So as you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series about “how” savvy entrepreneurs such as yourself and or someone you know and respect, can still leverage the enormous power of the Internet.
Even if they’re initially severely cash strapped. Now hopefully, part one did not leave any of the faithful under the mistaken impression that somehow starting off (initially) with very little up front capital and boost strapping your way up is somehow easy!
Because rest assured it is not! In fact, truth told, starting off in that unenviable position is no picnic! And your challenges are actually compounded! But like most things in life, there are some creative ways to compete.
But you’re simply going to have apply a whole lot more (creative entrepreneurial) and physical elbow grease, in order to get things going!
And (believe it or not) the Internet and some of the additional free and or low cost tools that you’re about to be exposed to, is a great way to accomplish that!….
So if up to this point in your not so stellar entrepreneurial journey, you thought your initial lack of capital was going to keep your entrepreneurial dream and or vision from eventually becoming a reality!Cheer up my friend! Because your low cost, high powered entrepreneurial solution has just arrived!….
How Even Severely Cash Strapped Start Up Entrepreneurs Can Successfully Leverage The Internet!
Now just to quickly recap, in order to move forward. As you recall (our hero), was a recent college grad, that was now also a grad student and (sadly) like countless others in the exact same boat, found themselves flush with really nice degrees and advanced degrees of various sorts, under employed, if employed at all! And facing a mountain of debt, courtesy of student loans!
And faced with this rather dismal reality, they did what several of their peers had done. They simply took a rather low paying job that absolutely had nothing to do with the area they have degrees and or advanced degrees in! Sound all too familiar?
Anyway, our hero finds themselves subletting an upstairs four bedroom apartment, along with three other struggling grad students, barely making ends meet!
But at least for now, they’re currently averaging between 24 -29 hours per week at the down stairs pizza shop! And since they’ve been told by countless well meaning friends, significant others, spouses and or family members as well. And since they’re also constantly doing their own online research too.
They’re totally convinced that they can somehow leverage and parlay their much touted expertise in advanced mathematics and their passion for teaching it, into some sort of business online. Even though at this particular time, it’ tough to rub to spare nickels together!
Besides, they’ve recently started downloading some of those really intriguing free ebooks (and or) PDF’s that promise to show them “how to” make a fortune online! Starting with very little of your own money and a free on no website! So things are most certainly looking up!
Successful Boost Strapping Does Most Certainly Cost Time And Some Serious Elbow Grease!
Since they learned they don’t necessarily have to have a website, but if they want one, they can get a free one and get this online going. So that’s where they get introduced to two additional (free) resources in order to build their very first websites. One being weebly.com and the other being blinkweb.com.
Now, finally they’re starting to get somewhere with this online marketing thing! Now here’s the other thing; in part one it was suggested that for low cost marketing purposes, they simply create a series of step by step “how to” intro screen capture videos, that show off and demonstrate their proficiency in math!
And load them up to good old youtube and leave their skype address and or newly created weebly and or blinkweb addresses in the videos.
First of all, in all probability and likelihood, since they haven’t spent the last four or five years diligently studying (both) successful video marketing strategies and or proven SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies either!
Which means more than likely, their initial 3-7 minute videos may not necessarily rank very well on youtube and therefore (initially) anyway, bring them very little targeted traffic, agreed? So therefore they may need to resort to some more traditional offline low cost common sense marketing methods and or strategies etc!
And since they currently work in a fairly popular pizza shop, that gets frequented by lots of working class adults, HS students and the like. Why not do a simple A/B marketing split test.
Every other week, place a sign with big red letters on the public bullet board that simply says, “Need expert help with those tricky math quizzes?” And the next week, try another sign that reads, “Tired Of Struggling With Your Math Homework?”
And merely go on to list some of the benefits and highlights of which particular specialties you offer by way of private hourly expert math tutoring and or discounted group plan rates available during certain hours etc!
And list your new web address on it, which in reality is simply your low cost lead capture page.
Try Not To Get Too Caught Up In Not Investing Any Money In Your Business!
The point is, you’ll be strategically leveraging that daily foot traffic! It can’t hurt right? And if they have more than one location, once you discover which sign works best, put it in both locations! Besides…
The worse that can probably happen is you get a few non qualified inquirers here and there! And how much will two hand made signs really cost you?
You can also reach out to a few local churches and or youth groups, to see if they need private math tutors to help kids 12-16 with their math learning issues etc!
The main point is entrepreneur, just because your initially cash strapped, doesn’t mean you can’t start slow and boot strap yourself into some real potential long term money making opportunities! Don’t you agree? Just as a quick side note. Those two free web site building editors that were previously mentioned.
Because they’re providing you with free hosting. Your site domain name will be prefaced with their company name. For ex: your domain name might be something like yourfavoritemathtutor.weeblycom, and or yourfavoritemathtutor.blinkweb.com .
However, if you prefer, you can simply purchase a domain name of your choice and that way, your entire domain name is the only thing that appears! And your hosting on their server is still free! Pretty cool right?
And if need be, initially in order to keep your cost down, as much as possible, you could use mailchimps paid autoresponder service to capture email addresses and build your list.
Because they will allow you to (as of this writing) add your first 2,000 names and send up to a staggering 12,000 per month for free, before they start charging you a monthly fee! All in all, hopefully you can see and at least partially agree, that just because savvy entrepreneurs are initially under capitalized!
(FYI: Please note: Obviously there are certain limitations to Mailchimps free service! Not all of their features and or benefits can be accessed with your free account!)
It’s not quite the major obstacle that it used to be? Don’t you agree?

Hi Mark,
First off, Congratulations for being featured on Enstine’s blog today (2/12/2015).
Great information for people starting out without much to spend. The one thing I would strongly urge people is to NOT use a free service for blogging if at all possible or if you have to, transfer to a paid host ASAP. A free service can delete or dump your account for no reason and no warning.
That’s the truth Monna!
I’ve been there and don that! So I can definitely attest to what you speak!
I experienced it first hand via good old hubpages! But in hindsight, it was the best thing that could have happened!
Because it forced me to get my WordPress blog up asap!LOL! Thank you again for your extremely kind
words that you left on Enstine’s blog!
My head is so swelled right about now!!LOl!
Continued success! BTW how are you coming with you novel? Did you write your 50,000
words yet?
