So do you ever wish that you simply had just a little more time? Especially with regards to doing the stuff you truly love and enjoy? Absolutely. But then again, when you really drill down and start accurately accounting for your time, you start to notice the rather sizable gaps in your day, when you’re not really being all that productive right?
So really, one of the truly critical keys to consistently being far more productive is in (first) recognizing where you may be dropping the ball far too often, during the course of your seven day week and immediately minimizing and or eliminating those non productive gaps altogether, right?
Case in point; let’s suppose that during any seven day period, there is at least 90 minutes per day, that when you really document what’s going on throughout you entire day, you’ve got at least 90 minutes worth of truly non productive time. My friend if you’ll multiply 90 minutes times seven days. Guess what you just discovered?
That’s right! You just found an additional six and a half hours to convert into some real (long term ) money making activities! Now just for the sake of a (hopefully) eye opening example!
Let’s say that you currently value and actually bill your customers or clients on a hourly basis. And your current rate per hour is $200 dollars (or X.) The actual number here, is not nearly as important as you just recognizing and acknowledging the overall concept here.
$200 dollars per hour X 6.5 hours (potentially) equals an additional $1,300 gross profit that could be going into your bank account, per week! Or an additional $5,200 dollars more that month! ($200 dollars P H X 6.5 hours per week = $1,300 extra gross profit per week!
Multiply $1,300 dollars gross profit X a four or five week month and hopefully, you’re starting to realize why you’d better get a much better grip on your processes asap! Agreed?
Five Proven Ways To Dramatically Increase Your Overall Productivity Especially When You Simply Don’t Have Any Extra Time!
Hopefully, that opening paragraph was a real eye opener, was it not? Because better efficiency leads to better overall productivity, which in terms (should) ultimately lead to more long term profitability.
Don’t you agree? So let’s quickly turn your attention to five proven ways to (either) dramatically improve your overall productivity and or allow you to systematically gain some extra time, throughout the course of your entire week.
Because either option or accomplishing both, will ultimately lead you to the exact same place.
1.) Increasing productivity secret # one: First of all, in her totally excellent post about strategically using six steps to being able to start up a business, even when you have an extremely busy lifestyle!
Small business start up specialist Naomi Dinsmore points out, often you exchange favors with friends, family or even your next door teenage baby sitter if need be! In order to free up some of your extremely valuable time! And by the same token, if as you discovered in the opening paragraph that your time is worth at least $100 dollars an hour or more.
If your local teenage baby sitter neighbor or one of your kids or nieces or nephews is responsible enough! Why not send them to the grocery store, to at least do part of your non essential grocery shopping!
Hey, if it’s gonna take them at least an hour and you value your billable time at $100 dollars an hour or more! You could easily pay then $15 dollars to do at least part of your non essential shopping. They just grossed $15 dollars for their trouble! (That pay rate per hour is at least equivalent to what they’d make for flipping a burger right?)
And you could invest that hour (either) completing another blog post or use it to record a short “how to” problem solving video as well, correct?
And both of those pieces of content may (ultimately) end up ranking well in the search engines and bringing you highly targeted traffic for months if not years! And thus, help you continually build your opt in email list and sell (either) your products and services, or some of your affiliate products or services, right?
2.) Increasing productivity secret # two: Strategy # two: Once you identify and recognize that you just found an additional six and a half hours per week! Now you can ( and definitely should) devote an additional two -three hours strategically commenting on other influential bloggers blog post!
And further building your all important, online relationships!
A Little Daily Exercise Of Some Kind Never Hurt Your Overall Productivity Either!
3.)Increasing productivity secret # three: While your walking the dog each day or early in the morning and or early evening etc.Be sure you’ve got (either) your MP3 player or something (even if it’s) an old school walkman! But be listening to some type of educational and or mindset development material!
Because remember the old saying, “you can’t increase your altitude, until you improve your attitude!” So get some all important mental development work in, while your dog(s) handles their business! 😎
4.) Increasing productivity secret # four: Be sure you use part of your extra six and a half newly found hours to check in with your spouse, significant other and or kids or other family members and or extremely valued associates etc!
Good and constant communication is key! There’s absolutely no sense striving to build a successful long lasting business, at the expense of far more important personal relationships, right?
5.) Increasing productivity secret # five: And finally…. entrepreneur, it really helps every thing, when you’re mentally sharp and laser focused on the task(s) at had! Don’t you agree? Meaning- invest at least part of those extra found hours, getting in some type of daily physical exercise and or movement of some kind!
You’ll be amazed (given a little time) what it will do for your overall disposition! The better you feel mentally and emotionally, the more creative you are and the more efficient too! And that all leads to more productivity and higher profits too! Any questions?

Thank you Nisha and welcome!
So glad you stopped by and shared your thoughts! I tend to agree with you
about spending less pure leisure time on the various social media platforms!
I too prefer to find new blogs such as yours to explore, and learn new things and expand both my knowledge
base and build new online relationships, such as potentially with you.
Thanks for your extremely kind words and for stopping by! Hopefully, it won’t be your last time!
I truly appreciate it Nisha! Thanks!
Hi Mark,
That’s an awesome post Mark and love your five secrets to increase productivity.
Like the commenter above, my time waster is Facebook and I will try to limit my time there to make use of the time in other areas in my business.
Also, as you mentioned, family is important and as a wife and mother of 3 teenage kids, I find the housework takes lots of time to accomplish but I guess this is time well invested although it seems too much sometimes.
Anyhow, all 5 secrets are spot on and I also like the one with the advice to listen to motivational and personal development material. I don’t have a dog either, but I drive my kids around a lot and this is a point I can make good use of. I love the saying that you quoted: “you can’t increase your altitude, until you improve your attitude!” That’s absolutely true.
Thanks Mark for sharing these 5 great secrets to increase productivity. They are all helpful for sure. Have a great week ahead.
Be Blessed,
Neamat

Awesome Neamat!
Wow, a husband and three growing kids! Super Mom strikes again!LOL! Where the heck do you find time
or the energy for anything else?LOL!
But as you mentioned about your car traveling time, that’s truly ideal time to pop in something either inspirational
and or educational in nature.Or go back and fourth between the two.
They say if the average commuter travels 30 minutes each way to and from work, that hour per day is enough time
to earn at least a two year degree of some kind, if you use it to study any given subject! Pretty amazing, isn’t it?
Yea, if you just strategically cut a measly 25% of of your FB/general social media browsing time and devout it to something more directly related to
your business, you’ll probably be amazed at your overall results! Given a little time of course.
And of course, since you’ve already got the spending quality time with family members part down pat. That investment is the
glue that pretty much holds everything else together.
When we look around and go into the “can do” mindset, you’ll really surprise yourself. Thanks for your extremely
kind words and for your continuous support! I truly appreciate both! BTW, how was your family style vacation?
Hopefully, you got a chance to unwind a little and get re-energized! Don’t be a stranger going forward!
Hi Mark,
You have shared some great advice. I have found my worst time waste is Facebook and I am working each day to limit my time there. I’ve done very well today and accomplished quite a bit.
I don’t have a dog but that’s a great idea to listen to motivation or inspirational audio while doing other things. I could possible listen while I’m driving to the store, etc. but not sure if that is safe.
Have a great evening.

No, basically, the main point being, that we maximize our time and
get the most out of a trip to the store or to and fro the Dr.s office etc.
You’d be surprised how much you can fit in! Thanks for
stopping by and for your continuous support!
I appreciate both!
