Five Simple Reasons Why You Might Seriously Consider Becoming An Entrepreneur!

Five Simple Reasons Why You Might Seriously Consider Becoming An Entrepreneur!

So “how” many times have you heard of the so called joys of being an entrepreneur? And yes, once (more like) if you get over the entrepreneurial start up hump, (which in itself is a tall order), for sure you’ve got some really cool benefits ahead, like real freedom of choice and time freedom in general etc.

However, becoming an entrepreneur is no small order. In fact, just having (and or) catching the entrepreneurial bug and or being wildly passionate about something, is nowhere near enough to try and make a go of it.

For one thing, initially it may not be glaringly obvious that, while you may be spending  a total of 40 plus hours per week, working full time in one place and another 15 – 20 hours part time somewhere else.

If you seriously expect to get your brand new cashed starved venture off the ground and (at least) semi viable.

You’d better quickly get used to the idea of 70 plus hours weeks on the slow side of things and 90 plus hours a week on the more normal side! And that will most certainly be your primary schedule for who knows how long initially! And remember, even with that type of dogged commitment, there’s still no guarantee you’ll be successful!

That said: now then, who’s up for starting their very own, and (in all likelihood) self funded business and or service?

Because (please) bare in mind, long before you ever enjoy the fruits of your labor to any semi enjoyable degree, like taking extended vacations and or not checking in during an entire three day weekend etc.

You’re gonna constantly take your emotional and financial lumps! And often! Still in all; the remainder of this post will explore, five extremely critical (although simple reasons), why you still might seriously consider becoming an entrepreneur!

So What Other Five Simple Reasons Do You Have For Seriously Considering Becoming An Entrepreneur?

Have you noticed that whenever the word “entrepreneur” is so loosely throw about, rarely if ever do you hear about the other potential pitfalls and or potential risks and the potentially long and lean hours involved, when trying to get your dream and vision off the ground! It’s as if, every day is pay day and a bed of roses! Yea right.

But here’s the thing, while there most certainly is a potential dark side to owning your own business. The following five reasons, more times that not, is what initially pushes (and or) drives the average (first time) small business owner and or service provider, to at least attempt at becoming an entrepreneur in the first place!

1.) Reason # one: Ladies & gentlemen (and fellow entrepreneurs), would you not agree, that there is nothing more disheartening, than to arrive early to work, only to discover some cast members of the “60 Minutes” news program,  are patiently waiting to interview (either) you and or the owners of the company! (This can’t be good!)

Or worst yet, federal agents have arrived just ahead of you and have padlocked the place and are now busily seizing all types of documents inside! The point here being.

When you work for someone else, you have absolutely no control over “how” the company is being managed and or mismanaged, do you? So if it turns out, that they’re doing something totally illegal! You’ll probably be one of the last to know!

2.) Reason # two: Try as they may, to consistently turn a viable profit and keep the business afloat and keep all of it’s extremely valuable employees/associates employed.

Full or part time. What if a major competitor enters your market and because they are so much better financed and have major financial backing from some other major corporate players etc.

They take away so much market share, that your company is either forced to choose between laying off a ton of people and or greatly reducing your hours! Or simply closing their doors altogether and going out of business!

Again (either way), you basically have no control and or say so in how things ultimately play out! Do you?

At Least You Don’t Get Blindsided When You’re The Owner!

3.) Reason # three: For whatever reasons, the on site mangers (and or) owners, might call everybody into the break room, to announce (that) effective immediately, they will be starting procedures to re-locate the company half way across the country and unfortunately, only upper management is being invited to come along! Bummer!

Hey, it happens far more often than you might think! But once again, is anybody going to call you in order to solicit your opinion? Nope, not a chance!

4.) Reason # four: Due to a prolonged nagging local and national (extreme) recession and increased competition from the fortune 500 level!

The company can’t see awarding any raises, once again this year. And or anytime soon in the foreseeable future!

Once again, what control and or say so do you have in the matter?

5.) Reason # five: And finally, since you don’t currently own any shares ( common stock) in your place of employment (and or), it’s simply a closed corporation. (Meaning;: they have stock but only certain individuals have any!) Even though the company stock has risen dramatically in the last seven and a half years.

And while (both) the owners and upper management have seen dramatic increases in their stock values. You not only haven’t seen any type of raise, but you’re not benefiting from the company’s good fortune either!

Even though you’re working harder than ever! Sound familiar?

Basically, without going any further, you readily get the basic gist here, correct? For these five and several other extremely critical reasons. You just might seriously wanna consider becoming an entrepreneur! Don’t you agree?

  1. hey Mark,

I can definitely feel where you’re coming from with this! Once upon a time in my life I was let go without any warning. So thus post here is so close to home.

This is why investing in some type of home business is the way to go. Yes there are going to be trials and tribulations, long hours, set backs but why focus on just this?

As an entrepreneur that automatically makes you a problem solver whether you like it or not . If you can solve people’s problem then you’ll be a hit. Once you are a hit then you created yourself a good option to not work for anyone bit yourself. This is some thing we all want and can definitely release all the stress that come with having a job!

Thanks for sharing Mark! This should open a lot of people’s eyes!

    • Those are some really great points Sherman!

And thanks so much for sharing them!LOL! I really love how you connected the dots
and explained, that by being able to effective deal with problems and issues,
      that automatically
makes us much sought after problem solvers!

That is such an awesome way to (both) describe and explain in essence what so called “attraction marketing”
is really supposed to be all about!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your real world thoughts! They are always welcome and
      greatly appreciated!

  2. Hi Mark,

You sure raise great points here and all of them are always on my mind. I’ve been an entrepreneur for so long, but I’ll never forget my younger years where I worked for a corporation. I felt like a wild horse that was captured in a tiny stall. Plus, I knew at a very young age I needed something on the side to express my creativity. I started flipping antiques on weekends. That was my first step into Entrepreneurship. I made more money than my paycheck and had the freedom to do so.

Being an entrepreneur and self employed is not so easy for some people. The people who think there is security working for a company and in this financial climate, it’s all downhill. People are loosing their jobs, their pensions, and cannot find other jobs out there.

We, as the spirited entrepreneurs need to get the word out to others so that they can obtain financial freedom. And also the truth about it….no quick fix, but devotion.

    Thanks for another great post!

      little stall!
