As you previously discovered in part one of this ongoing series about how and why, you’ve definitely got to stop ignoring at least three “battlefield tested” email marketing techniques, that far too many aspiring online newbie marketers ignore!
Strategic email marketing (irregardless) the size of your current list and or lists,it is simply a fabulous way to consistently deliver various forms of value to your VIP subscribers.
It can definitely help you persuade long or (even) short term subscribers, (over time of course) to go from extremely skeptical and hesitant fence sitters, that are totally unsure, to raving evangelical super advocates for your business, products and or services!
All because you simply continue to provide value to them, by helping to improve their lives, via the various forms of “value added”content you share via your pre written and unscheduled (broadcast) email messages.
And when you stop to put a pencil to it, for one extremely affordable monthly price, (just depending on the actual size of your current list of course), you can literally reach your opt in subscribers and consistently share value with them, for literally pennies on the dollar.
And some of them rest assured, will most definitely forward your extremely helpful, problem solving “how to” content to their friends, family and respected associates and inner circles!Look at the potential marketing leverage that’s available to you (and or your major competitors!)!Simply by becoming a concerned and consistent provider of value!
Now entrepreneur, I gotta ask you, “how” cool is that?
Who Else Wants To Discover At Least Five More Extremely Critical Email Marketing Techniques That Far Too Many Aspiring Newbie Marketers Ignore?
Keep in mine ladies & gentlemen, it’s equally important to “know” what not to do, as it is important to “know” what not to do and why!And any cash starved, struggling small business owner and or service provider, that utilizes a paid email service provider of some kind, they can structure (write) a message (they are affectionately) referring to as an email message and hit the send button too!
But that doesn’t mean, they’re using effective email marketing techniques! So the following five proven suggestions are to help you avoid “what” not to do, so you don’t inadvertently repel your potential audience like far too many aspiring newbie marketers do!
And end up driving a huge percentage of their (hard fought opt in subscribers) off their list and onto that of a major competitor! It happens all the time! 😉
So here are five “battlefield tested” email marketing techniques, that far too many aspiring newbie marketers simply neglect and or ignore altogether.
And by doing so, it’s costing them a ton of potential long term profits!
1.) Battlefield tested email marketing technique # one: First, this first proven suggestion may seem like a really minor thing, but it’s not!Entrepreneur, not every visitor that arrives at your (mobile responsive) WordPress blog, and therefore might be attempting to read your emails as well, not all of them unfortunately still has young eyes! 😉
Meaning: don’t create your emails in microscopically tiny print! It’s too hard to try and read!If you have a state of the art, industry respected, paid email service provider of some kind, they usually include a text editor for a reason.
So try and use a font size of 15 and above! 😎 Because, if (either) your blog post and or email messages don’t get read, nothing else matters!Just saying!
2.) Battlefield tested email marketing technique # two: Next, try and stay away from the “big six!” Huh?These all too common six profit repelling words and or phrases, that when they appear in your emails subject lines. Either one of two things is (ultimately) likely to happen!
(A.) Either they automatically cause your subscribers spam filters to send it directly to their spam box!(B.) Or, your subscribers see them and immediately conclude your message is nothing more than just another over “hyped” sales pitch of some kind!
And neither outcome positively affects your reputation and or bank account!Agreed? So you might wanna think twice about using the following “big six” profit repelling words and or phrases in your (all important) email subject lines! 1) Free! 2.) Save! 3.) Buy now! 4.) Order today! 5.) Best deals on! 6.) Sales ends blank!
Entrepreneur, forget about it! 😉

3.) Battlefield tested email marketing technique # three: Moving right along.Ladies & gentlemen, have you ever heard the famous saying, with regards to successful investing on Wall Street?
It goes like this, “Bulls and bears, will eventually make money! But pigs get slaughtered!” A fancy way of saying, don’t try and get it all (whatever all happens to be) in your very first interaction with your potential prospect/subscriber!
That’s an all too common email marketing mistake, you see far too many aspiring newbie marketers making!Case in piont: if you need (or want) a valid phone number, in order to strategically follow up with a prospect!
Don’t make the strategic mistake of asking for it right away, on your initial opt in form!Instead, after they’ve confirmed, then in your first follow up “thank you” for subscribing email message, that’s when you can mention, that if they’d like a “free” 15-30 minute Coaching/Consultation session!
And be sure you give it some sort of perceived value, like this is a blank dollar value! And strictly limited to the first 20 people (or X number of subscribers) that respond to this time sensitive offer! (Which can and may be removed and or discontinued at anytime!)
All they need to do is click the link and schedule an appointment (and include their best phone number) on your calendar!
(Of course!) if you don’t currently have a calendar (and) have absolutely no plans to get one anytime soon! 😎 Then simply have them go to the contact page of your WordPress blog and simply leave their best number and at least two separate dates in the next coming week for you and or someone in your organization to contact them!
Don’t Leave Some Of Best Most Helpful Marketing Techniques Locked Away Inside Your Head!
4.) Battlefield tested email marketing technique # four: This next overlooked email marketing technique, works extremely well with offline bricks and mortar businesses.
Let’s say your travel business is currently located in a mini strip mall, that has eight other stores along with yours located in it.
And one of the stores is a retailer that sells really nice luggage. And therefore is one of your most conveniently located cross promotional partners. And even though they currently have a state of the art, mobile responsive WordPress blog.
They still haven’t quite embraced the (all important) list building aspect of successful online marketing.Which means they’re not currently using any type of paid email service provider like you are!
But they are (thank goodness) extremely active on both twitter and FB!Just like you are!So here’s where and “how” you can demonstrate to them, the real power of cross promotions and effective email marketing!
First, find out “which” day or days they’re having their annual “Close Out Luggage Liquidation Day” sales event! And the both of you tweet about it!
You include their time sensitive X% off discount coupon in your tweets, plus post them on your FB fan page as well! And here’s where having your very own (either) highly responsive mobile marketing list and or opt in list of 863 local subscribers will go along way as well!
Let’s say you send at least two unscheduled “broadcast” email messages to your list, making your “travel audience subscribers” aware, that your cross promotion partner is having a final liquidation blowout sale on some of their older and slightly used luggage!
And lets say 35% of your list regularly opens and reads your email messages, because you sent two broadcast emails within two days of each other! That means a total of 302 subscribers opened it. (863 x .35% = 302)
And out of those 302 opens, 30% actually went to the luggage store, which is conveniently (located) in the same mini mall as your business and actually made a purchase or two! 😎
That means 90 of your VIP subscribers, just added to your cross promotional partners bottom line and they didn’t spend a nicked to generate them! And the exact same process works in reverse for you, with your best, most engaged cross promotion/joint venture partners!(302 x.30% =90)
And of course, the bigger and more responsive your list, the better for both you and your JV/cross promotional partners! 😉
Now strictly in the interest of space, number five is a little involved, so let’s save it for part three! 😎 And we’ll really go deep!
Until the, hopefully you see “why” you definitely shouldn’t continue to overlook and or ignore altogether, these proven email marketing techniques correct?Good!

Great tips! A couple notes: I couldn’t agree more on the size of the text in your email – I use 14-point font – just a little bigger but much easier to read than a standard size font.
Plus, I like your call out on the 6 “spam” words 🙂 Those are hard to refrain from using sometimes but we all have a thesaurus at the ready!
