(But It Most Certainly Is! And Sadly It’s Done All The Time!)
Someone possibly you decides to start a business or service. And in the vast majority of cases. They nor I have an extensive formal educational background. Meaning they don’t have an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree behind them.
Instead they initially rely heavily on hustle, creativity and determination. But soon the undeniable reality of lack ongoing capital.
No previous real world experience to fall back on. Outrageous hours needed especially in the beginning. The all too common major marketing mistake is this.
Thinking not knowing or understanding their proven fundamentals of “what” you’re getting or have already gotten yourself into ahead of time.
Your sheer determination alone will be enough. Sadly it will not. Don’t you agree?
Entrepreneur It Definitely Helps To Know How To Leverage Assets And Or Resources!
So you’re just starting out. And you decide to run an on or offline traditional ad campaign of some kind. And sadly you nor anyone else in your company knows the first thing about properly structuring your ad.
Meaning you initially have no clue your ad campaigns definitely needs a compelling, “what’s in it for me? ” main power headline.
So more than likely your ads steadily flop. Undeterred, you simply pay for more of the same. Until both your money and patience run thin.
And “if” you’re running online campaigns, you better be effectively utilizing some type opt in email list building strategy.
Otherwise, relying on a first time visitor to your site to buy anything. It’s like attempting a three quarter length shot in basketball. It’s definitely not a high percentage shot.
Newbie Entrepreneurs Definitely Have Viable Marketing Options! (They Just Don’t Know It Yet!)
They haven’t quite realized some of the local, non directly competing vendors in their immediate area. Not only have they successfully been in business in the area the last twenty plus years or so.
But over this same amount time the owner(s) have established tremendous goodwill among both their extremely loyal customer and vendor base.
Not to mention they fact they’ve also created an active opt in email list of 34,473 subscribers.
Who with just one or two carefully crafted emails. They can push a button. And you and or your major competitors business or service could and in all likelihood would be flooded with a ton of first time customers.
Plus the friend or colleague you ethically bribe to drag with them. They can also personally introduce you to a few of their key non directly competing vendors.
And you form a few JV (Joint Venture) profit or resource sharing arrangements with them. And suddenly your previously marginal company on service is thriving, agreed?
Now instead of the customary linear growth. You systematically experience geometric growth. Suddenly bigger more influential players want to at least discuss power partnering with you.
A smaller less influential players start actively pursuing you.
Your Current Or Future Growth Does Not Have To Be Decided By Forces Totally Outside Of Your Control!
Non directly competing companies and services literally have all types of underutilized assets or resources they’re not taking full or any advantage of.
You can leverage, lease or barter for the use of their distribution. Their sales force. Maybe they have unused warehouse space. Which you or your major competitors could at least negotiate store some or most of your unsold inventory their.
In exchange for paying them a percentage of the gross front end sales only. And you pocket 100% of the long term repeat back end sales.
Sadly the all too common major marketing mistake far too many aspiring on or offline business owners make. Is initially jumping in feet first.
Without first having a realistic idea what their true marketing/promotional options are. Hopefully this doesn’t describe you, does it?
