After reading (and hopefully) studying the first three previous installments in this ongoing series about, how one of the NFL’s oldest plays, can and will teach today’s incredibly savvy entrepreneurs, a thing or two about powerful back end marketing strategies and semi fancy sales funnels etc.
Are you -finally- ready to temporarily- step back- and switch creative -think outside the box- marketing gears and reconstruct this entire marketing scenario and come at it from an entirely different sales funnel marketing angle (and hopefully) during the process, uncover at least five previously untapped and potentially lucrative cash flows?
Say yes! Great!
Because that’s exactly what part four is going to attempt to demonstrate, because far too often this term marketing (and or) so called “guerrilla marketing”, sort of gets lumped altogether and this really dangerously generic -way too broad to seriously be effective- marketing mindset point of view, blurres the lines and you literally miss a ton of potential major and minor sub cash flow funnels!
And entrepreneur, that just isn’t cool! Don’t you agree? So part four is going to reconstruct this sales funnel and attempt to zero in on at least five (or more!) potential major and or sub cash flows, that if nothing else ought to be inexpensively tested and tweaked before they’re overlooked and or abandoned altogether!…
So How Can One Of The NFL”s Oldest Plays Lead To Some Serious Potential Untapped Major And Minor Cash Flows?
Easy! But first, let’s go way (way) back in marketing guru Mr.X’s initial early stages of major success.Huh? Think about it for just a second. Long before Mr.X routinely dawned the cover of these various high profile business/entrepreneurial and Internet based magazines.
And long before he was a regularly featured guest on nationally syndicated TV and radio programs etc. Guess what? Mr. X was just another run of the mill online marketer/entrepreneur that was earning a comfortable full time six figure income (on and) offline.
So let’s start there. At one point, as Mr.X started to really figure things out, (from a marketing perspective),and that’s when he initially got the itch to self publish his very first book (which much much later) finally got picked up by a major book publisher!
But in the meantime,as he started routinely speaking (both) locally and was starting to be a regular on a couple of the national speaking tours as well. And during all of this massive creative marketing exposure, to some other very successful men & women that routinely earned seven and eight figures a year (both) on and offline.
Plus,routinely getting invited to sit in on some of those extremely high powered, closed door (late night) power marketing strategy cram sessions!
Let’s just say this is where and “how” he started to really develop his current marketing bearings.
However, to date, he’s not yet earned the just north of $35 million dollars in online sales figures, (in the last seventeen plus years) that he loves to brag about whenever he’s appearing on TV and or radio etc.
But one of the very first proven marketing strategies he totally embraced was power list building 101! And that’s why, (even way back then!), whenever he would be invited to speak -either-locally and or nationally etc. He enthusiastically embraced power list building!
Way Before MR.X Was A Certified Marketing Guru He Still Embraced Basic Proven Marketing Fundamentals!
Here’s the very first thing he would do to consistently massively grow his on and offline database! He would pick out one of the most popular speakers (that was also appearing at the live event) and buy one of their most popular course’s and or programs etc.
(And of course, since he would eventually be doing some type of joint venture /list swap and or affiliate promoting for them, they obviously had no problem (either), giving him their course up front for free and or selling it to him for their actual cost!
Because they knew and understood all too well, that one way or another, they were going to make their minimal investment back many -many- times over! Bingo!)
So typically, these products or services (back then) would be priced somewhere between $497 -$1,997! And when he spoke, he would hold a “free drawing” right them and there! But get this, he would offer two grand prize winners! Say what? Yep!
One male & one female guaranteed winner!
Which means (typically), about 75-90% of his live audience would leap at the chance to win some type of course and or product or services, that had a perceived value of anywhere from $497 to $1,997! Wouldn’t you?
And guess what all the other 98% runner ups got! You guessed it! They actually won two extremely valuable second prizes!
1.) First, just for entering his free drawing, they could purchase his brand new book, (remember) this was one of his very first books! Not the one he’s currently using now to create this massive (and I suspect) totally lucrative back end sales funnel! He hadn’t quite reached that level just yet!
Back then, he was routinely earning hundreds of thousands per year, not millions! (Thing to come!) Anyway, instead of paying the normal retail price of X, for only the cost of shipping and handling (that’s where he first started implementing his now famous $7.95) marketing ploy, they could get the book shipped to them for just $7.95 or X.!
And notice, (back then) he wasn’t asking for a valid phone number yet either! Or if they preferred, they could go to his special lead capture page and download for free, (because they attended this particular live event) a special $97 dollar e-course he had on whatever subject (he strategically tested) and discovered the vast majority of the attendees were desperate to know more about! (Oh yea he’s a sly one alright!)
Slowly Mr.X Started To Discover The Keys To Doors He Didn’t Even Know Were There!
It might even be an affiliate product that he’s currently promoting! Anyway, here’s the point, he started routinely building a massive on and offline in house database! That way, even if one of his online opt in subscribers unsubscribed, he still had a rather inexpensive way to contact his potential leads! Bingo!
2.) But here’s the other genius thing he routinely did (that he learned) from sitting in on those all night power marketing strategy cram sessions!
He would make it known that every person (that both) joined his on and offline database, (and as long) as they remained an active subscriber on both! They could get lifetime VIP discount rates for any future paid one on one consulting time they did with him!
And remember, back then, his one on one consulting rates were only $300 per hour (with a minimum) of two hours! Not his his current corporate rates of $2,500 dollars per hour, with a bare bones minimum of two hours! That he routinely charges his all too eager corporate clients today!
But here’s the marketing twist! He would charge them $300 for the first hour and the next two, (hours two & three), he would only charge them $50 dollars each.
For a grand total of just $400 dollars of prime one on on consulting time!But in order to be eligible for this special pricing discount, all they had to do was pay for all three hours up front!
And then going forward, every hour after that was half price or just $150 per hour, as long as they remained active on both his lists! So you see, gradually Mr.X was slowly coming into his own, as a top notch marketer! Don’t you agree?
In part five, you”ll discover what else Mr.X has up his sleeve and “how” he gradually became a power house and very accomplished marketer.
