of this inner circle group.

Funny How Power List Building 101 On Or offline Is Still A Basic Bread And Butter Marketing Strategy!

Take a look at the screenshot image below. Which came directly off ebay BTW. Which means Dave’s courses, video recordings of his outrageously popular live workshops as well as his mega best selling books are still being sold to this day.

But back when Dave and some of his contemporaries like Robert “Mr. Nothing Down” Allen and Russ Whitney were really in their respective hey days. The Internet as we all know it today. Basically was just starting to be a potential marketing tool.

And absolutely no one had even thought of social media yet. However, because Dave and his team of PR (Public Relations) and promotional experts were also extremely savvy marketers.

Dave knew almost going in the enormous back end marketing potential of building his own offline database. Which is “why” he and his team would offer free database (list building) drawings at both the beginning and end of his free 90-120 minute events.

It’s probably hard to see. But the above screenshot is of one of Dave’s most popular products. Which in reality was a combination of five different info products.

On the left side is eight cassette recordings of Dave’s live eight hour “How To Make A Fortune In Foreclosures” event. And the featured image at the top is actually the cover which encased the cassettes. But he also had a separate workbook to accompany the cassettes as well.

This way the customer/students could see actual copies of some of both Dave and some of his most successful proven classified ads, direct snail mail post cards or successful display ads they ran in local newspapers and or local throwaway guides.

As well as some of their most successful direct letters or snail mail postcards they periodically mailed to local professionals and or local associations. Like local real estate brokers, CPA’s,  reputable estate planners, CFP’s or local attorneys who specialized in successfully dealing with individuals potentially facing the dreaded foreclosure process.

Building Your Own Opt In Email Or Offline Database Is Definitely A Proven Marketing Fundamental!

At the very beginning of his free 90-120 minute introductory workshops. Dave or later on one of his personally trained sales reps who were giving the presentation. In order to quickly weed out those who were primarily there just to get as much free stuff as possible.

 And in all likelihood weren’t going to ever spend a nickel on any of his products or services. Dave’s team would instruct those members of the audience to simply print their name and address and best phone number on a single (sometimes (two sided) post card and drop it in a box on the table in the front of the room.

This was anyone who knew going in they were not coming back after day one. And they could instantly win one of Dave’s two or four cassette only studio or live recordings.

Or a video recording of a four or eight hour recording on either making money investing in foreclosures. Or “how to” buy either your home or investment property using the “Lease With Option” investment strategy.

Understanding Ethical Bribery 101  Strategies And Tactics Certainly Doesn’t Hurt!

And Dave or his or his extremely savvy marketing team made it crystal clear. As long as they provided accurate snail mail information. About once every 90 days or so. They would receive either extremely time sensitive phone calls and or direct snail mail alerts.

Where they could call his toll free 800 number and purchase via credit card any one info product of their choice currently in stock. (But not including any of his live three to five day boot camp mastermind  or high end  one on one coaching events and or packages.)

But for an extremely limited time they could save anywhere from 20-60 or X% off the cost of either a single workbook. (Like maybe his popular “How To” make a fortune in foreclosure workbook.

Or maybe his “Money & Credit workbook. Or his “101 Creative Ways To Buy Real Estate! (Using None Of Your Own Money Methods!) Or his “Equity Sharing” (Property Investments Secrets!) workbook.

Or his mega best selling “Success Express” or “his mega best selling “How To Make Nothing But Money!” book. And of course no matter “what” if anything the database subscriber actually purchased.

They were always offered some type of extremely time sensitive, one time only (“OTO”) upsell offer. As well as when the actual order is mailed out. It always included at least one of  Dave’s best market tested, extremely time sensitive discounted price upsell offers.

Once You Establish Some Of Your Best Market tested Offers! (You Or Your Major Competitors Can Start Generating Consistent Cash Flow!

And what Dave would frequently do is offer a free drawing for every attendee who stayed to the last day of either the two or three day free introductory event.

If they were the 1st grand prize winner. And as long as Dave ‘s team had an accurate first & last name and best phone number. And accurate physical mailing address. (No P.O. boxes.)

Then they won Dave’s outrageously popular  entire “Cash Flow System” home study course. (Which in itself was a $297 dollar value. Plus they could also choose any one of Dave’s popular 8 hour video recordings. Which easily made it a $297 dollar plus value.

And one 2nd prize grand winner automatically won their choice of any three of Dave’s previously described workbooks only. But for a savings of 40 or X% off they could also purchase any accompanying cassettes.

Provided Dave had their accurate contact info. Otherwise they could still purchase any accompanying cassettes of their choice. But they pay the full current retail price.

And one 3rd grand prize winner could choose Dave’s “How To Make A Fortune In Foreclosure” workbook only. Or the other two part cassette live or studio recordings of their choice.

Entrepreneur Whenever You Hear The Term Multiple Streams Of Income Producing Activities! ( It’s Definitely Not A Misstatement!)

And obviously a certain percentage of those three month trial subscriptions ultimately converted into paid annual subscribers. Hopefully at least some of his creative marketing ideas and strategies.
