Let’s be brutally honest up front. There are no shortages of potential ways for you or your major competitors, to try and reach out to your ideal target market. Agreed? Absolutely.
On the other hand. How has your potentially expensive Facebook PPC (Pay Per Click) ad campaign going? Are you making any real traction? Or is your extremely hard money constantly going out the door? With little or no bankable results to show for it.

(Even if they are slightly discounted.) Effective and proactive use of this incredibly affordable, cutting edge technology is no longer an option. If you or your major competitors are going to remain relevant in your target audiences eyes.
Yes Even In The Age Non Stop Social Media Marketing!(You Should Still Be Strategically Using Proven Email Marketing Strategies And Tactics!)
In full disclosure. This very first real world case study. The example I’m providing is definitely not ideal nor a text book version of the strategic use of email marketing.
However, (I think) you too will ultimately conclude. It’s definitely another proven example of just “how” potentially profitable. Email marketing. Even when it’s not exactly a text book case. Can still ultimately turn out to be or become extremely valuable and profitable.
Take a hard and up close look. Then you decide. Fair enough? First a little much needed back story. So you too can put everything into proper context. It’s was late on a Friday afternoon. And I -among other things- was frantically searching my gmail account.
Desperately looking for a message from a vendor whose major podcasting platform I had recently appeared on. And I was looking for their much anticipated confirmation email.
Signaling they (or someone!) in their organization had recently completed professionally editing my guest podcast appearance. And were now onto the proactive business of uploading it up to the various podcast hosting platforms.
Like Podbean, Stitcher, Apple itunes, Google Play, Anchor.fm , Spotify and so many others. To numerous to name.
Sometimes The Really Little Things Ultimately Add Up To Some Really Big Potentially Profitable Things!
So out of sheer desperation. I decided to look in all places. My spam folder. Which I had literally neglected to do for months on end. And when I did so. As you can well imagine. There was literally tons of junk email messages. From you name it.
(Every body except who I was hoping to find any type of encouraging message from.)
However, as I was about to delete the messages. One in particular. Which originated from the contact page on my blog.
Was from a tech guru named Sumit Gupta. Ever heard of him? Neither had I. but it turns out he’s the webmaster at an incredibly popular. And extremely high ranking tech site called www.bookwebmaster.com. (Take a look at the initial email message he sent me.
To invite me to participate in a “Round Up” post project he’s currently working on.)
Can You Really Afford To Say No To This Type Of Free Viral marketing Leverage?
So as I previously mentioned in a few paragraph ago. Even though his initial email message to me was discovered in my gmail spam folder. I immediately responded with a resounding yes to his invitation.
After apologizing profusely for my unintended delay in initially getting back to him. And he of course was very gracious with his understanding.
But going forward (entrepreneur.) look at the long term, potentially profitable marketing leverage. Available to you or your major competitors. You see his sites over SEO ranking?
In case you don’t know. It will take an awful lot of sweat equity and highly influential back links from sites with extremely high Domain Authority. Before you and I or your major competitors get anywhere near a site with an overall SEO ranking of 69. Would you not agree? Absolutely.
Meanwhile. Being included in such a highly influential “Round Up” post. Means incredibly high and hopefully long term visibility. Right? Yep. For literally pennies on the dollar.
You Definitely Don’t Need To Be Or Remain In The Dark About What Your Email Marketing Strategy Truly Needs!
Basically you’ll want to use a paid email service provider which allows you to segment your lists in various ways.
This way after all of your subscribers receive your generic “Welcome Email” message. Then you can segment them into relevant subscriber groups. Who -going forward- start receiving both pre -written and unscheduled “broadcast” email messages.
Which are based on the links they clicked on. Or the boxes they initially checked off etc. Now the messages they received are tailored and customized to their specific wants and needs.
And will ultimately lead to much higher overall engagements and conversion rates.
The Real Point Is You Really Never Know How Or When Opportunity Will Strike!
So I gotta ask you entrepreneur. Even though this particular real life case study. Was far from ideal text book. Ultimately. Based on the many anticipated long term benefits.Like being found by other potential marketers. Who might like to:
A.) Invite you or your major competitors to participate in a highly visible Round Up post.
B.) Participate or a form some sort of mutually beneficial JV (Joint Venture) or cross promotional relationship.
C.) Perhaps someone reading the blog post will want you or your major competitors to appear as a one or recurring guest on their wildly popular podcast. (How cool would that be?)
D.) Maybe one of the participants in the Round Up post or one of the current or future readers may offer you or your major competitors the opportunity to write an ongoing column in their current or future publication.
And all of this could potentially come about as a direct result of some proactive email marketing strategies. Even if it isn’t a traditional text book case. Don’t you agree?
