How To Generate Leads That Actually Convert Without A Ton Of Follow Up!

You’ve heard that the best sales reps, the ones that typically earn six figures a year and up! They typically follow up, somewhere in the neighborhood of seven to twelve times before they actually close their prospects.

Pretty standard, right? Isn’t time you discovered how to generate leads that actually convert, without having to rely on all the that time consuming (but totally necessary) follow up process?

Well, if you’ll simply adjust your business model ever so slightly, you can bypass the entire standard lead generation process, followed by the time consumer follow up process.

Probably not the way you might think. While there’s lots of proven ways to lead generate. The following example is being revealed, to demonstrate how and why you can always apply some battlefield tested, think outside the box type of marketing tactic and or strategies.

Let’s say you own a local bakery that’s family style orientated and you’re ready to grab some market share, but you don’t want to have to go about it  like a staggering 90% or more of your major competitors do.

You’re all for implementing proven lead generation strategies, especially if they’re low cost and non techie.

It’s just that you just don’t want to have to wade through  the next seven to  twelve follow ups! Sound familiar? You or one or your best workers actively go looking for some major local construction sites. So here’s what you  (or your top) assistant does. If need be, you set an appointment to see the person in charge of overseeing and managing the construction site. Either in person or over the phone (initially), you introduce yourself and your company and offer to bring free of charge of course, $200 dollars worth of doughnuts, bagels, coffee and some of your most popular pastries etc!

Tasty samples if you will. You make it clear that your intentions are to introduce the crew to your tasty treats! In the hopes of generating some brand new first time customers.

Why Not Strategically Convert Initially Free Samples Into Systematic Long Term Profits!

But here’s what you’re proposing long term. You find out from the general manager, how many of the workers want to receive your special VIP new customer only discount cards.

They simply need to sign the back of them and write the month and day of their birthday. And when they bring it in to your bakery for the very first time, it automatically gets laminated!

And on your two traditionally slowest days, like Tuesdays & Thursdays, a large cup of coffee that normally cost $3.79, when they present their cards, now it’s only $1.09 each!

Plus, they always get 15%  (or X %) off every purchase! And when they present their card on their birthday, they automatically get a free large coffee and 40% off their entire order!

Hopefully, you can see and appreciate how this incredibly simple marketing strategy, (or a variation thereof) helps you (initially) lead generate for literally pennies on the dollar. But by pass the all important (traditional) follow up process! You can see it right?

  1. Another great strategy Mark! If I may I’d like to add one tiny little tip to save some headaches. Sometimes companies have restrictions about working with vendors outside of approved channels. In fact most of the companies I’ve worked for prohibit employees from taking gifts or samples of any kind from vendors.

    It’s a terrific idea, just suggesting it’s good to be prepared to ask the right questions. If the gatekeeper (person who fields the boss’s calls) is any good at all, she/he will know the answers.

      Your point (which is excellent BTW!) is well taken! But what really needs to be done further now (on my) and any
      other savvy marketers part, is to develop a sort of marketing checklist of maybe 5 -10 do’s & don’t’s of a really
      proactive marketing strategy that I’m advocating for!LOL!

      That way, a potential marketer could at least sort of both anticipate and potentially put themselves
      in a far more strategic way of effectively responding to any potential blow back!

      So that some above board, really proactive, mutually beneficial marketing alternatives can be discovered or at least discussed!
