Seven Really Cool Reasons Being An Entrepreneur Is Great And Scary As Hell Too!

Seven Really Cool Reasons Being An Entrepreneur Is Great And Scary As Hell Too!

So you definitely totally love being an entrepreneur right? But let me ask you something, on the day you actually cut the cord (gave your two week notice), unless of course you started right out of the gate owning your own business or service.

Did you actually tell your boss to “take this job and shove it?” Just curious. Anyway, obviously there are lots of advantages, both monetarily speaking and lifestyle choice wise, that make being an entrepreneur all that. Don’t you agree?

What are some of your favorite reasons. But you know, with that fabulous step into untold freedom of choice comes a mountain of personal and professional responsibility. Would you not agree?

And truth told, at times it can be downright scary as hell, especially in the very beginning. Remember? Because the bottom line is, at the end of the day no matter what actually happens and how things ultimately play out, good, bad or indifferent.

It’s that person staring back at you in the mirror entrepreneur, that’s ultimately responsible for keeping the doors open.Right?

So yea, without a doubt being an entrepreneur and calling your own shots is definitely a blast. But the flip side is there are times when the uncertainty of things make it downright scary as hell too!

So let’s explore the seven pro’s & cons of being the “boss!”

These Seven Reasons Make Being An Entrepreneur Really Cool But Scary As Hell Too!

Okay, so you’re finally in total control and you actually went and bought yourself a little sign to remind yourself that, “the buck stops with you!” That’s great! You’re finally all in!

But you know what? Once you stop and take a deep breath or two, these seven truths will pretty much always be the case, to some degree or another, once you put on the multi faceted hat called entrepreneur.

So let’s have a look at seven non negotiable reasons why being an entrepreneur is both a blast and (at times) downright scary as hell too!

1.) Reason # one: First: (the really cool part!) you’ve created and or help create a business, product and or service that really helps your customers/clientele solve their problems! You’ve brought and or bring them relief of some kind to their lives and as a direct result, you are handsomely compensated for it!

Bravo! Take a bow! And to some degree, you’re creating jobs, either full/ part time and or seasonal! That’s just too awesome entrepreneur! And you’re maximizing your long term marketing leverage too.

This Is Another Reason Why Being An Entrepreneur Totally Rocks!

2.) Reason # two: (Another really cool reason), as a direct result of being in charge (guess what?) You get to choose the quality individual(s) and or companies that you get to work with! Hello!

No more being stressed out by difficult clients and or companies, unless you love living on the edge! Hey, life is short, so why not enjoy as much of it as you can of it! Agreed?

3.) Reason # three: (The scary part!) Entrepreneur, there aren’t any guarantees here! Nope! Who’s to say next week won’t be your last one, if things continue to go south in a major way!

Hey, that’s the cost of the opportunity for potential financial freedom!

4.) Reason # four: (The scary part!) You hired them, based on your gut feeling and now sadly, it just isn’t working out! So guess who has to deliver the bad news! Yep! You need to let them go asap!

And get the most qualified individual and or individuals on board asap! Yea, it’s a little bit stressful and temporarily distasteful to have to do so, but that’s part of the deal! My friend, in case you didn’t know!

Being an aspiring entrepreneur ain’t all peaches and cream!

5.) Reason # five: (The really cool part), guess what, you are solely in charge of making out your work schedule! Say what? If you need a specific day and or time to pencil something in, you’ve got 100% freedom of choice in order to do so! Rock on with your bad self!

6.) Reason # six: (The really cool part), You know “how” you were warned not to take any type of stand one way or the other, with regards to company policy when it comes to certain subjects! Well guess what? Now you’re free to state your case, when and wherever you want to!

Whether you should or not, hey it’s now totally up to you! But remember, there are potential consequences to everything you/we do in business!

Don’t You Agree There Are Certain Advantages To Being An Entrepreneur?

7.) Reason # seven: And finally… (the really cool part), under no circumstances whatsoever, do you ever have to worry about and or question the integrity of any particular product, service and or company procedure and or policy enforcement etc!

No worries now, because that’s strictly your call! Because nothing happens, unless you approve it! Is that the bomb or what?

So those seven reasons (and obviously) so many more, make being an entrepreneur, or an aspiring one all that, and downright scary as hell too! Don’t you agree?

  1. Couldn’t agree more Mark – the one downside I see is that I am forever ruined when it comes to even considering a “traditional” job.

As funny as it may seem I caught entrepreneur fever from one of my employers – a local hotel. The hotel had been part of a huge chain and just sold to a Chinese entrepreneur when I joined the opening crew. I will never forget my interview when the GM said the most exciting thing about this is that we are on our own, responsible for the success or failure of this business … the scariest thing is that we are on our own, responsible for the success or failure of this business. I didn’t realize it until I was out on my own, but everything about the way that hotel was managed was like a training ground for entrepreneurs.

    • What an excellent assessment and positive mindset and vision M!

Please forgive my long delay in responding, but for the last three days my PC had
some sort of really funky virus and the geeks that cleaned it up, recommended that
I not log into my site until they could get things cleaned up!

Anyway, being an entrepreneur is the bomb, but like you said, at the end of the day, it’s that
face staring back at you in the mirror that’s ultimately responsible!

As always M, I so love your analysis and thoughts! thanks for sharing them and thanks for
your continuous support! I truly appreciate both!

Give me a day or two to get over to your site and learn something new!LOL!

  2. Hi Mark,

I actually did start out of the gate owning my own business. It has had its ups and downs, but I would not have it any other way.

There is a process, a timeline and a reality that is not being talked about enough, which sets newcomers up to fail.

The internet is an amazing place to share your great work. But finding sustainable success There is a process, a timeline and a reality that is not being talked about enough, setting people up to fail.

The internet is an amazing place to share There is a process, a timeline and a reality that is not being talked about enough, setting people up to fail.

The internet is an amazing place to share your great work. But finding sustainable success is a journey, not the starting line of the quest for entrepreneurial success.

    • That is so true Rachel!

Maybe the hard cold reality doesn’t sell as many $297 -$997 dollar courses
and webinars and tele seminar series etc!LOL!

And probably doesn’t help sell those fancy $5K-$25K coaching/mentoring programs!

But you’re so right, without a doubt there is most definitely a process and a timeline
to the entire successful entrepreneur thing!

Thanks so much for sharing your extremely valuable thoughts and for your continuous support!

  3. Hi Mark,

I totally agree with what you said. The entrepreneurial journey has its ups and downs, its sweet and bitter moments but I guess nothing worth it in life comes easy.

Sometimes, I feel like it is the best decision I made, other times I feel and say to myself, what did I do to myself. But I have to say, it is a journey where we learn a lot about ourselves and the people and the experience we get going through this journey is second to none.

Thanks Mark for sharing. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend ahead.

    Be Blessed,

    Neamat

    • Absolutely Neamat!

i couldn’t agree with your assessment more! it’s bitter and sweet all at the same time!

But like you pointed out, if we view it as an educational journey, really it’s ultimately positive
      in the long run!

Because we do discover so much we need to know about ourselves!

thanks so much for sharing your extremely valuable input and for continuous support!

      Both are greatly appreciated!
