  1. Great little video from BuzzFeed! Simple, brief, and packed with yummy tidbits.

I find listening to new music is far more distracting, though, because then I’m divided between listening and writing… my favourite music grounds me and then fades away into the background, while I’m carried away by my writing. We’re all different, I guess.

And I’m not much good for anything first thing in the morning, so maybe writing then will get those creative juices flowing, and give me energy for the day. Hmmm…

    • Yea, we all definitely have our own way!

But what’s really important is, as you say to find our favorite way and or place and then
reinforce whatever brings out the best in us!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your extremely valuable thoughts and
      for your continuous support!

I definitely appreciate both! BTW, how are you coming how are you coming with your
      book project?

  2. Great advice Mark and I especially like your advice about setting aside quiet time to be creative. Focus makes a big difference.

Like Donna I tend to suffer from too many ideas and I’m always having to reign myself in. As much as I enjoy being a solopreneur, I’m clearly an idea person and a starter because I get really bored in the process phase in virtually have to drag myself over the finish line at time.

At least I’m aware of it so I work extra hard to compensate, but one of my goals for the new year is to build my “virtual” team so that I can get back to focusing on what I do best. Thanks for another motivational post!

    • That’s awesome Marquita!

That’s so funny, because like you I tend to be just loaded with energy when it comes to starting new
projects! I doubt seriously if even hall of fame track and field legend “Carl Lewis” comes
out of the blocks faster than I do!LOL!

But just like you, I tend to quickly find my focus fading after the initial start up (honey moon) phase
      is over!LOL!

I’m definitely the idea or initial spark guy!LOL!

I’m so ready to move on! I guess that’s why blogging is such a natural activity for me.
I can’t write or draft a gazillion post and not spend a ton of time on
      them!

But it’s great that you find the focus to finish your projects M! otherwise we would all miss out! Thanks so
much for sharing your extremely valuable content!

And for your continuous support! I truly appreciate both!

  3. Hi Mark,

Sometimes I think I am too creative lol. I do have to stay focused, and that’s why I carry a 20th century pad and pen with me. I get ideas all the time so I need to stop and write them down wherever I go. I find that this helps so much.

The best take away for me here is #2 rewarding yourself. It is positive reinforcement! I do have those little gold star stickers in my desk. You know, like the ones you get when you are a kid in school. Whenever I can check off a problem, I stick a gold star on myself. Hey, neurolinking works for me!

Sometimes after a huge project that is completed, I will go out and buy myself a treat….It can be dinner with hubby, or a pair of shoes I don’t really need, but makes me look Fab! (girly thing)

But I find it imperative to give ourselves a pat on the back because it helps us to keep on going and improving.

    Thanks for a terrific post!

    • I think that’s awesome Donna!

And I completely agree! You should acknowledge whenever mission is accomplished!

And like you I always find myself jotting down little notes to myself for different ideas for this and that!

Because as your day gets going, you forget or somehow you get distracted etc.

Another really cool project of mine is, whenever I’m physically in a store of any kind or size.

I love to observe how the phone is answered, the customer service interactions, how or if potential
customers are greeted when first enter or exit th store.

How the vendors are treated. And I love to take note of the physical store layout.

It all totally fascinates me to no end!LOL! And I always walk away with some type of inspiration and
      insight or two!

I guess we marketers just drink from a different cup!LOL! Thanks as always for sharing your extremely
valuable insights and for continuous support! I truly appreciate both!
