So when’s the last time a really close friend, extremely close relative, associate, respected colleague, neighbor or whomever. Suggested a local restaurant, local dentist, doctor, attorney, realtor, stock investment tracking software,website,movie, clothing or boutique store etc?
And as a direct result of their personal five star recommendation. You and I where persuaded to do X, Y or Z. Agreed. So needles to say or constantly repeat. When you invest, both your time, money and other extremely valuable assets or resources.
Into consistently implementing, some type of market tested, relationship marketing strategies or tactics etc. Both the short and long bankable results.
Will not only be continuous. Which is definitely what you want, correct? Good answer. Me too BTW. But your constant long term growth. Will be geometric, not just snails pace linear in nature.Huh? Translated: Because of the constant, on and offline, positive, viral word of mouth and mouse buzz. Both on and off of social media.
Your increase of new business, will spread far, wide and incredibly fast. As opposed to constantly running, outrageously expensive ads or promotions. Which outcome do you honestly prefer?
So How Much Longer Are You Going To Actively Resist Implementing Some Potentially Bank Account Filling Relationship Marketing Strategies Or Tactics!
Case in point. The initial first component of this particular blog post. I’m going to (temporarily borrow), it’s main theme if you will. From a previous blog post.
But then it’s going to morph into another subtle, yet previously overlooked. Potential, untapped marketing opportunity or two. Then strategically double back in part two of the other post.
Which this post, got its original theme from. Okay? Hopefully, this isn’t too overly complicated to follow. And ultimately profit from. Right? Good answer.
Anyway. Imagine this all too common, everyday occurrence. A local, single location, mom & pop gas station/convenience store. You know the type being referred to here, right? They basically sell gas, and they also have a small, rather overpriced convenience store component to their business.
Where you can buy cigarettes.Not really great tasting coffee. Doughnuts, pastries etc.
Pizza or subs during lunch hours. Sodas, beer, potato chips and so on and so forth. And one morning, while one of your top, female sales reps, stops in, during the morning hours, to quickly pay for $10 or X dollars worth of gas.
And probably buy an Xtra large cup of coffee and a plain bagel.
She can’t help but notice, how many local women are both: A.) Currently standing in line ahead of her.To pay for their purchases. B.) And in the short time she’s standing in line. How many local women, are steadily pulling up to the pump, in order to do the same.
Translated: She has a marketing light bulb moment of intense clarity. And sees, a previously untapped marketing opportunity. For your single location, retail designer jewelry store.Huh?
Have You Also Noticed How Intense Moments Of Marketing Clarity Or Potentially Profitable Marketing Inspiration Seem To Appear At What Seems Like The Strangest Times?
So after paying for her stuff. She immediately sends a text. Saying she definitely needs to share her marketing inspiration, at this mornings,45 minute, Monday Morning meeting session.
The short of it is this. She makes you aware. How many of your ideal target audience. Translated: Local females, are constantly doing business, with this local mom & pop combination, gas station convenience store.
And how your retail, designer jewelry store, could form, some type of mutually beneficial.Joint Venture, (JV) arrangement, with the owner(s.) Especially since, this particular, female sales associate.
Along with a couple of your other full time employees. Are not only on a first name basis with the owner(s.) And have been so for years. But these same employees.
Have also been literally patronizing this one particular combo gas station for years. So the goodwill is already well established.Right? Absolutely.
This Is What Makes Constantly Building Your Credibility So Worth It!
So here’s the short of it. In order to cut to the marketing chase. And get to the really juicy marketing/promotional stuff. After inviting the owners to lunch, at one of the areas nicer restaurants.
Which your retail jewelry store. Strategically keeps an open, running tab of $250 or X amount of dollars every month.This way, you can wine and dine, potential, future JV or cross promotional partners. Bingo.
Anyway. Here’s how everything initially plays out. You ask the owners, the all important “magic’ question. Say what? Which is. “Is it okay for you to occasionally refer them new business?” Huh?
And rest assured. A staggering 98% of the time. The answer is a resounding yes. And the remaining two percent. You and I simply move on asap. Without leaving skid marks. And simply don’t give it a second thought. Agreed? Absolutely.
And by the same token. “Are they okay with occasionally, returning the favor?” Provided of course, doing so, in no way,currently interferes, or takes away, from the way they currently serve the customer/client base.
Don’t Let The Initial Tip Of Your Previously Untapped Marketing Funnel Be All You See Or Ultimately Profit From!
Because doing so.Would not only be a shame. Because this would mean, you or your major competitors, will have inadvertently. Left the vast majority of your potential long term, gross front and back end profits on the table.
