For Now Forget All The Fancy Marketing Gimmicks!

   (And Let’s Get Back To The Basics ASAP!)

Recently on Linkedin a young woman was promoting her hand made art work portraits which she draws by pencil. And it was a portrait of another

young woman and it was very impressive for sure. And obviously she doesn’t have direct or indirect access to any type of incredibly large advertising, marketing or promotional budget.

Which doesn’t mean she,you or I can’t still make a go of things, correct? In fact starting from exactly where she is with nothing more than her current circle of personal and professional inner circle of connections. And a little steady marketing or promotional creativity.

She can get the word out both on and offline about her awesome skills. And even though she may not currently have a huge social media following. Given some time and strategic A/B split testing and constantly utilizing some basic marketing strategies and tactics. She or you and I can definitely make a real go of things.

And not once have to rely on any type of non sustainable marketing gimmicks of any kind. And who knows. Ultimately one of her additional streams of income could be or gradually become one on one coaching or consulting.

For other aspiring men & women who do her exact same type of hand art in different parts of the world. Because those aspiring entrepreneurs, while incredibly talented and extremely dedicated to their crafts. May not have developed basic marketing, advertising or promotional skills just yet, agreed?

Entrepreneur There Is Definitely A Reason They Refer To Them As Guerilla Marketing Ideas And Tactics!

First of all let’s state and emphasize what’s hopefully semi obvious to this point. The promoters who have direct or indirect access to extremely large corporate backing. You and I as tiny startups simply have no business whatsoever trying to go head to head with in any way or fashion. Because even if they’re using outrageously expensive, dismally performing traditional advertising or promotional methods of any kind.

Unlike you and I and 99.99% of their other, smaller far less capitalized competitors. They can keep their message in front of the general public a whole lot longer. Don’t you agree?

This being the case. This particular guerilla marketing hand art expert has got to get or become creative. Especially in the beginning. Let’s say to this point she doesn’t even have a state of the art WordPress website of any kind. Because for any number of reasons her money is just that tight. Clearly she, and potentially far more importantly, at least some of her current and future customers are extremely active on the various social media platforms, correct?

So she, you and I would be extremely wise to leverage this all too common situation for all it’s worth. Say what? And “how” you so skeptically ask? First, wherever she or her sister(s), mom, (if she’s still alive) or her besties currently get their hair or nails done.

As soon as she has some sort of repo ire with the owner(s) of a few local hair or nail salons. Here’s at least one of the proven, extremely low cost, high powered word of mouth or mouse marketing/promotional strategies she should at least  inexpensively test.

Ever Notice How How Your Local Supermarket Periodically Sets Up Temporary Stands At The End Of Certain Aisles? (And Strategically Passes Out Extremely Tasty Samples!)

She offers to do hand portraits of both the owner(s) of the nail or hair salons and at least one of their kids to begin with. Say what? With the condition being the hair or nail salon owner will gladly hang both portraits in their salons.

So that all of their current and future stylist, customers, vendors or suppliers can see them. And you know with this one particular guerilla marketing strategy alone. At least some of those daily, weekly or monthly eyeballs exposed to her talent will want one for either themselves or their kids, spouse, live in significant other or mom etc.

And while she’ll initially do the owner(s) of each hair or nail salon at her actual hard cost of X. as long as the owner(s) allow her to leave her one or two sided price leaflets in the those shops.

She’ll gladly give the current and future stylists X% off for life. Whether they remain an active stylist of that particular salon or not. And by extension the current and future customers of the salon also get a locked in discount percentage of X% off as well.

You Reward All Of Your Current And Future Customers And Strategic Alliance Partner! (But Just Be Or Quickly Become Strategic About It!)

But obviously their lifetime discount percentage won’t be nearly as good as either the owner(s) or their current and future stylist. And here’s the other added marketing bonus or two.

You know at least some of those customers will definitely constantly take selfies or post video clips of either their portraits or the portraits of their kids, spouse or live in significant other, right?

And send images to their besties plus constantly be showing off pictures of their portraits at work or their place of business, agreed. Entrepreneur hopefully you can or at least you’re starting to appreciate “why” you and I or this aspiring young hand art doesn’t need any type of so called marketing gimmicks in order to make a real go of things. Don’t you agree?
