Here’s a quick question, for you to seriously consider. Whenever you do any type of paid advertising of any kind. How much long term, residual social proof does it usually produce for you? Say what? Exactly.
For the most part, you or your major competitors, run a PPC (Pay Per Click) Facebook ad campaign. And it either works or it doesn’t right?
Now for you old school -ers in the house.Have you ever run any type of offline, (outrageously expensive!), billboard ad campaign of any kind?
If you haven’t, don’t. Unless you’re into wasting a ton of money, for very little tangible results.
Or maybe you think, local, 30-60 second prime time radio or TV ads are the way to go. Again, if you simply want to burn through a ton of cash. If not, maybe it’s time, you seriously considered, making social proof part of your long term marketing strategy.
Because doing so, allows you to directly and indirectly reach, your ideal prospects and eventual customers, for literally pennies on the dollar.
There Are Literally Tons Of Non Traditional Ways To Use Some Form Of Social Proof To Your Advantage!
Say for example. You’re one of the top three marketing directors, for a very successful, retail cosmetics distributorship. And you absolutely want to get several of your extremely high end perfumes,directly into the hands of your ideal prospects and ultimate customers.
For several obvious reasons. One of which is, your ideal female customer, currently has a total lifetime customer value metric, of somewhere between $450- $7,000 dollars. Give or take or the next five to seven years.
But rather than continually do, what a staggering 95% of your major competitors do. Which pay for outrageously expensive, full and half a page ads, in some of the women glamour magazines. Or blanket higher income zip codes, with snail mail posts cards etc.
Instead, you approach, a local travel agency, which routinely sells higher end travel packages on cruise ships, to your ideal female customers.
And you also approach a local, luggage retailer, who sell higher end luggage, to these same women as well.
You Can And Definitely Should Create Potentially Bank Account Filling Social Proof As Often As Possible!
So imagine ‘what’ will surely happen on some level, when your company, provides, not only every female travel agent, in the office, (including the secretaries),with a free 64 oz. bottle of their choice.
Of some of your best smelling perfumes. Plus allowing the travel agents, to give every female customer, who spends over X amount of dollars with them, a free, extremely time sensitive gift certificate worth X, to your retail outlet.
And they can save 10% off any purchase over $75 or X amount of dollars.However, simply for dragging a friend with them, whose at least 18 to your store. Before the expiration date.
They get to purchase any perfume of their choice, up to 64 ounces, and only pay your actual hard cost. And for joining your opt in email/mobile marketing list.
They automatically get to purchase a second bottle, up to 32 ounces, and save 50% off as well. Say what? How’s that, for building some instant, on and offline social media buzz. For literally pennies on the dollar.
How Many Times Have You Seen A Small Buzz Grow Into A Formidable Tsunami Of On And Offline Buzz?
Now remember, these are local women, who can afford luxury cruises to exotic places all over the planet. So it’s not usual, for them to spend anywhere from $10,000 -$20,000 dollars per trip.
Which means, at least some of their neighbors, co-workers, relatives,siblings, vendors, in-laws, employees, can definitely afford to do the same. Right? No doubt.
So when they wear some of their high end fragrances, to a social event or power lunch. You best believe, at least some of the women present, will definitely wanna know at least two things.
A.) First: Where did they get it?
B.) Second: And how can they purchase some too?
Which in this case, is good for the travel agency and therefore the individual agents, correct? And by extension your company, right? Which means, when it comes time to buy their BFF or niece or sister, Mom or co-workers, a really nice smelling fragrance or two.
Guess which company, will be at the top of their list? Bingo! In part two, you’ll discover ‘how’ to put this particular marketing strategy on steroids.Okay?
