So when’s the last time you and or your business, (and or) some of your top (on or offline) strategic alliance partners (aka) joint venture partners, came together (and had) a meeting of the minds if you will, in order to accomplish some high level fundraising.
Has it really been that long? Here’s the reason I ask. You do “know” and realize that strategic fundraising is job one for at least 95% or more, of most charities,correct?
Because without that continuous in flow of brand new funds (cash), (of all amounts BTW) they are in real danger of meeting the exact same fate as the run of the mill ponzi scheme!
Meaning; the moment the new funds cease or start to dry up, the mighty empire will ultimately crash and burn!Which means, reputable charities are more than willing to listen to your pro-active fundraising and equally important, they already have the all important infrastructure built, to help fast track the entire process!
So How And Why Does Some Local Fundraising Help Your Business Become More Profitable?
For this particular (hypothetical marketing example), let’s take a high gross profit margin (local) appliance center.But rest assured, these examples could just as easily work for a high gross profit margin retail furniture store and or jeweler.
So here’s “what” this extremely savvy appliance dealer might do in order to not only (really) get the (on and offline) positive word of mouth buzz going!But strategically put it into overdrive and then some!
“How” you so skeptically ask?Well for starters, you know all too well that (just like every other business owner and or service provider), at least a percentage of their extremely valuable customer and repeat customer base, is extremely high end! Correct? Absolutely!
Which means every month, (let’s) say somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-20% (of their) 20% high end repeat customer base, are definitely the ones that consistently spends most of the money!Right? Hopefully that’s not too complicated of a marketing concept to comprehend? 😎
So let’s use some numbers to fully demonstrate exactly what’s going on here.
Each month about ten or twenty high end repeat VIP customers spend anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 dollars on all types of fancy high end (state of the art) electronic toys and goodies,right?
Powerful On And Offline Positive Word Of Mouth And Mouse Marketing Is Definitely Where It’s At!
You know, stuff like $6,500- $10,000 dollar home entertainment systems and 75 inch flat screen TV’s etc!And $2,000 dollar “James Bond” type of outdoor grills and other totally unnecessary accessories etc. 😎
And you know whenever they and or their kids are entertaining close friends,co-workers, and or relatives etc. Which is frequently and more like just plain showing off! 😎
Invariably the question will constantly come up of “where” did they get it and “how” much did they pay, correct? Of course!So this is “why” the extremely savvy appliance dealer will make a cozy arrangement with their JV partner the high end local jeweler!
This way, they can give each one of those highly influential ten to twenty customers (either) $1,000 dollar his or necklaces, they got courtesy of their jeweler JV partner, but got them at the jewelers actual cost, of say $250 dollars each!(Or X.)
And also strictly for the ladies, they get their choice of a beautiful extremely eye catching gold necklace, that would normally retail for $1,000 dollars, plus two beautiful(“where in the heck did you get those?”) diamond studded earrings, that would normally retail for an additional $400 dollars! Huh?
This way whenever the ladies are out and around town. And or attending a local premiere and or being a social butterfly and posting on Facebook, Instagram and or Pinterest or tweeting or texting whomever! 😎 Or if they’re on the job or (if) they happen to own their own business and or service, or if they’re an active soccer Mom etc!
At least some of the time, they’ll mention (and or will be constantly asked about) their extremely good fortune! 😎 Don’t you agree?
How And Why Local Charities Can And Should Play A Major Part In Your Long Term Business Growth!
Now as is customary during this part of our show.
So “where” or “how” does this whole fundraising angle come into play here? Here’s one way: the very next time that savvy appliance center gets some brand new (state of the art) futuristic type of inventory, do you think any of those ten or twenty high end repeat VIP customers will have a problem with getting advanced (even ahead) of the general public notice of a special weekend “closed to the genera public sales event!”
What are you kidding? 😎 But here’s the thing, the appliance dealer will approach a local charity with the following proposition.
“If'” the charity “alerts” their entire on and offline database (by either) snail mail, email and or text message etc,to go to the appliance dealers special webpage on their WordPress blog and buy anything during the next ten days!
The appliance center will automatically donate 30% of all the proceeds to that particular charity!Pretty cool right?
But that’s not all! Here’s what else the extremely savvy appliance dealer will do!Every attendee of the “closed to the general public sales event”, that does the following two things,(A.) First, if they bring anything valued at $50 dollars or more and donate it to the charity! (B.) And bring at least one person with them to the live event, that’s 18 and over!
They can automatically enter a “raffle” where they spend just $100 dollars each and that entry fee buys them a shot a purchasing a 75 inch flat screen TV that would normally retail for somewhere between $899 -$1,199!
Or if they prefer, they can spend a one time “raffle” entry fee of just $500 dollars, for a chance to purchase a $4,500 dollar home entertainment system that is slightly used, because it was recently repossessed for non payment! 😎
Now in part two, we’ll get into even more of the nitty gritty details of “how” much the local charity receives just from each of these “raffle” events!
