So “how” many foreign languages do you currently speak fluently? Or do you only speak one language fluently? It doesn’t matter! But you’d probably agree that learning a foreign language can be a daunting task, is it not? Because there are a lot of nuances.
And even after you start to get semi fluent at any particular one, you start to realize “how” many different layers there are to any specific language. So if you’ve decided to learn a foreign language, this post will really come in handy!(Sort of!)
Five Ways Learning A Foreign Language Is A lot like Running A Successful Business!
Remember the first time you actually heard a foreign language? You couldn’t make heads or tales out of it, correct? Just like progressing in your business,right! Yep! Here are five eerie similar ways learning a foreign language is a lot like running a successful business.
1.) Similarity # one: Once you actually learned “how to” finally speak a foreign language (or two), did someone else do it for you? Or did you actually have to learn to speak the words yourself?
The lesson? Nobody can (or will) do what you need to do for you! In order for you to become successful!
2.) Similarity #two: The more fluent you became in the language, the more nuances you learned, correct? What’s the lesson? Learning to become successful in business (and life) in general, requires you to adapt and grow! And adapt and grow!Does it not? (Let the adapting begin!)
What’s the lesson? You’ll get your best education about running a successful business, first by studying under real successful business owners. Then by actually going into business yourself! That’s when you’ll actually learn to apply the theory you’re being exposed to! (And yes, sometimes your life education is painful!)
4.) Similarity #four: What happened to your competency level as you spoke the language more and more? What’s the lesson? The more you practice being successful in business, guess what?
5.) Similarity #five: And finally… As you become fluent in a foreign language, you begin to realize and appreciate what a tremendous potential asset it can become!
What’s the lesson? Your business small or otherwise, has the potential of becoming, not just something that you generate income from! But possibly a vehicle to create a lifetime of wealth and possibly an asset that you can pass on to others!
By no stretch of the imagination, is anyone suggesting it’s a walk in the park to become fluent in a foreign language or two! But in the end, it’s certainly worth the effort involved! Would you not agree?
