Entrepreneur, you need to be extremely honest here,okay? “How” much in the last (six months) alone do you think you’ve invested or spent on outrageously expensive traditional advertising ideas? And “how’s” it working for you? Would you not agree, that traditional advertising of any kind, is not only expensive, but at best your results are hit and miss! Don’t you agree?
But you’ve gotta advertise, in order to create new business right? Or do you? After you read this particular post, you be the judge!
Why Speculate With Expensive Advertising Ideas When A Simple Marketing Twist OR Two Will Do!
Suppose you own a couple of local parking garages, that are located right near where the downtown state workers are employed.And let’s suppose (up town) there is a local tire manufacturer shop. Your all too typical (struggling), cash starved tire shop owner constantly blows a small fortune on outrageously expensive traditional advertising ideas, such as local newspaper, TV or local radio ads etc. (Un strategic direct mail ad campaigns etc.)
They just continue to spread their ever shrinking advertising dollars around, with little or no bankable results insight! That is until you decided to share your extremely valuable marketing expertise with them.
First off, let’s be clear here. Since you already have an established business relationship with this particular (fellow) small business owner and or service provider, (that’s why) they’ll bother to listen and seriously consider “what’ you have to share! You “ask” if they like to dramatically lower their traditional out of pocket advertising costs.
Of course they’re all ears! Here’s “what” you suggest; (first) you’ll need to confirm (as best you can) “how” much they spend in order to generate that all important first time new customer.
And just for the sake of example, let’s say it cost them -a minimum- of $125 dollars (or X) and they’re literally at their wits end about it. Which means they’re open to trying to improve their end result.
Sometimes All It Really Takes Is A Little Marketing Twist To Get The Ball Rolling!
What if you (the) garage parking lot owner, proposes every customer (car owner) that pays their garage rental (either) one week in advance or one month in advance, you’ll do one of two things for them!
1.) First: whenever they pay cash for one week in advance and you’ll give them credit for 50% off the next week or any week of their choice!
2.) Two: For every car owner that’s pays by cash or credit card , for one month’s rental fee in advance, you’ll automatically credit them for one week’s worth of rentals payments credit!
In reality, your tire manufacturer (or ) auto body shop owner will simply reimburse you for this marketing/cost expense! Because you’re also going to give your customer a time sensitive 25% off new customer only discount coupon to their shop!
So their immediate benefit is, instead of them speculating with expensive local radio or TV ads, that practically no one pays attention to! That routinely cost them a bare bones minimum of at least $125 dollars or more!
In order to generate that all important first time customer, instead now they’ll only invest anywhere from a low of $40-$65 dollars (or X!), plus whatever discount percentage they offer on their “new customer only” discount coupon. In order to come face to face with that exact same (all important) potential new first time customer!
They just lowered their typical new customer cost, you’re using a simple marketing twist to stimulate more cash bearing customer activity.
And your extremely valued customer base, benefits by saving money on -both- their car garage rental fees and their saving money at (either) the auto body repair shop and or local tire manufacturer etc. (Or both!)
And it’s win/win! So which do you prefer entrepreneur? Continuously spending an outrageous fortune on these (at best) marginally effective advertising ideas, or inexpensive test and uncover some powerful profit producing (long term) marketing strategies? The choice is yours! Any questions?
