(Automatically Means You Can’t Effectively Compete!)
Can you imagine strategically leveraging a simple cup of outrageously great tasting gourmet coffee. As a proven springboard to helping you or your major competitors build and further establish brand authority.
All for literally pennies on the dollar. And the really cool part is ladies & gentlemen. Just because you’re initially starting out with no advertising budget. (Not in the traditional sense anyway.)
There’s absolutely no written law(s) anywhere stating you can’t be extremely competitive. Clearly you and I can’t attempt to go head to head with the big boys and girls in our respective industries/niches.
Who else is definitely for getting creative?
You’d Be Both Shocked And Amazed What You Can Accomplish Initially Starting Out Advertising With No Budget!
Say strictly for hypothetical marketing illustration purposes only. You currently co-own or solely own a non franchised, retail appliance center.
And your ideal customers total lifetime customer value metrics. Are somewhere in the neighborhood of a low of $175 dollars to $11,000 dollars over the next five to seven year period. Give or take.
(And of course those are gross hypothetical figures.) So let’s say your store is currently located inside a mini strip mall. Which currently has five of it’s seven commercial spaces currently occupied.
And two of your business neighbors are an extremely popular women’s clothing/shore store. Plus an extremely popular women’s boutique shop.
And since you’ve personally both owners for the better part of two and a half years. you ask both if they’re okay with periodically referring them new business and customers. at very little upfront cost to them BTW. This proven marketing concept is otherwise known as the so called “Magic Question.”
And Don’t Forget Initially Having A Small Marketing Budget! (Definitely Automatically Mean Having Small Promotional Ideas!)
Since you already have a pretty good idea “what” your ideal customers are worth to your bottom line. Especially over any five to seven year period.
And both the women’s clothing and women’s boutique shops primary female customers. Definitely enjoying your products and services too.
Here’s what you at least initially propose to both shop owners. In order to help them both profit seeking vendors further establish their respective brands/reputations.
(In fact let’s enter one more potential long term player into the mix.) Let’s say an extremely popular, non franchised gourmet coffee shop owner is also one of the five occupants in the popular mini strip mall.)
And since you’ve literally known both co-owners for at least the last five years or so. You find out if they’re open to you periodically referring them new business and customers too. For literally pennies on the dollar too.
You’ll start by investing a few thousand dollars in some rather big plastic mugs. Which the gourmet coffee shop starts affectionately referring to as their signature “Big Gulp” beverages. 😀
Take Your All Important Critical Step Forward! (And Watch Most Of Your Other Major Pieces Start Gradually Falling Into Place!)
So you invest X amount of dollars in those plastic cups for your gourmet coffee JV (Joint Venture) and or cross promotional partner.
And they will serve either the 1st X amount of customers through those vendors doors. A free “Big Gulp” cup of coffee. (Which typically retails for $11.99 per cup or X.)
Or they will serve every customer who drags a friend with them to the aforementioned vendors stores. (Whose at least 18.) Both customers get one free “Big Gulp” cup of coffee.
And the gourmet coffee’s employees who are doing the serving. Just make those customers aware. Going forward, every time they bring the cup back with them to the gourmet coffee shop.
They only pay $3.99 per cup or X. (Plus they automatically save X% off. Provided they drag a friend with them whose at least 18.) And you also highly recommend both vendors start building their very own opt in email lists.
Your trade off here is. Every customer of the vendors involved. Who drags someone with them whose at least 18. They get a sealed envelop which reads on the outside. In big bold red letters. “You Definitely Deserve This!”
So you know it will only take a few nano seconds at best to rip it open, right? 😀 Inside they will find one of your best, market tested, extremely time sensitive gift certificates.
You or your major competitors will “discover” what else. Coming up very shortly in part two, okay?
For now. Are you starting to better understand “why” starting with little or no advertising budget. Isn’t as big a deal as some try to make it out to be!
