Why Developing Some Bankable Skills Are The Gateway To Creating Opportunity!

Have you also noticed the close correlation between developing practically any type of bankable skills and gradually earning more income? As well as it being the gateway to strategically creating opportunity. Sadly far too many aspiring entrepreneurs sort of get pigeon holed into having to compete incredibly hard along the traditional ways.

And not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with being conventional. but far too many temporary obstacles or challenges could or probably will present themselves.

And sadly far too many aspiring entrepreneurs are pretty darn good when everything is cut and dry and straight forward. It’s the occasional curves which often temporarily or permanently knock them off course, don’t you agree?

Entrepreneur Growing Your Business Or Service Definitely Involves Developing Some Bankable Skills!

case in point. Notice the lady pianist featured in this particular blog post. Let’s say she’s developed a reputation -over time of course- of being an excellent pianist. And by extension a darn good keyboardist as well. She could potentially earn at least a side income from doing some type of composing, correct? Or maybe she can be a high end session musician.

Who earns at least a part time income playing piano or keyboard for local aspiring artists, on their recording sessions. Or if push comes to shove she could possibly join an aspiring local ban.

because if she lives in or near any fairly large big cities. There’s more than a very good chance, there’s few aspiring local bands looking for an accomplished pianist or keyboard player, right?

And of course she can always offer private piano or keyboard lessons. To any one who interested in learning the craft. And she can offer beginning, intermediate and advanced lessons.

Surely all of these viable options should definitely help her not only keep some sort of roof over her head, semi healthy food on the table and lights on, agreed?

Being A Successful Entrepreneur Definitely Means Being More Than Just Having Or Developing Some Bankable Skills!

Take this offer example. As some of you recall the recent two part series written about an aspiring hand artist. Whom I originally came across via Linkedin. This young woman posted a totally awesome portrait of another young woman’s portrait, she apparently drew using primarily pencil(s.)

And she didn’t make it totally clear in the post if she currently had a state of the art, self hosted WordPress website of any kind. Nor did she indicate in this particular post if she was currently active on other social media platforms or not.

But strictly for the sake of a hypothetical marketing illustration. Let’s say for now this is strictly her side hustle. Meaning she hasn’t signed a one year commercial lease.

And is contractually locked in to pay the lease of X per month. Regardless of whether she’s forced to temporarily shut her business down and have to go back to working out of her home, apartment or condo etc.

Here’s another extremely low cost, low hanging fruit marketing strategy she could at least inexpensively test. If she doesn’t currently have any kids. She could approach one of her besties, relatives or co-workers with kids. Who currently have their kids in a reputable daycare facility.

And offer to do a free or at hard cost portrait of the owner(s) and any one of their kids. Or any other one person they designate.

Entrepreneur You Just Get The Ball Rolling And And The Positive Word Of Mouth And Mouse Will Pretty Much Do The Rest!

But here’s the all important marketing twist. The artist will also do a portrait of their niece or nephew. And as long as they hang the portrait of their niece or nephew right next to the daycare owners portrait.

They’ll gladly do the owner(s) and their choice for free. Say what? This way as the current and future customers of this fairly upscale daycare center come and go or attend various events at the facility.

Her awesome portraits will constantly be on display for all to see, correct? Including current and future daycare workers. Some of who may want to have a portrait done o themselves, their spouse, their kid(s), their live insignificant other one or both of their parents.

Or maybe they want a portrait of one or more of their animals. Or their kid(s) and their animals together. In which case. Strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only.

Let’s say she currently charges $75 dollars or X per portrait. She could offer two for just $125 dollars. Which translates to a savings of $25 dollars or 17%.

and don’t forget the daycare facility also has various local vendors, suppliers and a nightly cleaning crew who will be constantly exposed to her work as well. Which is why the daycare owner(s) also agree to let her leave her leaflets or flyers on a table right near where the portraits are currently hanging.

Any And All Positive Viral Marketing Exposure Ultimately Leads To The Exact Same Place!

And she too has the opportunity to at least dip her toe into creating some multiple types of income streams. Say what? Because there maybe some locals who would gladly take her class. Where she teaches them “how to” make portraits primarily using a canvas and pencil. Clearly they’ll be years away. If they ever develop skills anywhere near comparable to hers.

But some may take her class just for the fun of taking it with a bestie or co-worker etc. And of course she could also offer one on one coaching, consulting and mentoring to other aspiring hand artist outside her immediate area. Who even though they may be incredibly talented and dedicated.

Still just haven’t quite developed the necessary marketing skills they need in order to make a go of things. That said entrepreneur, hopefully it’s now become far more obvious “why” developing some bankable skills is definitely the gateway to creating opportunity. Don’t you agree?
