Stop neglecting your Google keyword rank status!

The Google keyword rank process will lower your overall marketing costs!

Did you notice in the previous post regarding Google keyword rank, that even though your listing might be on the first  page, that still may not automatically lead to the avalanche of targeted traffic that you were expecting.

In part two of this post, you’re about to discover three more incredibly eye opening situations to consider regarding that all too elusive myth about being listed on the first page of the search engines, especially as it relates to a front page listing on Google.

Just Because Your Listed On The First Page Of Google Doesn’t Automatically Guarantee You An Avalanche Of Highly Targeted Traffic!

Let’s drill a little deeper into a review of the stats about being listed on the first page of Google, and see if you can’t discover why this  may not actually be the “holy grail” of search engine traffic  that it may appear on the surface to be.

First off,  as you recall from the previous post about the break down of the first seven listings on Googles first  page. Typically, even if you are listed # one on Googles first page for your particular keywords.

(Refer to part one of this post regarding the actual break down of the percentages of Google keyword rank for the particulars.)

According to research conducted by the creators of the Market Samurai (paid) keyword research tool. On average you can realistically expect (about) 42% of the actual clicks.

So let’s use some hypothetical numbers in order to help you really crystallize the concepts. Let’s say that you’re particular (long tail) keyword term is “chocolate cup cakes” and your site is all about the many variations and (designs) regarding cup cakes in general, and “chocolate cup cakes” in particular.

Just Know And Understand The Pro’s And Cons Of Ranking On The Very First Page Of Any Of The Major Search Engines!

So lets say, typically about 1,000 people search for the specific term “chocolate cup cakes.” Since your site will average about 42% of the clicks, that means  (since) your site is currently listed # one on Google, you can expect about 420 first time visitors to actually land on your site.

(1,000 daily searches x .42% click through rate (CTR) = 420 daily free first time web site visitors.) Now then, lets say that one of your competitors sites is currently listed # seven on Googles first page, for a different or similar keyword term.

Which means they can typically expect about 3% of the same 1,000 daily searches. (1,000 x .03% click through rate (CTR) = just 30 daily first time web visitors!

Right away, hopefully you see the tremendous difference in overall traffic volume!Right? But here’s the real kicker, remember, since (on average) probably 97% percent of your (in this ) particular case, daily traffic, is brand new first time visitors.

It’s not very realistic to expect a first time visitor (translated) a complete stranger to buy anything on their very first visit. And if you’re not also strategically listing building in order to follow up with them over time, (via) a paid autoresponder system like aweber.(This cowboys personal choice, and yes that is my affiliate link!)

As you recall from a previous post, once a first time visitor (for whatever) reasons leaves your site, whether they bought anything or not. A staggering 99% of them are probably never coming back!

That being the case, let’s dig a little deeper into this page rank listing concept in order to discover even more gold!

It’s Critically Important That You Constantly Build Your List In Order To Systematically Follow Up Long Term With Your Prospects.

Keep in mine (on average) your typical prospects will need to be exposed to your sales offer, (that is) when your actually trying to sell your products or services or affiliate products and services etc.

They’ll  need to see your offer about seven -ten times. That’s one  of the main reasons that so  many otherwise promising online small businesses fail. Because they often go broke trying to use outrageously expensive traditional advertising methods like local radio, newspaper or local TV ad campaigns.

They (or you) if your not careful will spend an absolute fortune trying to reach new customers, (and paying) retail acquisition prices to do so. Let the big buck corporations blow a fortune on that stuff. You and I will strategically economize by utilizing our secret weapon!

Why it’s none other than good old opt in mail marketing of course. So let’s drill down even further into how your opt in email rate will ultimately affect your chances for long term success.

First off, let’s quickly define the term “opt in rate.” This term basically refers to the percentage of visitors that actually joined your list versus the overall total number of visitors that came to, either your lead capture page and or your WordPress blog in general..

But before that, let’s also define the difference between a ‘hard opt in’ page vs a ‘soft opt in page.’ A hard opt in page refers to your lead capture page, where your online visitor basically has two choices.

A.) Either opt in. (The preferred choice.)

B.) Or leave your site. ( Important note: Your opt in lead capture page is not your sales letter!)

(FYI: Here is an example of an effective lead capture page design. Grab your small business marketing idea kit, now!

Your Blog Is Not Designed To Be The Primary Way That You Build Your List!

A soft ‘opt in’ sales page refers to your blog (meaning) your online (first time visitor), whether they buy anything or not has several other viable choices like, read your articles, view your videos, read your about page, join your list, listen to your podcast, or simply decide to leave your site altogether.

(FYI: If you’re still not sure what’s meant by the term ‘lead capture page’, take a look at mine (and join the list asap!) You basically have two choices. Small business marketing kit.)

Again, let’s say that one hundred unique visitors (over time) arrive at your site, over the course of one day. And for whatever reasons your sites opt in email rate (percentage) equals just 8%. That means that eight out of every 100 hundred unique visitors will join your list.

This doesn’t mean they’ve bought anything yet! Just they’ve joined one of your list, and now you can inexpensively follow up with them over time.(Unless or until they decide to unsubscribe.)

No Matter What Position Your Site Or Blog Ranks In Google Try And Actively Build Your Opt In Email List!

By the way, an eight percent opt in  rate is not exactly crushing it! It’s actually very conservative. This way you have a much more realistic expectation level.

But here’s the real kicker. As you recall, the person with the # one listing on Google, averages 42% of the actual clicks, which meant 420 click through (to their site) out of 1,000 total daily searches.

Since their opt in rate is (just) 8%, that equals 420 x .08% = 33.6 (or) 33 people joined your list!

Now contrast that to your competitor that has the number seven listing on Googles first page. They typically receive 3% of the 1,000 daily searches.

`Understanding How To Benefit From Active Search Results Definitely Gives You A Slight Edge!

That means (only) 30 people actually clicked through to their site. But only 8% of those 30 people actually joined their list. (30 x .08% =2.4 (or) just two people joined their list.

Now that you understand the real story behind the numbers, it’s a lot easier to understand why the site owners with listing from # six through the rest of the pages, basically get little or no real traffic volume, and make very few (if any) sales at all!

And this is also why, you definitely need to continually invest, both your time and money, into better understanding the Google keyword rank process.Don’t you agree?

Q.) After reading both posts in this series, which stat did you find the most eye opening and helpful and why?
