This Is Proof Positive You’re Definitely Gonna Need Some Effective Time Management Skills!
Okay let’s be brutally honest here. You, me and your major competitors only have 24 hours in a day, correct? Neither Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or Warren Buffet can change that undeniable fact, correct? That being said.
You definitely need regular sleep in order to recharge your energy effectively, right? And if you work for yourself, you’re definitely going to need to allocate more quality time in order successfully get your venture off the ground, agreed?
And if you’re currently working full or part time or working more than one job. You already know just “how” vitally important it is to develop some effective time management skills, right?
Because whether you’re single but especially if you have a spouse or live in significant other. And there are possibly kids involved as well. You have to effectively manage your time, in order to maintain some type of reasonable lifestyle balance.
In fact upon closer examination you or your major competitors might discover “how to” get a ton more productivity out of the same 24 hour day. But it’s gonna take a shift in your marketing perspective. Are you up for this or not?
Developing Effective Management Skills Is Definitely Worth The Time And Effort!
Let’s start this particular mind shift perspective by re-visiting a theme I recently covered in a previous post. The one and only Gay V (Vaynerchuk), has a youtube video recording of one of his incredibly popular live Q & A summits.
Where he readily acknowledges early on in his entrepreneurial journey. When he was fresh out of college and nowhere near as sophisticated and experienced as he is now. (And had yet to publish any mega best selling books yet.)
As he was slowly taken over the day to day running of the family business. ( A retail wine and beverages store.) He said one particular day, after he had 100 X% off discount coupons printed up.
He temporarily left some of the other employees in charge and immediately headed off to a popular local mall. And basically placed all 100 of them under the windshield of the cars parked in the mall. Now remember, this is not the same rock star Gary V, (who fast forward) is now a much sought after keynote speaker,
And he turns down more potentially lucrative one on one consultation requests, that lots of other aspiring entrepreneurs would leap at the chance to be involved in.
Nor is this the same Gary V who is now routinely featured on the cover of major influential magazines or is a constantly sought after to appear on national business related TV shows or radio or podcasts of major influencer-s.
This was just before all of this is taken place.
Entrepreneur Can You Really Afford To Continuously Invest Ten To Twenty Five Hours Per Week Doing What You’re Currently Doing?
Meaning, “how” many hours are you currently utilizing, (more like wasting!) just mindlessly surfing Facebook or watching non productive youtube videos. Of course you and I need some quality time for a little recreation every now and then.
But week in and week out. You’re bingeing on Netflix or Hulu both during the week and even more on the week. “How” much of your time is actually invested or devoted to developing some bankable skills?
Which brings me full circle to the pre sophisticated Gary V’s initial attempts at marketing or promoting his family’s retail wine store business.
First of all look at “how” untargeted his placing flyers under 100 or X number of randomly selected windshield strategy plays out. The vast majority of the recipients probably have no idea whatsoever who the company is, right?
And probably none of them were proactively looking for some local store to purchase wine. In fact who says any of those recipients who had a flyer placed under their windshield are even wine drinkers to begin with?
It’s Far Better To Narrow Your Marketing And promotional Efforts! (And Laser Target Your Focus On Those Who Have Shown Some Type Of Interest In Your Products Or Services!)
So what if pre sophisticated Gary V or you placed a huge sign in your store promoting a free drawing. Where the first grand prize winner wins a $450 dollar bottle of wine of their choice. Say what?
And each runner up automatically wins an extremely time sensitive secondary prize worth X. However, simply for dragging a friend with them to Gary’s store, whose at least 18 before the ten or X day expiration date window expires.
Plus consider these additional potential benefits of strategically using opt in email. Unlike paying for (not necessarily cheap) printing of additional coupons each time Gary wants to guerilla marketing promotional efforts.
He or you can send an extremely time sensitive coupon offer to all the subscribers who didn’t open his last offer. Why keep wasting effort driving across town soliciting complete strangers? Who the vast majority probably have no interest whatsoever in what you’re offering.
Doesn’t it make far more sense to develop some effective time management skills? And allocate the vast majority of your time to profit producing activities.
