So as you hopefully discovered by now, in the first two installments of this ongoing series, about “what” both local cab drivers and college students have to do with your local diner systematically increasing retail sales?
Turns out, it’s quite a bit, don’t you agree? Now in this third installment of the trilogy, we’re going to attempt add two more (underground) potential long term marketing spokes to the wheel!
And this should help cement (once and for all) the real possibilities of an effective, three prong long term marketing offensive.
Hopefully, you can see “how” in the first two installments, either the extremely savvy local diner and or the extremely savvy local cab company might aggressively -and effectively- use these little known (non techie) marketing strategies, to systematically increase their retail sales, without spending the traditional outrageous upfront fortune in order to do so! Correct?
In the remainder of this post, we will (yet again) explore another untapped potential marketing angle as well, by strategically introducing, another potential (local) marketing heavyweight into the picture!
So “How” In The World Can Your Local Cab Company And Local College Students Combine Forces To Help Your Diner Systematically Increase Retail Sales?
Here in part three let’s dive even deeper into the long term marketing mix and see “what” if anything more can be gained from our hypothetical marketing example.
Ladies & gentlemen, surely you must know and understand, (as well) as appreciate that not all college students major in extremely heavy drinking, to wee hours of the morning, and excessive partying 101 & 102! Agreed? )
Because some of these extremely gifted young people not only graduate with honors! But every year, several of them literally pursue their dreams, and goals like there’s no tomorrow! And they are definitely to be applauded for doing so!
But then, there is definitely that extremely small amount of exceptionally gifted students that for “whatever” reasons, they simply know their next step is to get on with things, and they whined up leaving their college experience altogether, in order to seriously pursue their dreams!
And they therefore, (often) dropout, and or leave school prematurely, in order to do so!
You know the names (alright!), people like Bill gates (yea, that Bill Gates), Micheal Dell, Mark Zuckerberg and countless others! They know “what” it is they definitely want, and they get after it!
Let These One Or Two Per-center’s Sort And Sift Themselves!
Now granted, trying to actually find these super driven individuals, is like looking for the proverbial needle in a hay stack! Which is “why” that rather time wasting exercise is not at all recommended!
Instead, let’s focus on a way that your local diner could simply leverage the overall collective body of local college students, and let simple attrition help sift and separate the have from the have not’s!
Meaning: the ones that really want it vs those that really don’t!Specifically, here’s a rather simple way to do so!
Run a rather large half or full page ad in a few of the local college papers that allow outside paid ads in the on campus student newspapers.
And or approach someone on campus about periodically getting in front of students that are currently majoring, and or minoring in some type of business related classes!
(In short: do “whatever” it is you initially have to do, in order to effectively tap into this untapped plentiful resource of student, (on and off campus) networks!
Here’s “what” you’re proposing to them! You will give them special VIP discount coupon cards they can sell to the general public for just $7 dollars each!
Sometimes You Just Have To Get Out Of Your Own Way!
Or family plans for any families of three or more, for just $19 dollars per year! And of course they’re renewable annually as well!
And these annually renewable discount coupon cards, entitles the holders to (just for example purposes only!), say 35% off any and every desert they buy!
They also save 25% off any breakfast they purchase, and 25% off any lunch or dinners they buy as well!
And when they come in on any of your traditionally slowest days, or nights of the year, (provided) they bring these laminated discount cards with them of course, they automatically save an additional 10% more off any savings they were already expected to receive!
Plus! They automatically receive an additional 5% off any current savings, any time they bring a brand new first time customer with them, that’s over 18!
And they automatically save an additional 50% off any purchase made on their birthday! (And yes that includes any and all online purchases that are made from your state of the art, (mobile responsive) WordPress website/blog!) Plus any and all guests automatically save 25% off as well!
“How” Much Can Your Diner Save With This Type Of Non traditional Marketing Approach?
If you’re starting to get the idea that they are simply going all out to “ethically bribe” first time customers into their diner! You are correct-da-moon-doe!
You’ll see “why” in just a bit! So please stay tuned! And (if need be) you can definitely inexpensively test some other far more creative marketing possibilities as well! But here’s “how” and where it (hopefully) positively affects these potential college students! Especially the one or two per-centers!
Actually, there are two potential ways, they can benefit!
1.) Potential benefit # one: First, for every $7 dollar plan they sell to “whomever” the college students to get to keep $5 dollars! So they earn five dollars per sale! Or 70% of that first front end sale of a $7 dollar discount coupon or 70% of the $19 dollar family-front end- plan or $13.30 cents for every $19 dollar VIP discount coupon plan they sell!
(They just have the customers fill out a sort of receipt, and really short form and bring it back to you, and then you call the customer once their laminated discount card is ready. And they come in to pick it and hopefully use it while they’re there!))
(Note: Here’s the really cool part to your diner or “whatever” your particular business and or service happens to be! You keep 100% of any and all renewals!)
Your Ad Or Marketing Budget Doesn’t Have To Be All Spent On Traditional Stuff!
2.) Potential benefit # two: Here’s the other way you entice these college students to participate! Not only do they earn money on every initial front end sale! But they also earn ongoing monthly residual points!Meaning; every time anyone brings in their laminated card to use it. That particular college students, affiliate ID) will be credited!
Their ID, (affiliate ID number) will be on the back of the card. And they automatically receive a three percent-non payable- commission credit. And at the end of the month, they get to credit that towards any purchases they make at your diner!
And the moment they gross $1,000 dollars in gross sales volume (or X), just in case you decide to adopt this exact same concept and apply it to more high end products or services etc.
The college students affiliate, non payable commission credits, automatically goes to say 5% or (X%), from now on! So for example, lets say one month their affiliate card holders spends a total of $957 dollars for the month.
That particular college student, (and or affiliate) would get credit for $28.71 cents worth of “whatever!” That is to say, that first $28.71 cents of their bill is on you! And if their bill happens to exceed that amount, then they pay the difference!
On the other hand, let’s say the aggressive one or two per-centers, consistently sell enough $7 & $19 dollar front end plans, that one month their gross for the month is $1,347. (Forget the change just to keep the math really simple!)
Boost People And You’ll Steadily Increase Your Long Term Profits Too!
Now their 5% non payable commission amount is now $67.35! That’s “how” much they can enjoy before they “have to” spend a penny of their own money!
Now, in part four we’ll cover yet a few more potential creative marketing twists, for you to at least inexpensively test! In the meantime, hopefully you can “see” and are starting to fully appreciate “how’ some local college students can definitely help you increase your retail sales, correct?
