So Why Do Some Call It Economic Recession While Others Call It Opportunity!Part Three

So Why Do Some Call It Economic Recession While Others Call It Opportunity! Part Three

As you previously discovered in part two about how (in some cases) you can and should look for many think outside the box ways of creatively leveraging the economic recession.

Remember in part two the savvy local appliance dealer printed some inexpensive one sided flyers and left them in the mail boxes in an upscale neighborhood.

Basically the strategy here is to find one or two (anchor) customers that are well off! Because high income earning men & women have a tendency (more times ) than not,  to socialize with or work with, and are related to other successful high income earners. Don’t you agree?

And the fact that they own or rent an upscale home, (in an area) surrounded by other upscale home owners and renters, well let’s just say that’s one of the ideal locations for strategically leveraging the economic recession.

And the flyers will drive the most interested potential customers to the appliance dealers lead capture page on their WordPress blog. So they can be added to their mobile marketing list.

Sometimes The So Called Economic Recession Can Actually Be Hidden Long Term Profit Opportunity!

Entrepreneur, this is one of the few times you’ll read or hear Mr.Marketing being okay with a dismal one or two percent initial return on investment from plastering those one sided flyers all over the upscale neighborhood.

Because here’s the bottom line to that particular (no marketing skill) tactic.

The appliance dealer is looking for one or more initial customers that are okay with buying some slightly used repossessed, high end home entertainment systems and or really nice flat screen TV’s etc.

So  let’s say one of their really nice state of the art home entertainment systems that originally sold for $10,000 dollars or more, recently got repossessed for non payment!

And now, even though the system is slightly used. And just over nine months old (but still) in excellent condition! Since by law, the appliance dealer can’t sell used (and therefore) repossessed items for full retail prices any longer! This has the makings of a long term profit generating opportunity.

You tie that into a prolonged local economic recession and you’ve got the potential makings of a long term profit generating goldmine. Here’s how. The customers that agree to pay the appliance dealers actual cost or just 10-15% above max!

In exchange for being able to buy that state of the art (although) slightly used, repossessed $10,000 dollar home entertainment system for just $4,700 dollars! Free deliver & set up included in the price!

Strategically Turn Previously Dead Repossessed Inventory Into A Whole New Profit Center!

They get the deal of a lifetime, do they not? The savvy appliance dealer also gets a video testimonial, a thumbs up (like) on their Facebook fan page and a positive review on one of the local review sites like Yelp.

But here’s the real power of this type of new VIP customer generating strategy. That high income earners, with their really nice homes, will most definitely be having friends, family or business partners and bosses, or employees over to their house periodically, right?

And as those people are watching a really entertaining, action movie, thriller and or listening to music or whatever. They’ll constantly be  exposed to that state of the art home entertainment system, correct? And once they start asking questions about it, that’s when the bragging about how much they saved will start!Right? 😎

And of course, the moment the entire system is fully setup, that’s when they’ll start tweeting about it and posting both pictures and videos to Facebook etc.

But here’s the other thing. Remember, maybe one to five percent of those hundreds of flyer recipients who did opt in to the appliance dealers list.

Now they’ve asked them via a phone call type of survey, or via a special page on their blog. Specifically what type of  repossessed items they’d like to receive email and or mobile marketing/snail mail notice of in the future.Bingo!

The Economic Recession The High Income Earners And You!

And whenever any type of items meet their specs, the savvy appliance dealer sends that individual high income earner, (in an) upscale neighborhood a special broadcast email with a link where they can pay for it right then and there!

And they’ll be given the 72 hour “first right of refusal” option! (No such statue actually exists!) But if after the first 72 hours they haven’t purchased, or called to make future arrangements to do so etc!

The appliance dealer will automatically send the exact same opt in email offer to the remainder of their VIP ultimate insiders list! Are you starting to better appreciate ‘how’ and why some call it economic recession. While others call it opportunity.

  1. Hi Mark,

Economic recession to me is a goldmine. I’ve made more money in the first one a long time ago doing an off-line business.

And now we are here again. As long as we have the understanding of economics, and give people value at a lower price, and good customer service….they are happy.

There are so many ways of marketing we can do these days. But to me, the most important thing, is keeping up with the latest marketing trends that are working.

It’s kind of fun being on that learning curve that changes all the time. It just fills me up with adrenaline. But the key is to learn, apply and earn!

Especially online marketing with its ongoing changes of rules and regulations. It’s an exciting adventure. And I know you Mr. Marketer are right there on it.

    Cheers!

    • I couldn’t agree more!

While nobody is pleased to profit from someone else’s misfortune! Still in, just like you point out,
there is simply no denying the tremendous long term money making potential, that’s available during
      a so called recession!

And sense (as you mentioned) there is no one set way to profit from it! That possibility in and of itself,
makes any temporary and or a longed recession, incredibly exciting!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts o the subject! And for your continuous
      support!

Both are greatly appreciated! Enjoy the rest of your week!
