Here’s a little known factoid that you won’t hear or see mentioned too much. And it has to do with the strange (yet) relevant comparison between (of all things) your typical NFL football player and your (all too) typical online newbie affiliate marketer. Huh?
That’s correct! But first, did you know (or realize) that sadly, just two years after they retire, a stunning 78% of all NFL payers are (both) bankrupt (or) on the verge of bankruptcy and divorced! or have a seriously damaged marriage, that’s surely headed for divorce court!
Some pretty sobering facts, don’t you agree? And of course (you’re currently) scratching your head, wondering (what?) if anything, these dreadful facts, have to do with with 98-999% of all beginning online newbie affiliate marketers? You’ll see in just a second, so hold on.
In the mean time, here’s another sobering fact, that you don’t see ready shared with the starry eyed public, regarding the inner workings of the NFL!
First of all, the players (on average), only work sixteen weeks out of the year, (four months), unless they make the coveted playoffs, then they get bonus money!
But did you also know (realize) that every game the players play outside their home state (aka) away games, they have to pay taxes, based on that particular states applicable tax rates and their individual tax rates etc!
Here’ the real point to that little stroll down NFL factoid lane! First of all, only the elite Superstars (aka) the top one percent, typically get the incredibly lucrative endorsements! Not the average practice squad or special teams players!
And here’s the other rarely acknowledged biggie! NFL players contracts (unlike) MLB or the NBA, there not guaranteed! If they receive any hefty signing bonuses, that income is immediately taxable and spendable! But again, only the elite players get hefty signing bonuses!
Which ultimately means, they’re really glorified (although) well paid employees of a team/franchise owner!
The Major Marketing Mistake 98% Of All Newbie Affiliate Marketers Make And! (And How It Closely Resembles The Life Of The Typical NFL Player!)
You see (cadets), how the typical online newbie affiliate marketers situation, closely resembles (from a conceptual) stand point only, the average NFL players situation is this. The typical enthusiastic (initially anyway) totally inexperienced newbie affiliate marketer, normally starts out by promoting/marketing (trying in vain) to sell someone else s products or services!
Of course, unlike the typical salaried NFL player, they probably don’t make six figures (quite) yet! Anyway…that product or service that the typical newbie affiliate marketer tries to sell, they typically don’t own it!
Which means, just like the typical NFL player, they have no say in the who, what, how or where! They get a pay check and if they’re really an elite player, they may line up a few (hopefully) lucrative endorsement deals, before their careers are over!
But notice something here: (so called) super affiliates, the men & women at the top of the affiliate marketing food chain. Ninety nine percent of them eventually own their own information products or services!
Yep! They ultimately control their own destines, by owning, not just simply promoting other peoples products and services! So in case you’re still wondering why, or how the average newbie affiliate marketer’s situation greatly resembles the typical (non elite Superstar) NFL players situation?
The connection is simply this, both of them are (pretty much) controlled by their circumstances, not in control of them! The legal owner of the info products and services (ultimately decides), how much each affiliate gets paid commission wise! And how you can or can’t promote their products and services etc!
And the typical NFL player, gets told what time they need to be at practice, who can play in which games and if they’ll have a job, going into the future!
That my friend, is a major marketing mistake, you as savvy information marketer, need to fix asap! Otherwise, you’re tossing away a fortune in lost opportunities! Don’t you agree?
