You do realize and hopefully appreciate the subtle but real differences between trying to build a corporate type of brand and building your brand in the eyes of your ideal prospect/customer. Right? Good.
Because the strategically building your brand being referred to in this particular instance. Has very little or nothing to do with fancy and potentially expensive logos or catchy slogans etc.
Sadly far too many aspiring entrepreneurs place far too much emphasis on logo colors and creating what they hope are memorable slogans etc. This kind of outrageously expensive corporate type of advertising, marketing or promoting doesn’t consistently move the needle nearly as much.
As what you or your major competitors are about to be exposed to. Once you start strategically and consistently implementing this proven cookie cutter marketing/promotional brand building approach. Watch your bottom line start to gradually rise… And rise….
You’ve Gotta Be Wondering How Do You Make Money Branding Yourself!
So imagine this. Watch how potentially versatile this particular, non traditional marketing approach and long term strategy is. Or can quickly become. So let’s say you’re the senior marketing director for an extremely popular women-s cosmetic distributorship.
And you have 64 oz. bottles of women-s perfume. Which range in prices from the lower end of $189 per bottle. And your extremely popular mid level bottle typically goes for anywhere from $450- $650 per bottle. Say what?
And one of your top of the line 64 oz. fragrances typically retails for at least $1,300 – $1,700 dollars per bottle. (Keep in mine.) These are your typical retail prices.
Not your actual hard costs. Nevertheless, even your lower 64 oz. bottles are incredibly popular, especially with your first time customers. This being the case. Here’s how you or your major competitors start to strategically get the word out in a major way.
First you’re gonna ethically bribe a few of the local, independently owned, non franchised floral shops. Huh? Stop and think about it for just a second. Who are most of the flowers purchased for? The women. Correct? (Kindly move to the head of the marketing class.)
Now then. First you ethically bribe the owner(s) of the floral shop. By letting them purchase any mid level 64 oz. bottle fragrance of their choice. At your actual hard cost. Say what? Provided they do at least two things.
A.) They join and remain an active opt in email/text message subscriber of yours. (This way they constantly get your periodic VIP subscriber alert messages and announcement. At least 3-5 days before the general public does.)
B.) They drag a friend with them to your store, whose at least 18. Before your extremely time sensitive gift certificate expires. Otherwise. If they come to your store alone. They only save 10% off the normal retail price of one of your most popular mid level perfumes.

Case in point. You also suggest the florists start periodically sponsoring free interior designing workshops. And allow up and coming. Or if you can entice them. Let experienced, well established, local interior designers.
Teach classes on how to decorate your home/apartment. And here’s at least three of the free prizes, which will be up for grabs. But only for those women who ae smart enough to drag a friend with them. Whose at least 18.
And only those women who are on your opt in email/text message list. Are eligible to receive all three, or X number of prizes valued at X. Otherwise. Let’s say a local woman drags a friend with them to the florist-s free workshop. But for whatever reasons.
She simply doesn’t want to join your opt in email or text message list. And at the end of the interior design class. Her number is drawn as the 1st grand prize winner.
Then she’s only eligible to receive one of the grand prizes. Huh? (Hopefully you’re starting to see and appreciate “how to” strategically use ethical bribes in combination with power list building 101 to consistently earn more money.)

Here’s a look at the potential three 1st grand prizes valued at X. (And over time you can definitely add more. If it makes economic sense to do so.)
1.) First: They’ll win a dozed roses valued at X. You know this one grand prize alone will quickly become a topic of conversation once they return to. Either their job or place of business. Correct? Absolutely. Plus you know some of them will quickly be spreading the word. Both on and off of social media. Correct? For sure.
2.) Second: They also win a free 32 oz. bottle of their choice. Of one of your lower end perfumes. This one normally retails for $139 dollars per bottle. (Truth told your actual hard costs are only about $60 dollars.
3.) Third: They also win an extremely time sensitive gift certificate from the florist. Where they can save 25 or X% off their next purchase. With no minimum purchase requirements.
Coming up very shortly in part two. You’re about to discover how to put this marketing approach on marketing steroids. Okay? But for now. Are you starting to better appreciate “how” strategically building your brand is definitely not about how much money you have in your current or future marketing or promotional budget? Say yes.
