Word of mouth   (And Or Outrageously Expensive Traditional Advertising Campaigns!)

Fellow profit seeking entrepreneur. Please take a closer look at the featured image with this particular blog post. Can imagine the vast majority of local women.

Who say went shopping fora high baby crib. Designer women’s clothing, shoes and other accessories. Or women’s jewelry. Receiving a nice gift like that. And being disappointed because of it?

Probably not, right? And more than likely. Whichever extremely marketing savvy marketer. Arranged to provide some local female customers with such a nice gift. You can rest assured they’ll create a tsunami of positive word of mouth and buzz too, correct?

So For The Record You’re Not Against Viral Marketing Campaigns Are You?

Now contrast it to the alternative. Which is constantly wasting a fortune on outrageously expensive, hit and miss traditional advertising campaigns. Ladies & gentlemen please consider the following all too occurrence.

Every day somewhere in your/our local markets. Some profit seeking business owner(s) and or service providers. Spend their extremely hard earned money.

On not exactly cheap local primetime radio or TV ads, right? If you’re listening to one of your favorite podcasts. Or reading some of your favorite blogs. Or taking a nice power walk outside. Or in the gym enjoying a good workout etc. You and I didn’t see nor hear those campaigns, correct?

Yet the money still came out of their account, did it not? So think about potentially how much they spend or prime time radio & TV  ad s. Which are never even seen by their prospects. And you best believe those cumulative costs quickly add up.

 

 You Can Strategically Market Your Business Your Business Or Service! (Or Advertise It!)

Say strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. Instead of the women’s cosmetic distributorship company. Spending $60K – $125K on some outrageously expensive full or half page ad. In a popular women’s magazine.

Or spending the same money on expensive local prime time radio or TV ads etc. What they inexpensively tested the following. Let’s the actual hard cost of the featured image is $27 dollars or X. Divide $27 into $40,000 dollars.

You should get 1,481.88 or 1,481 as a practical matter, correct. So the distributor could make some Joint Venture (JV) arrangements with other local. Non directly competing vendors.

And initially test using it as a “upsell/add on sell” revenue generating strategy for these non directly competing vendors. Say a popular, upscale hair or nail salon. For every customer who spends at least X. (Some higher than average amount.) Those ladies receive an extremely time sensitive gift certificate to the women’s cosmetic distributorships store.

If they come alone and don’t join the cosmetic distributorships opt in email list.  They only save 10 or X% off the current retail price.

Leverage Your Naturally Recurring Marketing Opportunities!

However, simply for dragging a friend with them whose at least 18. They automatically get the gift basket at vendors actual hard cost of $27 dollars or X. Or if they prefer. They can drag at least two friends with them, who are least 18. They get their gift basket free!

And simply for joining the vendors opt in email list. They automatically get entered into a free drawing. Where the 1stgrand prize winner. Automatically wins two gift baskets worth X.

And as long as their guests joins their list before they leave the store that day. They’re entered into the free drawing too. But they can purchase the gift basket at the vendors actual hard cost of $27 dollars or X.

But in any event. The vendor only has 1,481 gift baskets to give away at cost remember? 😀 (40,000 / $27 dollars = 1,481 gift baskets.)

Imagine the positive word of mouth and mouse tsunami. Those 1,482 can make on or offline. And they each know at least 25 other locals, right? (1,481 x 25 = 37.025. And typically 30% of them are primed to become 1st time customers. With in the next 60 or X number of days or less.

So what’s it gonna be fellow profit seeking entrepreneur? Some bank account filling word of mouth and mouse buzz. Or keep spending a ton of money on outrageously expensive, dismally performing ad campaigns!
