So ladies & gentlemen have you had the pleasure (lately) of running just a wee bit short on cash, in either your personal (and or) business life and had to do a little last second fancy stepping, in order to make ends and or payroll meet?
You what I’m referring to, right? Yea, we’ve all been there at least a time or two, correct? Well, the creativity aspect of your particular marketing plan, should become a necessity, because by doing so, it will take your future thoughts in a whole new direction.
And it’s this new way of thinking (if you will), that can and will allow you to make some potential major marketing breakthroughs!
In fact, it’s not so much a (so called) new way of thinking, it’s just your overall horizons of marketing possibilities get greatly expanded!
And suddenly you go from habitually thinking “why” to “why not!” And when that sort of aggressive mindset starts to occupy the most space in your thought tanks!
You my friend are in for some major marketing breakthroughs! So have a small look, at what a little (reality based) marketing creativity can potentially do to and for your bottom line!
So Why Is It Extremely Criticall That You Add The Word Creativity To Your Long Term Marketing Plan?
To start things off, did you hear that (the Chrysler Corporation) once financed an entire Spanish Television stations initial start up by trading 192 cars. that were basically valued at $1,920,000 dollars! How cool and totally creative was that?
The Chrysler dealership got over $1.5 million dollars in free ad TV space minutes, that they could use almost immediately and the Spanish TV network, also got instant access to some slightly used cars they could immediately lease or sell to their employees at just over 30% above the dealers actual cost!
And the Chrysler dealership got close to full retail value use on some slightly older cars, that were merely taking up extremely valuable lot space! Not to mention the fact they kept over a million dollars in cash in their bank accounts and had it for other more pressing needs!
Or what about the extremely creative husband & wife (CPA/Lawyer team. He being the CPA & his wife an attorney with a rather small, but substantial law practice.
They aggressively negotiated (bartered), over $15,000 dollars worth of slightly used furniture and furnishings, (for both) their luxury home and her law firm, with a local furniture business!
In essence, (both) the husband & wife agreed to represent the furniture business, for both of their hourly fees combined, until the furniture concern had maxed out the (fair market value) $15,000 dollar swap!(Entrepreneur, how cool was that? 😎 )
Again, the furniture concern got close to full market value on some slightly used furniture and furnishings, that they otherwise would of had to sell at a steep discount, in order to entice the general public!
And the extremely savvy husband & wife team, got close to $15,000 dollars worth of slightly used, (but still quite attractive looking) furniture and furnishings, to both decorate their beautiful home and his wife’s law firm and they didn’t use any actual out of pocket cash in order to do so!
(FYI:Of course these type of sophisticated “Barter” transactions require someone with expert knowledge of the current applicable taxes laws!In order to avoid getting caught in the cross hairs of the IRS! 😎 )
Can You Really Argue With This Type Of Results Driven Creativity?
Now just in case you’re thinking, “okay Mark, so maybe some of those fancy seven or eight figure earners do that sort thing on the regular! But what about the common everyday entrepreneurs?”
Fair enough!Hopefully, this next (real life example) lands a little closer to home. Jeff Weissman, another one of my Coaches,(you can feel free to Google him), that primarily teaches struggling home based business owners, how to effectively and strategically use the Internet to grow their businesses.
And he also teaches (basic to advanced) Internet marketing strategies, to the rest of his student/customer base such as myself, how to effectively use Internet marketing to sell and or promote our business, products and or services etc.
When Jeff’s daughters needed braces a while back, Jeff and his wife looked around for a reputable local dentist. And upon finding one with a growing practice, (Jeff shared with us in a private webinar,- meaning his paid customer base ( students), how they basically wanted a grand total of $5,000 dollars for both girls to be properly fitted!
(That’s the beauty of no longer having company Insurance!Because he’s basically a lawyer that doesn’t practice law anymore! 😎 )
However, once they discovered Jeff actually worked from home, using the Internet and was currently earning a serious full time five figure a month income! 😎
(And once they were doubly assured that his seemingly flourishing business wasn’t pornography based! 😎 )
They asked if he wouldn’t mind having a look at their WordPress website/blog and (please) offer them some much needed pointers of their, to this point, less than spectacular results from their Pay Per Click (PPC) ad campaigns!
The short of it is, Jeff and the dental office “bartered” $5,000 dollars worth of goods and services!
Jeff helped quickly revamp their blog and got then to the first page on Google in their specific local area, for some much searched local terms!
He also completely re-did their (almost) amateurish PPC ad campaigns! And they almost started seeing instant bankable results!(And he was also able to help them, finally get a real opt in email marketing plan in place as well!)
Plus, Jeff retained them as monthly consulting clients! For a nice (as he put it) monthly consulting fee! 😎 And he and his wife kept the $5,000 dollars cash in their bank account!
So at his current rates of $500 dollars per hour for his corporate consulting arm of his business. In about ten hours of consulting time, give or take.He was able to help these dentist see noticeable- bankable – results to their bottom line, by effectively revamping their use of the Internet!
And they made sure his girls got their braces done without having to reach into his pocket, in order for it to happen! So there’s definitely a lot to be said about this marketing creativity thing and “how” it just might add nicely to your bottom line!Don’t you agree? See you in part two, because there we’re really gonna go deep!

These are awesome examples of bartering services, Mark. Very effective in keeping out of pocket expenses down for start ups or any entrepeneur. Thanks for this informative post. BTW, I didn’t realize an internet coach charges $500/hr. That’s close to an attorney’s rate! 🙂

Thanks for your awesome comments Lisa!
I greatly appreciate it! I think I feel my
head starting to swell just a bit as a direct result!LOL!
And yes, once you can amply demonstrate your competence and expertise in
any chosen specialty/niche etc.
Then you can start to systematically raise your rates considerably!Case in point,
some (so called) social media marketing experts/gurus, that specialize in X!
Take your pick, twitter, FB, Pinterst or Instagram etc.
They may initially charge $500 dollars per hour (or more) with a minimum of
three hours!
Or some WordPress gurus charge $750 dollars per hour or more and only work
with professionals, such as CPA’s, Dr.’s & lawyers etc!
Or some PPC experts, routinely charge their corporate clients $750 to $1,000 dollars
per hour.
It just depends on how they’ve ultimately positioned themselves and who their primary
target market is!
BTW, I think you have identified a fabulous evergreen niche! And you could easily segment
your target audience into entry level, intermediate and advanced levels of information
products and services!
Either the ones you create yourself or the ones you market as affiliate products and services!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Lisa! I greatly appreciate it!
