Why Successfully Scaling A Small Business Or Service Is More About Strategy Than Checkbook!

In a previous blog post about successfully scaling a small business or service. As you recall the exact same featured image was also the featured image for that particular blog post as well, remember?

The primary reason ‘why” Marie Forleo’s image is being featured again. Is in order to go even deeper into some of the non traditional marketing strategies and tactics mentioned in the previous blog post.

And hopefully as a direct result of doing so. Either you and or your major competitors will be creatively inspired to at least strategically A/B split test some previously untapped marketing possibilities. Because by consistently doing so. You may just “discover” some non traditional, low hanging fruit marketing or promotional opportunities.

Who Says You Have To Market Your Business Or Service In A Traditional Way?

Getting back to the example using Marie Forleo’s current and future influence. In order to successfully market your (in this particular case only!) Your non franchised retail jewelry store. So imagine Marie is one many extremely high profile guest speakers.

On in the cases when she’s the main keynote speaker. And she does a pre-address to the crowd. Before her actual main presentation. And this pre-presentation may or may not actually be recorded.

But in the case of an event the size of Russell Brunson’s “FHL” (Funnel Hacking Live.) Which typically has anywhere from 8,500- 10,000 live attendees or more.

Or maybe she’s one of the keynote speakers at grant Cardone’s live events. Which typically draws anywhere from 25,000 – 35,000 aspiring entrepreneurs. So let’s say Marie is speaking live at one of grants major live events.

When Opportunity Knocks Entrepreneur Don’t Be Shy!

But she addresses the crowd in a pre- (sort of pump the crowd) type of presentation. Which lasts all of 12 minutes give or take. And they also feature her on a freaking huge jumbo screen located directly behind her.

This way the ladies can clearly see her sparkling, extremely eye catching bling. For the pre address she’s showcasing some extremely eye catching diamond studded earrings. Which usually retail for at least $1,000 dollars a pair.

(So you can only imagine “what” those look like, correct?) Plus, she’s rocking a great looking diamond studded necklace. Which usually retails for at least $5,000 dollars. (Truth told both pieces of extremely eye catching bling have an actual hard cost of half perhaps even less.)

But Marie flashes a special lead capture page address. Which in reality is only for that specific “FHL” live audience and event. (In reality the extremely marketing savvy retail jewelry store owner has a special lead capture page built for this specific event.)

And Marie encourages both the ladies & men in the audience. Who are extremely interested in wearing some really nice looking bling.

To enter the jewelers free drawing. For a chance to win either:

1.) A beautiful diamond studded necklace for the ladies. Which usually retails for at least $5,000 dollars or X.

 2.) An extremely eye catching men’s Rolex watch. Which typically retails for at least $5,000 dollars or X. (Think half for both in terms of actual hard cost.)

What A Strategic Way To Systematically Build A Highly Responsive Opt In Email List! (for Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)

Marie or whomever the affiliate is for the jeweler. Marie points to the bottom of the jumbo screen. And tells the audience to be sure to enter in her affiliate number/ID code. This way they get an extremely time sensitive discount rate off any purchases up to $2,000 or X amount of dollars. (And she of course earns affiliate commission credit as well.

(The general public outside this particular event doesn’t get these extremely time sensitive savings either.) And one female and male grand prize winner will be contacted via email the last day of the event.

Which is “why” they’re encouraged to enter the free drawing. Via the retail jewelers opt in email list offers.  And offline. Every time Marie does any offline book signing events.

When she autographs her book. She also places a sealed envelop inside the book. And the outside has written on it. In big, bold read letters. Music legend “Stevie Wonder” couldn’t miss. “You Definitely Deserve This!”

So you know it definitely won’t take long for those envelops to be ripped open, correct? Inside (initially) they’ll find at least two extremely time sensitive offers. 

1.) First: An extremely time sensitive “bounce back” offer from the book store where the book signing is being held.

2.) Second: An extremely time sensitive, market tested offer from the retail jeweler. Which of course both encourages the recipient to join the jewelers opt in email list.

For their chance to win either a $2,500 dollar diamond studded necklace for the ladies. Or a $2,500 dollar men’s Rolex for the guys. (They must be at least 18 in order to win.)

The retail jeweler or whomever is utilizing this particular strategy is systematically building a highly responsive opt in email list for literally pennies on the dollar. And Marie Forleo or any extremely influential personality is steadily earning semi passive income, right?

And that’s “why” successfully scaling a small business or service is definitely more about strategy than checkbook. Don’t you agree?
