(Is Either Trying To Sell You Something Or They Just Don’t Have A Clue!)
Clearly when it comes to successful on or offline marketing strategies or tactics. Some strategies get all the praise and attention, correct? While others not so much. Entrepreneur make no mistake about it. While strategic email marketing may not be as sexy as social media marketing. Without a doubt it’s definitely still the behind the scenes workhorse.
Which does most of the much needed heavy lifting. Just ask any profit seeking online marketer whose had at least one social media account shut down for any number of reasons. Or those who’ve had a Facebook group shutdown.
Or one who just lost their 275,000 or X number of Instagram or Twitter followers etc.
How they would have managed “if'” they didn’t have their own steadily growing opt in email list to periodically stay in contact with.
And as their opt in subscriber base continually grows. They not only have both the ability and opportunity to systematically promote other high end reputable products or services.
As either a paid affiliate and or as a JV (Joint Venture) revenue sharing partner. Two potentially profitable benefits you don’t often associate with using potentially expensive PPC (Pay per Click) ad campaigns, agreed?
Thank Goodness You Definitely Don’t Need Some Over The Top Strategies For Email Marketing Success!
Case in point. In your local city or town. Have you ever attended either a local high school or local jr. college basketball game. And maybe a popular radio host invites you to come to the game and witness at halftime.
At least five to seven local people attempt a one time three quarters length shot. For a 1st grand prize of either $5,000 dollars in cash.
And maybe a $5,000 dollar shopping spree at a local non franchised retail appliance dealer. Sadly there are no secondary prizes offered by the retailer. (But “who” knows they can be persuaded to slightly tweak their overall, long term marketing strategy.
So they or their major local competitors can reap some mega long turn windfall front and back gross profits. How you so skeptically ask? By the strategic use of proactive email marketing. (Say what?)
I you haven’t tried (lately!) to shoot a three quarters length shot on a regulation basketball court. (Maybe you should. This way you’ll have a much better appreciation of the odds of a rank local amateur making such an extremely difficult shot on one try.)
However, those local entrants who sign up for a chance to win, simply by joining the retailers VIP opt in email list. (Guess what?) They only have to make three free throws in a row. But they have to do it from the top of the key. Granted, there are a whole lot closer.
But the degree of difficulty of making three in a row. For a rank amateur local. This is still definitely going to be a challenge.
Extremely Savvy Marketers Always Look For ways Of Sweetening The Marketing Pot! (For Literally Pennies On The Dollar!)
Seriously consider at least testing the following extremely low cost, (yet potentially profitable!) marketing strategy. Clearly there will be some locals sitting in the audience who for whatever reasons didn’t join the retailers opt in email list, correct?
So every one in the audiences gets to put their name on an index card and drop it in a box. And select one of the five contestants for the shot. Whom they think will either make the three quarters length shot. Or make the three shots from the top of the key.
And if their selection is correct. They win a $25 or X dollar gift certificate to a local supermarket. However, simply by joining the retailers opt in email list. Now if their name gets pulled from the box and their selected contestant was successful.
Now they not only win $200 dollars worth of gift certificates from a local supermarket. But they also win an extremely time sensitive gift certificate from the retail appliance dealer worth $500 or X amount of dollars.
This simple marketing twist will definitely cause X amount of the local fans who attend these junior college basketball games to join the retailers list, agreed?
So throughout the entire season. Based on “how” many homes games there are. This extremely marketing savvy retailers will be strategically and rather inexpensively building their opt in email list for virtually pennies on the dollar.
Entrepreneur Strategic Power List Building 101 Is Definitely Only The Beginning!
Keep in mind as the retailers systematically build their opt in email list throughout the entire men’s & women’s junior college basketball season. They will be periodically ethically bribing all of these subscribers to drag a friend with them to their store.
And the ones who will get to:
1.) Automatically be able to save X% off their total purchases.
2.) Spend at least X and be able to reach into the retailers special grab of goodies from both their store and other local cross promotional partners businesses or services.
3.) As long as their guests also join the retailers list before they leave the store that day. They too will either qualify for some extremely time sensitive savings of X up to X amount of dollars.
Plus if they spend at least X. They also get to reach into the retailers grab bag of special goodies. Either way you know their positive word of mouth and mouse activities will literally be on steroids, right?
Going forward, hopefully you don’t need to be convinced any further. Why strategic email marketing is still many things. But it’s definitely not dead. Don’t you agree?
