So what images immediately comes to mind when you hear the term opportunistic marketing? Hopefully your creative marketing smarts are energized. And you realize and appreciate practically any economy. But especially a so called shrinking (recession) driven local economy.
Because whenever your local economy starts slow up in any capacity. This is when the non traditional marketing strategies and tactics start flourishing big time.
And even though entrepreneurs of literally all shapes and sizes start gradually or dramatically scaling back on their traditional advertising campaigns. other less traditional lead generation methods start picking up the slack. Have a look and see “why” you definitely wanna add a little opportunistic marketing strategies and tactics to the mix.
Why Marketing Like a Rock Star is Starting To Become All Too Common!
Entrepreneur during the brutally hot summer months. “How’ many times do you think the following situation happens. men & women with really nice high end vehicles . Including high end trucks and SUV’s (Sports Utility Vehicles) head over to the local car wash.
In order to get the vehicles both washed and waxed. Sounds pretty common, does it not? What probably isn’t as obvious is the following.
Each time these owners pass through. It just might be or quickly become a non traditional lead generation opportunity for a think outside of the box CFP (Certified Financial Planner.)
Right about now, you’re probably wondering out loud. “How” in the world could an ordinary car wash be or quickly become a potential goldmine of previously untapped, non traditional lead generation opportunities for a think outside the box CFP or Estate Planner? Fair enough entrepreneur.
Believe It Or Not! (Most Previously Untapped Marketing Opportunities Are More About Making The Right Mindset Shift!)
First of all in order to put the entire process in terms of long term marketing possibilities. Let’s say on average during the months of May – September. On average about 40 luxury vehicles per month pass through the local car washes. So during this five month period. A total of 200 vehicle owners (give take), pass through these car washes.
Which means the owners of these high end vehicles all know at least 25 other local men & women. A percentage will consistently earn at least what they do annually, correct? And clearly some will definitely earn a little more than they do.
And live in apartments, condos, townhouses or homes as nice or nicer, correct? So let’s have a closer look at the math. (200 X 25 = 8,000) All of which may or may not be local.
So for a second put yourself in the shoes of one of these luxury vehicle owners. You head over to the car wash. And you planned on paying X for your standard wash and wax, correct?
But the cashier has been instructed to hand the 1st X amount of luxury vehicle owners, (before they pay.) They’re handed a sealed envelop. And here’s “what’s” written on the outside of the envelop. In big, bold red letters. Music legend Stevie Wonder couldn’t miss. “You definitely deserve this!”
Entrepreneur When Was The Last Time You Were Totally Surprised By A Business Owner Or Service Provider? (And You Didn’t Constantly Brag About It?)
Inside the envelop to begin with. Will be at least five or X number of extremely time sensitive gift certificates. “What” would that little gesture do for you? Especially long term?
1.) First: An extremely time sensitive ‘bounce back” offer from the car washer owner of “whatever” the retail or service business is. They return within X number of days. And they save X% off for doing so.
2.) Second: They also receive an extremely time sensitive time sensitive gift certificate (for two) , from one of the areas top restaurants. And for dragging a friend or colleague with them. They save X% off.
3.) Third: The ladies also receive an extremely time sensitive gift certificate (for two!). To a local women’s deluxe, women facial treatment center. They come alone and they only save 10 or X% off the current retail price. However, simply for dragging a female friend with them whose at least 18.
Before the ten or X day expiration date expires. Both ladies get their deluxe facial treatments for free. And since it’s a $47 dollar value per customer. This makes this specific extremely time sensitive offer. A combined $94 dollar value.
It’s Past Time To Stop Letting Potential Marketing Opportunities Pass You By!
4.) Four: And for the guys. They get an extremely time sensitive offer from a local, non franchised retail appliance center. They basically get a market tested, two sided gift certificate. Side (A.) Invites the recipient to enter their popular monthly free drawing. simply by joining their constantly growing opt in email list.
Where each month. both a male & female 1st grand prize winner automatically wins. A state of the art 75 inch flat screen TV. Which usually retails for at least $1,499 dollars or X.
And side (B.) invites the recipient to come to the retailers store. Before the ten or X day expiration date window expires. They come alone and they only save ten or X% off up to the first $200 dollars.
However, simply for dragging a friend with them whose at least 18. Before the ten or X day expiration date window expires. They automatically save up to 40 or X% off. Up to $2,000 dollars.
